  • THANKS SO MUCH FOR THIS! :)

  • to me foxtrot is the only genesis album that matters

  • Full Quality .. thanks

  • thanks for the upload i have so loved foxtrot since 1973,still a masterpiece today :)

  • goddam i am in for the fight of my life i think I need petrer gabriel

  • When is someone going to release an official remastered blu-ray of this performance? Pretty please?

  • i got into genesis when i was at school - along came punk and they were everything i despised - now many years later im listening to Gabriel et al - so wonderful lyric and musicianship - im glad i lived in the 70's

  • @TheMistermies LOL Prog Rock and Punk are my two favorite old school genres. For me, right up there next to Peter Gabriel's Genesis and Pink Floyd are The Clash and The Offspring. Totally different musical styles, but both awesome!

  • ADVERTS FUCK OFF

  • looks like a good sync job.

  • Peter should have brought this to the orchestra for the New Blood tour!

  • Genesis were awesome when Gabriel was with them....they sold out and started doing all poppy crap when Collins ( the guy who accused Gabriel of stealing all the limelight)

    took centre stage!

  • @rael1999 Yeah Collins is a prideful douche. He murdered one of the best albums that ever was. I intentionally boycott post Gabriel Genesis music because of his douchey ass.

  • crown of thorns? many a hippie self dellusion - gabriel may not be quite a christ , wonderful never the less

  • One of the greatest songs ever.

  • lovely old skool, before they went popshit crap...

  • @ZobaK1 They didn't go 'popshit crap' unti Phil Collins took over. Peter Gabriel is the genius here.

  • Sheer beauty

  • is this concert on DVD or even VHS anywhere? if it is, what is it called? i really want to know!

  • After 35 years, this is still so astonishing ,coz it was just so true and honest right from the start and forever!

  • peter gabriel is a genious... I'm not saying that phil collins is not... its just that I think everyone can agree with me that without Peter Gabriel, there wouldn't be a genesis. I love the phil collin's genesis, but the early genesis is just too perfect.

  • My mate Stephen Pealing said (look him up on Facebook) this is a rip off iof Grendel

  • uma obra prima...algo encantador,sedutor....peter gabriel & genesis muito melhor que phil collins nos vocais.

  • a flower??

    I love it :)

  • Where's the Seconds Out version??? don't get me wrong I Love Gabe but Phil's rendition just blows me away!!!

  • @Ripples76 i keep looking for it too! the last part takes my breath away

  • @Ripples76 tosser !

  • @klnine LMAO :D

  • nooo it was great footage, why was it overdubbeeeddd, it could have been the perfect video if the live music was playin not the recorded version

  • why overdub the live recording?????

  • Really, why the audio dubbing!? Post the original! Gracias!

  • Brilliant superb music from one of the greatest bands ever.

  • Thanks man i really appreciate this , you rock !!!!!

  • Big Big Big Big Big Big Big Big Big Big Big Big Big Big.

  • Gods of 12-String.

  • Peter Gabriel is a absolut genius.

  • Gabriel is a god....I love him incredibly! Shame I didn't live back then to see this, I would kill to find a time machine

  • What the hell is this?? The point of it being live is that it's well, live.

  • why is it that i feel i'm among sincere friends here when i'm checkin out one of my all time favorite songs from one of my all time favorite bands? too bad none of us have boobs :)

  • Very damn good!

  • Masterpiece of the century?

  • @fredouwens yes :)

  • @fredouwens Not for me.

  • Hai fatto un bel lavoro, belle immagini ottimo sound.Grandissimi genesis!!!

  • Great band in those days - unfortunately they did a lot of studio overdubs on this.

  • this sux... I could listen to the album any time I want

  • Thank you mate! The work you have done is great. At last I can see genesis on stage but with perfect sound and, my God, that is really great!

  • Hey, the remastering and cleaning up is really good on this. Really good, Nice work.

  • Phil Collins should've sticked with the drums.

  • j'avais vu GENESIS à Reims, à cette epoque. Un concert monumental et inoubliable.

  • che gruppo... ma la musica è la studio version.-.-

  • Best song ever written

    CASE CLOSED

  • @jessicafischerqueen It´s only your opinion. CASE OPEN.

  • Great job!

    Genesis with Peter forever

  • no words to comment ... they were, they are greatest ... i can only listen, enjoy n learn !

  • Today's a day to celebrate, the foe have met their fate.... love love love this song, there's been nothing before or after to compare unless you look to opera, maybe Puccini, but he didn't have that slightly crazy edge...

  • dodolurker91: seriously, whats the source of this audio? its not the same as on foxtrot. i like this one.

  • Esto es arte, sera considerado clasico en el futuro. Es una composicion muy completa y equilibrada. Lo mejor del rock sinfonico.

  • dodolurker91: where does this audio come from?

  • I much prefer the audio on this to Foxtrot. Sounds as if it's been remixed, not just remastered...

  • The best song of Genesis!!!

  • Amazing Amazing Amazing. Thanks for posting! :)

  • peter was so amazing... hahaha he's artistically nuts

  • English Prog-Rock - late Beatles, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Yes, Genesis, Led Zepellin, Queen, maybe a few others - greatest era in rock and roll/rock/pop music - whatever you want to call it. The culmination of what was started in the mid 50s. Been downhill ever since. and now we have Ke$sha and Britney Spears dominating the charts.

  • According to convention, punk rock reclaimed popular music to the rockn'roll working class. My own theory: On the contrary, punk acted to rip away the control from independent artists and give it back to business people: Buy crap, not art!

  • @TheRadicalLiberal You just listed the exact bands that dominate my music listening time. 100% true, sir.

  • @TheRadicalLiberal You could never describe The Beatles of any era, Zep and Purple as prog my friend.

  • @TheRadicalLiberal Prog rock is one of the bastard children of rock along with metal. Thank God Genesis broke through this year and got inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Maybe there is hope for bands like Yes, ELP, the Moody Blues and Jethro Tull.

  • @Sargebri: any rock hall of fame that doesn't already include Yes and Jethro Tull is not really worth being a part of.

  • @TheRadicalLiberal deep purple and led zeppelin aren't really prog bands. led zeppelin is heavily blues influenced, even their more epic songs are still very basic musically . king crimsons a great prog band of the 70s. i strongly suggest you look them up, if you like genesis and yes i think you'll like king crimson

  • @TheRadicalLiberal Beatles, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Queen, prog bands? are you high?

  • @Mercinq

Lol most definitely they are. Or should I just say YES.

  • @TheRadicalLiberal rush, then genesis, then everything else for me

  • @TheRadicalLiberal Genesis has actually sold nearly three times as many albums as Lady Gaga.

    Be happy for that.

  • @TheRadicalLiberal I can name plenty of rock/pop acts from the last decade or so that are just as creative as thoes bands. Radiohead, The White Stripes, Arcade Fire, The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, Blur, PJ Harvey, Björk... it's true that commercial pop is more prominent in the charts today, but the advent of the internet and sites like YouTube has made it more easy than ever to find wonderful, and endlessly creative music. Just because it isn't in the charts anymore, doesn't mean it's not there.

  • @Mekakakaka LOL!!! While I agree that there are bands as creative as Genesis these days, most of the bands you just mentioned arent musically creative at all, they are just following in a genre. The strokes sound like a million other indie bands out there, Arctic Monkeys too..White stripes sound like TONS of folk/rock bands..nothin special there. Radiohead IS creative though. However none of the bands you mentioned are prog rock. Better to mention The Decemberists, Porcupine Tree etc.

  • @Porojukaha except those prog bands are, like you said, just following genres, and in some cases, trying too hard to sound like particular bands, just like most bands that call themselves "prog" these days. The Decemberists want to be Genesis, The Mars Volta want to be King Crimson, Dream Theater want to be Rush, Porcupine Tree want to be Pink Floyd, etc. prog is a dead genre these days...

  • @Mekakakaka Im sorry have you even listened to those bands? there are virtually NO similarities between teh Decemberists and Genesis. Also there are pretty much no similarities between Rush and Dream Theater. Once again, virtually no similarities between Porcupine Tree and Pink Floyd. Decemberists and Genesis dont even use the same instruments! When did you ever see a pedal steel or an upright base or an accordion in Genesis music? and when did the decemberists ever use a flute?

  • @Mekakakaka The white stripes, however is JUST LIKE hundreds of other indie folk bands, they just happened to get famous. Arctic Monkeys is just like hundreds of other indie bands from england.

  • @Mekakakaka And finally, why are you even bringing up Dream Theater? They arent even prog rock, they are prog metal, Prog rocks' evil shitty doppleganger. hell you might as well mention Symphony X if your gonna start talking about Dream Theater. Gross. I agree that PT had some floyd influence at the start and occasionally SW pays an homage to that. But for the most part their playstyles are completely different. PT is much more hardcore whilst PF is more psychedelic and spacey.

  • @Porojukaha Dream Theater Prog Shit

  • @Mekakakaka But as far as prog rock being dead....yeah, its mostly dead. but only because SW has failed to really branch out and most of what he produces sounds like other things hes done, so I feel like the progression of his band has stopped. And the Decemberists are shying away from prog rock because all the bastard hipsters who have no real taste in music & just want things to conform to their "ironic" "scene" of popular pseudo folk culture have lambasted them to the point of capitulation.

  • Are you people kidding me - it tells you in the title - LIVE SYNC. i.e. Synchronised!

  • Comment removed

  • i love this song

  • Your kidding me with this right? No one noticed this?? It's the studio audio track dubbed over the live video. It's not the real soundtrack. I have this video.

  • its still beautiful and most definately better than not seeing this art at all

  • I thought the same thing. It's the Foxtrot version, not a live recording.

  • Great quality of a sublime performance. One of the best recorded live performances I've seen. In company with selected gems by KC, Zappa, Led Z and Jimi.

  • Not a live version!

  • Thanks for this interesting version, something nice for my iPod!

  • i don't like how people compare Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins roles in the band, Gabriel made the music more than interesting with his lyrics and stage act, and Collins brought that huge drum sound to the band, something they were lacking in the beginning.

  • Maybe because Collins stopped drumming and took over singing when Gabriel left after "Lamb"? There is a definite change of feel in the band at that point, and when Steve Hackett left as well, Genesis (under Collins' leadership) became pretty much pop, rather than the more creative and inventive band they had been with Gabriel (even when Collins was drumming).

  • Genesis was born...never has there been a band with a sound so original since.

  • Only o0ne mistake.

using peter's flute as the dub to Tony's organ.

  • This was th first tour I saw them on.

    Magic.

    Pure and simple.

  • Great concert footage but why in the name of all things sacred did you dub over the actual concert audio with the non-live version from Foxtrot?? Totally nonsensical and needless!

  • Granted. But why upload something thats already on YouTube??

  • Granted this video is elsewhere on YT but yours is a greatly restored version - not the same thing. And the audio quality from the original footage is superb (all things considered), so why replace it with something we've all heard a million times before? Something that's also already on YT? This totally defeats the purpose of restoring the visual component of the concert footage! There's enough lip-synching in the world already - plse don't create it where it never existed in the first place!

  • @dodolurker91 do you have the original man?? that would be sooo awesome but it has a good audio?? or is it in youtube with a good audio?

  • Comment removed

  • @dodolurker91 You keep- the original sound up so that Youtube takes off the other videos, we have yours to depend on. Is there any way you can upload the real footage? Sound and all?

  • @siulungkevin OR @dodolurker91: "Great concert footage..." INDEED. I thought I was pretty familiar with all the available historic bootleg video footage but I have never seen this excellent video. Can you tell me the date date/venue or some other identifier (like for example, Atomic Sun Festival, Shepperton, Bataclan, Lindisfarne Fair, Imperial College, Piper Club, etc. ...)

  • @siulungkevin Its great to watch the performance regardless - better than just a picture of an album cover etc..

  • @siulungkevin I´m such an idiot !!!!!! Therefore the brilliant sound !!!!!

You are so right man. I wondered a bit, because I saw the musical box live concert 12 times. Now all it´s clear ! Thanks

  • @siulungkevin

Because it's much better than just listening to the song or watching the live performance with poor sound quality.

  • @siulungkevin actually, if you listen to it and watch the video, the bad synchro makes it look weirder than usual,,, i like it,,, a little bit more bizarre, thats nice

  • @siulungkevin I like it. It's the best of both worlds. Listen to the Bataclan recording and then tell me if you don't prefer this one.

  • Best band ever. High creatiity and very much talent. If you think that they were about 20 yrs. old at the time... Really astounding.

  • this is just magic
