  • 0:53 Gohan out of dragonball z =O

  • thumbs up if you used to sleep in the streets my ass... thug style in this motherfucker..

  • When I had money & job I would always give money to the homeless. In New York there were so many but i still at least gave some. My boyfriend nagged about it and said I was wasting it, his income 70k a year. My sister refused to let me give one a $20 bill said could use it. Others have also criticized me for giving to homeless. How could they justify this? When we had food and clothes and houses. When these people were starving and living on the streets. The inhumanity of humanity amazes me.

  • Destory the homeless shelters so these useless pieces of garbage will go out and WORK for a living. We owe the homeless nothing, they are bums...pure and simple.

  • @cotterfour fuck you cuz you dont know shit

  • @detroitx57 : That's it? That's the brightest insult you could come up with? "fuck you cuz you dont know shit" ?? Oh come on fool, you can do better than that.

  • wecanmakeithappen.bbnow.org

  • These vile bums deserve what they get. They are wretched lazy parasites who dirty up this nation with their bile.

They are responsible for themselves but instead of doing something about their plight to chose to roll over and cry. I have no pity for bums, just an aversion to them.

  • @cotterfour I am sorry your vision is so narrow and your knowledge of this tragedy so limited my friend. many of those who are ending up on the streets at thee moment are from decent families, drug free and educated. We do not always choose our circumstances and for those who are hit with it like these people it is a crying shame. my hope for you is that you will take the time to look into the issues you feel the need to voice your ignorance on. best wishes and pity for you :(

  • @EugeneWanderer : No, we don't choose our circumstances but we DO choose how to deal with them. These weak-minded bums chose to curl up like spineless jellyfishes and dirty the streets up with their self-pity and endless bile of whining.

Open your mind with knowledge Eugene, not superficial concern for those who don't deserve it.

  • @cotterfour Again you stereotype. Not everyone on the streets are trying to stay there. Many are trying to get back on their feet. The unfortunate truth is that in the "land of opportunity" there are not always those opportunities available. I am a college educated, drug free non-drinker who has an excellent resume, but i have been homeless for over a month now, and regardless of my efforts to find work i have been unsuccessful. By chance are you a Republican?

  • @cotterfour Weak-minded bums? Is that how you refer to someone that has a mental illness? What would happen if you had to go off to fight in a war, which certainly could happen and you developed PTSD and became homeless? Wouldn't' you want help? I might become homeless sometime in the future and at least I know that I felt for other homeless before I was one. People like you pretend that we deserve it only to relieve yourself of any responsibility of helping your fell man.

  • @MsAgnosticatheist : There is no such thing as 'mental' illness. That's a phony term applied to the lazy and the stupid so they won't feel so bad when in reality, they SHOULD feel bad: They're just mentally weak and need to grow up.

Only physical diseases exist: Cancer, diabetes, etc. Something that shows up on an x-ray or blood test, NOT mental "illness".

  • @cotterfour Sorry if I don't take your word for it. How about you watch the lecture on depression from Stanford's University professor of Biological Sciences, Neurology, Neurological Sciences and, by courtesy, Neurosurgery. Mental illness is real and it is physical, it has physical affects on the body. Listen to all of the educated professionals in the field. But i doubt your anger and ignorance will be erased so easily even from the top Neuroscientist in the country.

  • Well said Mazstella!

  • it is unbelievable how ignorant people can be.

i was born into a relatively normal, loving family, i have always done well in school, i do not take drugs or drink alcohol, i do not have a history of offending. and by 16 i was in school, doing a levels and living in a homeless hostel. work it out. sometimes people are hit by circumstance and they land face down in the gutter. and if you ever find yourself there you will be bloody grateful that not everyone is an ignorant arsehole like yourself.

  • Nice documentary but I went blind trying to read the text at the beginning

  • pan to the trendy young girl with her 4 dollar cup of coffee.

  • Comment removed

  • ignorant chink.

  • @soulwam. Well said.

  • The scariest part, other than your use of the video camera I mean, is the AGE of the young people you guys are interviewing at the start of the video. It's scary to think that these college kids, who ARE our future, are so aloof & uninformed about this epidemic problem.

  • Why not learn how to use a microphone so that you don't waste so many good people's time. ?

  • people believe because they wouldn't want to be homeless, that someone else must not want it. fact is some prefer it.

  • It's so sad that people think that way about the homeless. They're people and when people are down they should be helped. People fail to understand we're all only a few steps away from being homeless. As Americans we forget about how bad it was when the Great Depression was alive and well of the 1929. One day you can have it all and tomorrow it can all be gone. God bless.

  • Solution to two of the world's problems:

Feed the homeless to the hungry.

  • our jobs should be standing outside serving food and giving people places to sleep. let them no its safe to come out and be normal, but its not

  • i love this1

  • look at the smirking smart ass in the car---I think he was laughing at the poor fellow

  • I lost everything ,.. house, cars, etc. motorcycle v.s car on the way home from work.. took me 15yrs. to find a job I can handle, and 5yrs. struggling to keep the house I have now,.. I am one step away from being back there. and I know how to do many different jobs that pay very well????? ouch :0( ,.. wish me luck,.. and thank god for Raman noddles. my friends brought me some,. :0),... sheesh

  • i can not hear the interview becaus of the music.

  • woo song!!!

  • How did they get to where they are? Probably not listening to their parents. How many times did you say 'If I'd just listen to my parents, I'd be better off" I've stayed at shelters all over the country and 90% belong in jail or mental hospitals. Constant talk of lying, cheating, stealing, hustling, alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, selling their foodstamps thats pretty much all the talk I've heard. There should be a time limit a homeless man can stay at a shelter. Some been at the shelter for years.

  • Well the people who show empathy towards the homeless are those who appreciate what they have.

  • Who will win the Stanley Cup this year?

  • i dont exactly think homelessnessness is a bad thing. its defineitely not a good thing, and we should always try to make homes whenever possible, but in nature, everything and everyone is homeless, and houses are more luxuries than necessities

  • Out new book " Homeless People Have The Dirtiest Sex" is an indepth look at the subculture of homeless people who believe they have found that special someone. It's all about them meeting and finding a safe place to have sex!

The book is up for several awards so be sure to check it out!

  • How many people here have a failsafe? Someone to have their back when everything fails? Imagine you lost all of that; do you think you could hold it out on your own? I know for a fact that I'm just -one parent dieing- away from being homeless too. It is simplistic to simply say homeless people made bad decisions. Barring the influences of drug and alcohol, homelessness is just bad fucking luck.

  • the first guy is like WOING CHOING CHOING FOR A THOUSEND YEARS WHERES MY RICE?

  • And the congress last year voted for $45 Billion in "foreign aid!"

WTH is wrong with our govt?

  • Whoever oppresses a poor man insults his Maker, but he who is generous to the needy honors him. Proverbs 14:31

  • If everyone here would refer to homeless people to one person that could use our help it ewould change America, maybe even the world. Most American people without a home are people with mental illnesses and they couldnt keep there job because of that illness. Most homeless people are homeless are homeless not because they are lazy or just want to give up. They are homless because they need help and we should gve it to them.

  • Was this interview done in Highline community college?

  • Yes it was, about 3-4 years ago, for a sociology class with Professor Green..The shelter was the Union Gospel Mission. it's been entertaining to see the comments roll in over the years.

  • Alcohol is great fun and its taxable. Thats the biggest incentive to keep it legal and abused by many!

I feel sorry for most homeless people. WHY? Because anybody can end up there if the dice rolls the wrong way!

  • I fart in homeless peoples cups

  • u r a cok sucker prick.

  • @agaichapter25 bow chicka bow wow

  • give a week to being homeless yourself then maybe you would understand what some of these homeless have to go thru, go ahead try it....dont judge till you have walked in another person's shoes NOT all homeless are alcoholic or drug addicts i had lost everythng from a fire & had no family near but I did walk everyday to my job & saved to get another place but those that seen me in the meantime really looked down on me too! till this day I always pay it forward for a few help'd give me a hand up!

  • the spirit is broken..the standard goes down you get in a rut you fall down down down..sometimes you can get up and get out...BUT you are never ever the same!!! a part of you a HUGE part is still there..I otta know..

  • Rent is to high for one thing.

  • this isnt social. THEY ARE ALL ASIAN!

  • There are 3 types of homeless people. Homeless on the streets because if you were a hard working person; down on their luck or the physically or mentally ill, I care deeply for & would gladly help this subset of the homeless.

All dope addicts \ slackers deserve to be homeless. Druggies deserve earn to be homeless. I wouldn't waste a dime or lift a finger to help dope addicts or ex-convicts Drug & alcohol abuse are stupid life choices whose Reward should be prison or & homelessness! :)

  • alcohol abuse isnt allways a life choice, little bit more complicated than that.....

  • Well I would believe that alcoholism\ alcohol abuse is not a life choice when any alcoholic shows shows me how they were forced against their will to take the first drink! I have autism, cerebral palsy & and other real disabilities. I did not have an option to drink anything to get my disabilities. It is simple as that!

  • No not as simple as that. Im sure most people have tried a drink. Well people who suffer from alcoholism did too but they couldnt stop. Its a medical condition.

I dont drink anymore - havnt done for 7 years but yes I used to drink alcoholicly. It landed my on the street for a bit. No I didnt choose to end up that way I simply had no control over my addicition to alcohol. Allthough I dont drink now and was able to break the addiction I dont blame people who cant break out of the trap..

  • Correct most people take a drink. BUT when people CHOOSE to drink they must also take full responsibility for ALL that goes with taking that first drink! I have autism. Autism comes with extremely violent antisocial meltdowns. I almost killed a man during one of my rages. I could have blamed my autism, "disability" but, I took responsibility by learning to manage MY RAGE! Autism inspired angers like an addiction eat at me every day but it is my responsibility to manage it! PEOPLE CREATE TRAPS!

  • Hurt people create traps to avoid taking full responsibility for their actions. Funny you call alcoholism a trap. What you call a trap in my world is nothing more than a custom designed pity party cage. If alcoholism is a trap the cage is custom designed by its prisoner to meet selfish needs. It's not that people can't break out of their traps. People can break out of their self imposed prisons but not until they really want to break out. I don't buy into the alcoholism as "DISEASE" pity party!

  • o shut up

  • I own a house and land. Plan on buying a 2 bed/1 bath manufactured home (new) and place it on the property. Can you believe the city wants $26,00.00 for permits and fees? The manufactured home costs $46,000.00. Its very nice. I plan on dumping my retirement into this investment. I feel money will become ever more worthless and know of good people who need a small place to rent. A roof over your head is more important than worthless money sitting in an account. Any advice out there?

  • If someones gonna rent a trailer, theyre in the market for junk... So a nice trailer will just get trashed by shitty (trailer) clients

  • We need to learn survival skills to stay alive no matter what. Should we find outself outdoors we all need to know what to do and when. Every one should know how to maintain core temp, find and insure water is safe, make shelter, and how to get a meal. We need to learn self sufficiency I don't know why we want to die as soon as we are not a part of the crowd. That is what is wrong it isn't that we are entirely disadvantaged we are sidetracked when we are HL we just need to prioratize what to do.

  • After being HL as a youth I made it my goal to own my property as soon as possible I know we are all alone don't fool yourself into thinking you have to put yourself in hock to look like you are something you are not. Wifes family is upset we will not sell the $32K land trailer we are about to own outright. They think we should get a loan 4 A houuse that is more befitting. I strongly disagree we need to own our home should we get another we will pay cash for the next one.F**K the Jone's

  • I agree with you 100%. Once you own where you are use that as the launching point to a better home you can buy outright. Owing money to some mortgage company puts you at risk of being homeless especially in this down economy. If you have a marginal job even more reason to own where you live outright. The Wife's family is not likely to take you in if you get in over your head in a large home you can not afford. Live to suit your needs not someone else's expectations. If you are happy rock on!

  • I watched a video from the Library where a inverstor recommends Not paying off your home because of you investment options. Well I am not playing monopoly I intend to own this place then we shall build a dome home on this property. Innexpensive land is out there I had a small piece of land that was on the market for a year I sold it for $1k it had city water was near everything you need not the best nhood but it was 70380 hardly a murder rate.Had to sell was geting charged for lawn care $300ea.

  • Ha ha ..... what a load of ignorant, arrogant, small minded comments on here .... "homeless due to their own fault and wrongdoing"? You absolute idiot. I hope you never fall on hard times and have no home, therefore no bank, therefore no ability to get a job, therefore no way of paying rent.

  • As Americans we should be ashamed of ourselves that ANY of our citizens sleep outdoors or goes without basic food. It is Shameful indeed...

  • Dont think all homeless people are innocent. I took one glance at a homeless guy today and he said "keep it up, i'll smack the shit out of you!". One glance, i didnt stare. I wasnt judging him. I dont know his situation.

  • @randy109 ummm, why should I be ashamed that a homeless person didn't work hard in school like I did? What does that have to do with me being shamed?

  • @Tomaldinho9 Please tell me that at the age of 20 years old, you are only joking & are not actually ignorant enough to think that people are homeless in this world because they didn't work as hard as you in school! Please? Your work in school, whatever you may study, is great. Good for you indeed. But at 20 years old, you are the future. You not only need that education you have, but you need compassion as well......There is another type of education I believe that you may need to work on also.

  • @randy109 : Why? These bums chose to live this lifestyle. Let them suffer. My responsibility is to myself and I feel NO shame for the things I WORK for.

They can rot for all I care.

  • @cotterfour Hopefully you'll run your mouth to the wrong person and they'll beat your self centered ass. Luckily for you mental illness and 'weak' cognitive emotions like depression and eternal frustration don't exists because after they show your stuck up ass a thing or two, you'll be just fine sitting in your house with your big screen TV and your bruises and broken bones. That's all that matters, right.

  • @Swallowchllorox : You're just alot of talk Swallowchllorox, nothing else. Excuse me now, "American Idol" is on and I want to see it on my super-big screen TV while I stuff my face with donuts and burgers.

  • @cotterfour A lot of talk? I didn't say I was going to kick your ass. Just that YOU'RE a lot of talk and you'd never say any of the bullshit you're saying here to a homeless person.

  • @Swallowchllorox : I HAVE said it to bums (homeless). They just say 'god bless' (translation: 'you're right') and then walked (crawled) away. Bums are spineless.

  • @cotterfour What are traits one must possess to be considered "spineless" in your opinion?

  • @Swallowchllorox : Making foolish choices and then blaming those choices on "hard luck" or others. Weakness of mind and then attributing such mental indolence on "mental illness" (please!!).

Bums made their choices from the experiences handed to them just as we all have but instead of dealing with those choices, these human parasites folded up like jellyfish and whined about it. They make me sick, they are spineless and I have only contempt for them.

  • @cotterfour Did you ever make bad decisions when you were younger? What if you became disabled and had no friends or family that could take you in? Most people are only 2 pay checks away from being homeless. What if you were one of those people and because of a natural disaster like Katrina your job was taken from you and because you were a single parent with no living relatives you were forced to move into a homeless shelter? It could take months to find another job.

  • @Swallowchllorox : I do NOT believe that mental illness exists. Bi-polar, depression, ADD, etc. are the afflictions of weak-minded people who excuse themselves by saying these infirmities are a "disease". Physical ailments? Sure they exist: Cancer, MS, etc. You can see them on an X-ray chart or blood test but even those with physical plights don't all trash themselves by laying out in the street like slime.

  • @Swallowchllorox : Sure I've made bad decisions but I overcame them by correcting my course of action. And yeh, many are without jobs for awhile...but not for friggin' YEARS. Most bums have chosen and adhered themselves to this pathetic lifestyle and many have had it far worse but are NOT

out on the street begging like vultures...they don't cry, they TRY, and they overcome external adversity. Let these carrion crows do the same.

  • @cotterfour How do you know that these people aren't a part of a job corp? And how do you know for a fact that they beg?

  • Are you also not aware that some types of severe bipolar disorder can be seen with an MRI? And what about people with schizophrenia? The fact that they hallucinate and hear voices must be their fault? Many schizophrenics symptoms can be managed with heavy duty antipsychotic drugs but if you've ever known anyone who's tried to pick up a prescription of one of these medications you'd know they're very expensive. And someone with $450 to work with every month can't pay $150-$450 a month for meds.

  • @cotterfour actually, you are completely wrong in your sweeping generalizations. i was a college graduate and became homeless a year ago due to being unable to afford student loan payments/rent/food/transportation. eventually i pulled out of it, but life is still a struggle. it is totally wrong to judge the homeless as weak and spineless. many of them are, but many of them aren't. they come from all walks of life.

  • @cotterfour you dirty prick. Ignorant bastard. Have some respect for human beings. I hope you die a slow painful homeless death so I can spit and take a big crap on your dead body. Ill see you in hell.

  • @cotterfour damn i want to punch you in the face until your retarded and homeless. Jackass

  • @bryan112706 : Hahahahahahaha.

  • @randy109 : It's not shameful randy as these filthy bums have chosen to survive this way. The only shame we should have is that there in no militia assigned to blow away these vile pieces of filth.

I WORKED for what I have, they can do the same....or perish. No shame here dude.

  • o shut up

It is assholes like you who want to jail everyone and not try to help people

no wonder the world hates the USA

  • That was perhaps true in the past. However, in the last year or so, I've seen laid-off engineers, accountants, and college grads in general living in their cars.

If you were poor in 1959, you had no excuse. You faced no competition for jobs and careers in manufacturing were plentiful and didn't require so much as a HS diploma. In 2009, even college grads are hurting.

    America is f*cked.

  • @aegisforex I agree. There are less and less jobs available, and it is only going to get worse in the future. I think there will be many more homeless people in the future. I will probably be one of them.

  • The U.S. is the richest country in the world, yet there are millions of homeless people living in it.There is no excuse for this travesty...none.

  • If anyone is in need of medical or financial assistance, please visit us at NeedFinancialHelp (dot) org. We are non profit. We have helped many people get back on their feet and there are NO fees, we are free.

  • I was Homeless cause of my own doings. I chose alcohol/drugs but mainly alcohol over everything.

  • By the time I was even of a legal drinking age I was getting the shakes so bad I couldn't function without a drink.

  • Hi scumgod13!For my study I'm doing a research about young homeless people and people who were homeless. How old were you when you became homeless?

Could I get an short 'digital' interview with you?

  • You know what Id have no problem doing that but itd be kind of like posing as I could have always went home. Of course theres reasons I left there but there are a lot more qualified people that were actually homeless for a long time. I did a couple of summers in the park, in squats and on the Bike trail. Sleeping in alleys and such. I had every chance in the world smacked them away, choosing Drugs instead. You can PM me but i could hook you up with a lot more deserving friends of mine.

  • YouTube wouldn't let me put a 2nd comment. U said U'd wanted 2 talk to an abused woman. Problem is, if U'd done that U would've put her @ risk again. They go into hidin so their exes can't find them & drag them back down. I'm sorry to burst UR bubble but some of the 1's U interviewed R still there. I'm sorry that they R but they couldn't let go of their past or they got comfortable. I, on the other hand, am not. I was homeless for 2 yrs 8 mos & 6 days. I got my apt 3-7-09 & I will NEVER go back.

  • Yes, I can guarantee that MY life would be better if someone would open the Magic Money Spigot in the Sky and give us free health care and no taxes. And give me lots of money when my business fails due to my incompentence. Well, one out of two ain't bad.

  • @gregorama99 Free health care works here in Europe. If you think you have to pay for being safe when you're sick it's ok for you. Not for me.

  • The U.S economy is the causation of undue hardship on families. We would certainly have less homeless if we had less taxations, less insurances and a Nationalized health care. Plus, many, many people are only one paycheck away from being homeless.

  • I can't wait to be a bum. Then the government can stop raping my paycheck to pay for all the illegal alien beaners who crap out kids.

  • Ah yes, we should compare our society to third world societies to make us feel better about ourselves. After all, Sudan has children being raped, murdered and starving to death so that makes kids living on the streets or in homeless shelters in the wealthiest nation in the world ok! *dripping sarcasm*

I hope our aspirations can be a little higher than that!

  • every 3rd worlder thats 2/3 of the world is worse off.Theres lotsa jobs.3rds would KILL to live in america

  • my homeless interview video is better.. WATCH IT!

  • lol but most just are homeless for a while then they start to think society has given up on them and they start to think that selling or doing drugs and drinking alcohol will make it all better...

  • put them down, use beatles for something creative

  • watch family union charity foundation

  • watch family union charity foundation

  • im trying to make a change,im walking from calif 2 new york helping the homeless along the way.promoting human kindness,go give a sandwinch 2 some one with a smile give them hope,i was homeless once, armand young bamboothewalk/utube

  • i'm from a small european country. this social and financial crysis effects everyone, but here almost 90% of families have their own house or apartment, a roof over their heads.

in america, when you lose your job..you lose everything.

the difference between traditional way of living here..and a fastfood living in america is now shown.

homeless over the night. if i lose my job..i'll still have a place to live. thanks to my parents, and their parents parents.

  • how about putting this question to a homeless person.. if you were offered a job would you take it?

  • Some of them do work. Others lost their jobs. Others are disabled.

Single moms with children are the greatest in number. Can't afford the child care and work.

  • "Single moms with children are the greatest in number"

This is an untrue statement, Most Homeless people are single Males

  • They are the largest growing group, I guess I meant to say. That is what I have read, in any case.

I'm guessing accurate statistics are hard to come by.

  • Yes, there are a great number of single moms but numberwise, no, they are not the majority. Percentagewise, maybe, but not hard numbers. I agree with you that alot of people are homeless and bust their butts to get out. I was one of them. Alot of people are homeless through no fault of their own, I became homeless because my mother died. But I would have to say that mothers have it the hardest cuz they're trying to take care of themselves and their kids.

  • fstwrtr I was homeless. I did everything I could to get out of there. I bust my butt everyday at college and work to get out of there and I made it. Not all homeless people like the life they live. I was homeless for 2 yrs 8 mos and 6 days. I got my apt on 3-7-09 and I'm still busting my butt because I don't want to get comfortable and end up going back. I'm one semester away from my Associates Degree and will be starting on my Bachelors in the Fall at Texas Wesleyan University.

  • People that judge homeless people probably don't know any personnaly. I've counseled people that were ex-models and jetsetters who had Masters Degrees and wound up homeless. Don't ever think it couldn't happen to you..

"There but for the Grace of God go I."

  • Theres one question that would B illumiating for people 2 hear answered. "Are you a Vet?" You'd be amazed how many homeless R those that served & then were left with no resources 2 re-enter society. Its also worth noting that the homeless learn very quickly 2 evoke religion when they R aproached. Why? Christians are only inclined to help you if you submit to their ideology. Thats true all over the world. Theres a reason they call them Missions. The mission is to convert, not simply help.

  • thank you

  • I applaud your efforts at trying to show people the plight of homelessness but did you really have to go with the drunks and drug addicts? Ya know what? There are people who have been homeless for more than 2 years but are full time college students with part time jobs. My boyfriend and I are 2 examples. I have never and will never do drugs, and drink on an extremely rare basis. I am really offended by your video. SHOW THE PEOPLE WHO WANT SOMETHING OUT OF LIFE!!!!

  • everybody needs a chance...we have to give them motivation to live again because there lost...and it is true that majority of homeless people have a drug or alcohal problem

  • I hate to say it but you are wrong about the homeless majority being drunks and drug addicts. The fact is that the majority of the homeless most people SEE are drunks and addicts. The truth is that the age of the average homeless American is 9 years old. Meaning that there are more families with children out there in shelters and on the streets. I have lived on the streets and I have witnessed children and families on the streets.

  • Well said Art4TheHomeless! The majority of homeless R invisible 2 the average person walking down the street. They R single Moms who can't get ahead 2 secure any form of housing. They R children who R left in over-crouded daycare at shelters while their parent struggles 2 get them out of the situation. They R seniors who fell through the cracks or whose savings were eaten up by medical bills, or the death of a spouce. The guy on the corner is just the visible stereotype & tip of the iceberg.

  • Thank you for your comment. As I told Art4thehomeless I've done several papers for school on the homeless and my own personal homeless experiences and the problem is ya'll are some of the few people who realize that there's other homeless people not just the ones who beg for money and blow it on drugs and/or drinking. Thank you for not being closedminded.

  • Thank you for what you said. I have done several papers for college on homeless people & my experiences while being homeless & the numbers are scary. The homeless people that everyone sees walking downtown & such are not the "normal" homeless people. They're just the visible homeless. People don't know about the hidden homeless or working homeless, etc. because they never see them. So everyone assumes that every homeless person is exactly the same as the ones they see diggin in trash & such.

  • If I could of found people in your situation, I would have loved to interview them. Unfortunately, I couldn't. I'm sorry you feel offended. I would also have loved to speak with women who were forced to flee a domestic violence situation.

I would bet that most of the people I interviewed DO want something out of life.

    Just something to think about...

  • The thing is, if you'd wanted to find people in my situation it would've been more difficult than just walking up to the guy on the corner. I stayed in the UGM Women's Center. I only ever came out when going to school at 6AM or coming back or running errands. I'm sorry if you feel I've been mean or whatever but I get very irate when I see people who THINK they're representing the homeless when in reality they're misrepresenting the homeless.

  • @Midnight281980 Work harder.

  • @Distortionalized I always work hard. Now, please explain your comment.

  • Declare war on poverty....shoot a tramp!

  • Yes, there is a large population of homeless addicts but most people who see/show the homeless ONLY see/show THOSE people & it's not right when there are homeless people who work 40 hrs/wk, homeless people who go to school & work, etc., etc. I can guarantee you that if you saw my boyfriend and I walking around Downtown Fort Worth you would not peg us as homeless because we don't look/act like the stereotypical homeless person and it really offends me to see people sticking to that stereotype.

  • May God have mercy on each and every one of them and may every human being begin to have a burden for their well being and health at the very same level we care about our very own lives.

It is time for a heightened caring and awareness.

  • America is a shit hole.

  • The ones sucking osamas dick is the americans, no one else.

  • America is a shit hole

  • I used to be homeless. It wasn't because I didn't WANT to get a job, it was because I couldn't find one and I didn't have anywhere to live. Stop and think about what you say before you say it. You sound ignorant. Life IS hard in this country.

  • Good on you piratehooker. People are so ignorant about the causes of homelessness. Statistically all of us are 6 weeks away from being homeless. You could lose your job, relationship breakdowns, the economy, being in care, having mental health problems. No one has the right to judge.

  • Environmental regulation which is sometimes caused by racists, but most environmentalists are lazy career welfare bums, is the biggest cause of homelessness and poverty there is. Also the uS Constiution certainly makes it a federal crime (5th amendment) for anyone to ask anyone this question "Where are your parents?" which is certainly toture and laws against children running away from home are certainly in violation of the U.S. Constituation.

  • living inside for the last 2 months didnt get me employed.tomorrow i search for a better life on the streets.see you in portland(buddhist!)

  • Here are some more homeless people that America probably didn't know about:

The late hip-hop artist 2Pac had a bout with homelessness before he became a well-known hip-hop artist.

The 1st American Idol winner and award-winning pop music superstar Kelly Clarkson was temporarily homeless when she and her family were burned out of their home before she made it big as a music star.

Also, the Prophet Mohammed and Jesus were homeless at some point in their lives.

  • if you do a search for famous people who were homeless Nobel Prize Winners: 1 Nobel Prize Nominees: 2 (includes above) Oscar Winners: 6 Oscar Nominees: 10 (includes above) Emmy Award Winners: 8 Emmy Award Nominees: 11 (includes above) Grammy Award Winners: 9 Grammy Award Nominees: 13 (includes above) Best-Selling Authors: 6 Presidential Medal of Freedom recipients (U.S.'s highest civilian honor): 1 Knighthoods: 1 look at the big stars who were homeless at one time
  • Thank you, I didn't know that. Can you tell me the site where they have the names of these people whom recieved all these honors before or after they became homeless.

  • Deep inside, most Americans know why people are homeless. And the truth is that most Americans are just a pay check away from homelessness themselves but they would rather deny it, which may TEMPORALLY make them feel better about themselves. It seems denial is better than cure but in the end, every one seems to fall to the same ditch.

    I wonder why?
