@tank3890 Well, it's only an assumption that it's a post-apocolyptic world, due to the many references to a war happening prior to the series, and the knowledge that Salad Fingers is based on Earth (due to the technology, the appearance of a human, the houses, tree, etc...), but not on a baron Earth, or an unscaved Earth; the habitants and floral organisms are all mutated.

Also, there is a body of a soldier, recent enough dead that it still has clothes and skin traces, hence a recent war.
