  • Your facts are wrong dude! The 5.0 cobra has gt40 heads and intake it is 245hp. FACT!

    Was that cobra stock piper? Even with mods it's only a low 13's car unless it has engine work.

  • Assuming youre claiming both cars are stock that cannot be a real 4.6 cobra....even the 5.0 cobras had 285 the 4.6 is lighter and more powerful than the 5.0. A 944 turbo is unreliable and ugly, but quick. just not as fast as a 4.6 cobra. That car does 0-60 in about 5.0-5.2 and the 944 is around 5.4-5.6 which is very impressive for a car its age but the power discrepancy becomes more apparent as the race goes on so in no way could the 944 be stock unless a brain dead person was driving the cobra.

  • @miragezero Best advice ever! Take the porsche motor out, buy the renegade hybrid kit and drop an ls1 in the car. It uses the porshce torque tube and tranny. The car will be faster for cheaper, the handling will improve and cheaper to repair.

  • sorry but it was a turbo one and the guy admitted it himself. Now if he stuffed a turbo emblem from a turbo 944 and lied about boost delay then its a different story. As far as boost on my engine, i made 296whp on 8.7psi on a smaller turbo, now i have ported heads, ported intake manifold and more aggressive cams.

    You cant compare ur engine with mine, there are many variables to account there. If you want i can link you to places you can check (KL / KLZE) engines) and be t`he judge yourself.

  • Im wondering whats done to that 944 to leave the stang so far behind? I had similar results with one when i was NA but today i just embarrased a kid on a 944 turbo to a point where after 3 runs, he came up with an excuse that his boost was delayed. As far as my car, its a 94 Ford Probe GT, 2.5L V6 turbo@5.3psi on a 50 trim t3t4e making no more than 260-270whp. Can anyone list some mods please?

  • @RigsPGT your car is about 100 lb lighter and with your mods has 40-50 more HP than a 944 turbo. the 944 turbo is a 6 second 0-60 car, statistically the cobra is faster, so the driver must have sucked?? I have a 951 and everything sounded stock on that...

  • @RigsPGT You apparently raced a stock N/A 944..... Your results will differ with a real 944 turbo.... There is no way that you're making 260-270whp on 5.3 psi... My 3.0L v6 twin turbo 300zx makes 300whp 290tq at 13psi... My 951 makes less than 250 at the wheels and pulls away from the 300.... You must have been racing an NA... either that or a 5 year old was driving it.....

    Your the one who mentioned embarrassing 944's in a naturally aspirated Probe GT, come on now. NA a Probe GT wouldnt dream of hanging with a 944 NA or a 944 Turbo. My 944T is pretty peppy for what it is, LS3 killer, LS1 Turbo killer. Your right though, we are not the fastest. ;)

    It looks like you misunderstood my very first post. Back when i was NA (now turbo) i had a chance to run a 944 turbo and he killed me the same way this 944 did to the Cobra. There's no way i would outrun a car over 200whp car with only ~145whp unless that car is stuffed in gym barbells inside. As far as hanging with NA 944s, its a close call and it all depends on drivers. You wont know some other car's potential unless you own one and thats smth to consider!

    Those races were at low boost too, at 15lbs (the boost setting in the videos) the car made 320rwhp. At 22lbs you should see what I do to that poor LS3 Corvette. I just have basic bolt on's, wastegate, injectors, 61-1 turbocharger, 3" exhaust and a tune.

  • I'm a mustang owner that understands we don't have the best, fastest cars in the world, but I like the fact that everyone always tries to (and does at times), take down Americas only Muscle Car that never went away, and also has heritage in racing since its birth! I believe there are millions of other vids, showing M3s, Porsches, Lambs, Ferrari, all being beat by other cars, and thats no big deal. theres always some car better than yours or mine, just appreciate what you have.

  • well, this is a drag race in this video (thats the obvious) i have to say though a stock srt4 runs a mid 13 in a quarter mile, a stock trans am ws6 runs a mid to high 12 in a quarter mile (im talking about the 6spd manual transmission version) ive seen track times on both cars a buddy of mine had a srt4 i use to see his slips all the time and he hadnt modded it yet ..but anyway, i think a straight quarter mile run i think it would be a good race pending both drivers are good at shifting ^^

  • Yeah actually I do. It was a controlled test by C&D with 5 different drivers (same 5 in both cars). After beating them on VIR all day (Grand Course configuration) they found the lap time of the 997TT and GT500 were identical...

    Well if that's not making someone the bitch (i.e. the millionaire who threw down $100k), I don't know what is. The GT500 has phenomenal grip and a race proven chassis, same series as the factory 997 chassis actually. But yeah make up an alternate history if you want.

The 2005 gt2 has the same 0-60 time of 3.5 sec and is almost a tenth faster down the quarter (.08 sec quicker) than the gt. it also handles better.     Yes it does handle as good as a M3, and its faster than an M3 in a straight line.

  • Mustangs provide that muscle feel and are for those who want that un restrained power feel. There different people that want the controlled, disciplined power feel. (Us porsche guys). Its like saying who is a better warrior a Samaurai or a Viking. They are simply different one is not better than the other and either one can kick som serious ass when trained properly

  • You obviously have no clue what your talking about. 944= 50/50 weight distribution. Weighs in at about 2900 lbs, mine is sittin at about 400 whp/450 flt lbs. 1 bar boost. 09' GT 3356 lbs, 300hp/320 ft lbs. Those are at the flywheel numbers, - about 15 % for power loss through the drivetrain..285/300ish. With a weight distribution of 54/46. A 944 with a 200$ chip, and high flow cat is capable of 300 whp, which is already a better power to weight.
