Poetry is verbally communicating a message in a creative way (among other things). and i'm sorry, but "j'espère que t'as compris" doesn't sound all that creative to me. French is a rich language, if they wanted it to rhyme so badly, they could have found much more imaginative words IMHO.

I think her voice is stronger in the english version. I don't think the language difference is the issue, her voice just sounded better in the other one.
