This specific track on the above listed record is my dad singing. His name was Chuck Tilley. I havent seen him since I was 12 and I am now 45. Dont know if he is even still with us, but this was pretty kool to find on you tube!. I remember (barely) when they recorded this.
@singertc1 Thanks for your post. As far as i know the album was released in 1972 or so, but recordingdates ..?? SO no news what happened to him? and no contact since? That's hard brother...
What album is this off of?!! What a trip. I had no idea Roy did a recording like this. Is it all country tunes? I dig Roy. I did country, too. I live in Nashville and saw Roy here years ago.
@heymama1 : like it says in the clip-info: it's from the 1972-album on Polydor records, simply called 'Roy Buchanan'. Checke out the info going with the clip. It's all there! Tracklisting.. etc etc. Thanks for the post.
Ultimate version is RIGHT! I wondered if I was the only one who remembered the "Snake Stretchers" as they called themselves doing this timeless version. I just told someone over at at a Bill Kirchen video.
Is Chuck T still alive and kickin'? Pete van Allan used to play in the same bar as me out in the sticks of Maryland a million years ago. Seems like yesterday.
This album had a great "Haunted House" and "Hey Good Lookin'" too
Thanks a million for putting this up, ExpatBlues!!
Chuck Tilley was my dad. unfortunatley due to divorce, i havent seen him in over 30 years. i have wondered myself if he is still around. if you happen to hear...let me know. thanx. kim

The guitar work in this (as in all of his work) is simply Beautiful!
No toys plugged in between the guitar and amp.
He did it all with his heart and his hands!

Roy will always be one of my favourites. Great chicken picker!

I'd like to take you with me but can't afford the luxury...A-flipping-men, that whole stanza...

Merle Haggard definitely set the Gold Standard for this song. Every other version sounds like a cheap copy to me.

merle haggard was the original in 1967
