Everytime i see anything about this movie or anastatia in general i have so many great memories! for one i named my cat after this movie and then many years later i sang this song in my voice recital. even though it isn't technically disney it will always be in the same league as disney in my mind

There is no reason to be a jerk if someone mistakes this as DISNEY movie. I went my whole childhood thinking it was. It doesn't matter if You knew who made it, as long as you've seen it. Plus, saying it's a disney movie should be a compliment, it's going to be remembered with Mulan, Snow White, Cinderella, and etc, anyways.

So after 25 years of not knowing who my godmother is or where she was... I used to connect the most with this movie as a little girl. I never went through the disney princess phase.... it was all Anastasia. I grew up in a rough and abusive household and I always searched for home, love, and family. I related to finding her family, her true family and the joy it brings to have people actually care for and about you. I was always my daddy's little anastasia though. He was my only friend.

I love Anya/Anastasia. She's such a strong, sassy and funny girl. She has more personality than the other Disney gals. Meg Ryan did voice her perfectly and Liz Callaway was a great choice for her singing.

The saddest part of this song are the lines "Arms will open wide, I'll be safe and wanted." That implies that before she was not safe, nor wanted, which is really sad to think about. All her life she hasn't been wanted... :'(
