i have a question my 300zx has an issue i change the alternator because the car would like jump when im speeding up like i didnt have power on it so i switched the alternator and it still does it and i got the battery checked out they said its a very good battery so idk what it is can someone help out alos it dont want to start up it will act like it has no power att all like no clicks no nohitn but then i keep trying it then it starts up please please please help

@keoronez First thing you need to do is RUN THE CODES on the ECU (passenger side floorboard) just look on Google for checking ECU CODES. Find out if there are any codes FIRST. From the symptoms you spoke of about not starting sometimes. It sounds like you have a BAD STARTER SOLENOID, you need to have it checked, If bad you have to buy a complete starter. As far as feeling like it's loosing power at higher rpms, cont. below............

@keoronez  cont........ If it start to lag or loose power at higher rpms when giving it more pedal to the metal, then that may be a sign that you TPS is either bad or needs adjustment. The TPS send a signal to the ECU (basically is your computerized systems manager) telling it where your pedal position is when revving the engine. Get your Z compression tested and pressure tested, Any dealer can do this for you if you don't know how. Hope this gets you in the right direction.

Just a beautiful car and very well made. 300hp from the factory on the twin turbo option. The styling is just timeless. It's 100x better than what Nissan's pushing now with the 350z, 370z. Those small boxster bodies are lame. Sure they're lighter but they give up mounds of class which by the way the 300ZX has & then some.

@supershard555 Only the RB26 is superior in terms of head flow and such, the VG30DETT is actually superior to all RB engines except the RB26. Even then, the VG has potential to be better.

Subtract 18% of that number. That's the average amount of power loss from the engine to the tires on most vehicles.

@BlueIceLS1 You mean ADD 18% to that number, (but actually it's 15%) but either way you add it to rwhp which means rear wheel horsepower. He asked what 482 rwhp is at the crank, not the other way around.

thats right one! gt28's are getting on the big size, as unarmedblakman said. Any bigger and the car would start to get really laggy and less fun as a street car. Could still go bigger if it was just made for the drag strip.

it won't get laggy lol I know personally a z that has two super 60's and hits peak torque at 3400rpm and keeps pulling til just before redline........not much lag over stock.
