  • You can use the knobs on the midi controller for Cubas'es Quick Controls

  • Is there a way to change between the MIDI tracks by using the keyboard? I am using an oxygen 49 for live use and using a qwerty keyboard to change the selected track is hard to do quickly!

  • @philiphaselhurst - Not that I'm aware of. You'd be better off with a Synthetizer, for the Live stuff. I think the Oxygen 49 is mainly meant for recording, or studio use.

  • @HeadbangerStudio

Hey dude, the 8 buttons what do they stand for ? can you switch from one sound to another when playing live, by pressing the buttons ?

  • @suriadd All the buttons, knobs and sliders are meant to interact with the loaded VST Instrument Interface. I really don't know if you can control Cubase with them. I use my Oxy49 for studio recording only. So, I never bother looking further into what I can do with it. You might want to check the Enigma software for the Oxygen 49. If you can control Cubase with the Oxy49, it will most likely be with Enigma. No clue how it works, though.....good luck!

all the vids I have seen of it there should be a track select button by the wheels... :)

  • What is the difference between M-Audio Oxygen 61 v3 and M-Audio Oxygen 61 3rd Gen??

  • @ByOld I honestly don't have a clue, but I'm sure you can find that out at the M-Audio website, or Google Groups.

  • dude even i have cubase 5 at home bt i dont have plugins n those pro instruments at my home so can u just help me out 4r plugins n instruments which i can use it at home?????????

  • @rahul12styx If your Cubase didn't come with VST Instruments, then you'll have to buy some, or download some free one.

  • need ur help, i bought my new oxygen 49, connect it to usb, install the protools, and then what? what should i do? i did press the key in my midi, but nothing happened, no sound at all :( help me, need any driver, or software to download? :(

  • @dewatandas Oxygen 49 is a MIDI Controller, not a synthesizer. In other words, it's a keyboard with no sound. You need a MIDI instrument to have sound. Google VST Instruments and MIDI Modules, to learn more about it.

  • Hey, thanks for your reply. I only just really started using the VST instruments [a1 i think its called], can you recommend me to a decent website for some ? I don't mind paying either. Thanks again.

  • @M1F2R3

Steinberg and Native Instruments make pretty good VST Instruments, but you have to pay for most of them. As for the free ones, just Google “Free VST Instruments”, you’ll get all kinds of hits.

  • @HeadbangerStudio dude even i got one at hy home bt i dont have any plugins n those pro instrument so can u help me out 2 set my own????????????

  • Hey, I am thinking of buying this. I have SX3 & I use Serato SL3 [for turntables], would I be able to use this as a synth with SX3 ? Sorry im a newbie at synths/keyboard midis lol ?

  • @M1F2R3

Yes. And, as long as you have USB ports available and a good CPU, you'll be able to manage multiple interface at once, with SX3. You can have one MIDI track set to Oxygen 49 and other MIDI track set to SL3, at the same time (same project). You will need VST Instruments, to work the Oxygen49, but you can easily find some online, for free.

  • hi i have a question, what is all the stuff u got on the table?? compressors eq effects??? im curious! what do they do?? they're the same as in any software but more quality sound??

    thanks a lot!

  • @thejointbeats

You're talking about my Rack. I got a Power Panel (for powering the rack and mixer), a Drum Module (for my drum triggers - kick drum), a Tube Preamp (for my condenser mics), a Compressor (for instrument pre-compression), a Feedback Killer (for live gig) and a Master Output EQ.

Software, like Cubase, only allows you to do post-mixing. If you want to do some pre-mixing, you'll need some hardware (i.e. a rack). Pre-mixing is very handy, for recording vocals and drums.

  • I dont think im gona be using the knobs and sliders! i just want a keyboard to control and play my VSTS such as Virtual guitar etc and Accoustic piano

  • @MrChrisJG

Hi, there's a software called Enigma, that's used to set buttons/sliders, in the Oxygen Series. I never used it, tho. I just use the default settings in the VSTs, for the sliders and buttons. I might make a video about it, sometimes..........just got to find the time to do it ;)

  • great video...thanx!

  • nice!

  • Whats up dave... how did u get the m audio 49 to work in cubase?

  • I can help you if you still need it. I have the Axiom Pro 49 Hyper, and I dicked around wit it for a month or so to get it to work. I know what you have to do.

  • cool.
