  • In that case, the whole engine would need to be rebuilt. But, would probably lose its classic alco sound.

  • Either he's doing that on purpose, or the governor on that 539's really screwed up.

  • @DeserTBoB93535 It's a 244, but you are correct, the fuel governing system needs some attention. The idle fluctuation is almost comical.

  • @kjmerkel69 Er, yeah, how'd I think it was an RS-1?? Governor problems like this can also be caused bya really glopped up primary fuel filter, and I'm betting this one's got a nice, thick coat of algae on it.

  • @DeserTBoB93535 Oh, there are probably numerous faults. The rack tension springs are just some that got thrown on, and the rack itself is probably tight. We have a place to start, and as always, we're saying "maybe this year."

    Sounds to me like the engineer is jockeying the throttle. He only starts to led it idle at the end o the clip.

    This guy in this video is obviously playing with the throttle for whatever reason.
