Hey froogle, I run this game on my windows 7xp IBM think pad/lap top and only get an average of 5.1 FPS. Do u know of any kind of graphics card that i can get to help improve this for me? Thanks
@Hunter23Rivera I really don't know anything about how extensible ThinkPads are. I'm surprised it even runs on a ThinkPad though. Sorry dude - check out notebookreview dotcom and ask the question over there in the Thinkpad forums.
Dear froogle, I've been looking at this game for a few days now, and I'm wondering what you think of it. So that I can make a firm decision. please rate it 1-10 and how well does it run on the ol' m11x?
@spartan1173433 8. It runs really well on the M11x IF you can overcome the glitches. Performance is still hit and miss on many machines (even desktops) and the M11x suffers as a result. There are changes coming to address that. I give the game an 8 though. It's a huge amount of fun, love the sound, love the graphics adn the story. It's not massively innovative though so it doesn't get a 9 and no game is a perfect 10.
I traditionally solo MMOs too, and I think that's why I get bored with them. I am trying to overcome my antisocial tendencies with SWTOR. I have joined a small casual guild and ran two flashpoints with them so far but honestly I still usually just do my own thing as my guild is not very big or vocal.
@bionicRod You know, I'm still the same way. I still don't speak to people much etc etc. I have made a promise to myself though that today I will group up as much as possible, and be social.
I feel the same way as Pete when it comes to guilds. I hate dealing with other people. However, all my close friends and I have formed a guild with a few people we've met in the past. If I didn't have multiple friends in this guild I would not join a guild.
A topic I would like to see discussed (I have seen it on the official forums) is people rolling Need on loot drops in Flashpoints when their toons cant use the gear (but their companions can) Does a person in the group outway the need of a companion? (i say yes)
@ILOVELURKING Yeah this is a pain in SWTOR. I always roll greed but when I see another member of the group pick up an item for their companion that I could have done the same on it makes me regret it. Best thing to do is discuss this in group chat at the start of the instance or heroic.
As I am in Australia, and the game is not officially released here, but it has been announced that the release date will be around March and there will be local (ie actually in the region) servers.
I dont know if I should Guild up now as I may end up moving to a new Oceanic server when the opportunity presents itself. (I suppose I should find an Aussie guild already on my server and we can discuss this as a group)
I not joined a guild yet but I plan to now I got to level 50 y work paterns don't work out great for raiding but because star wars has no dungeons queues I think a guild is more essential but hard to say since not loads of level 50's yet but I played wow and while was often in guilds for raiding and things it was not that important for me, in rift I foudn I had to join a guild to do dungeons.
@MrFrumpleGrump I'm not a "Fan Boy" and I think "May the force be with you" is reallllly gay.. but playing as a trooper I dont hear or deal with any of that crap. In fact the only time someone says "May the force be with you" is during Warzones... Other then that my toon dosnt even know the force exists! He thinks they are all idiots who brought a glowing knife to a gun fight :D
1st, you would start thinking in lvl's :D "Hey I just kicked the Cat, lvl 2!" Then you would start organizing your moves by Cooldowns, and pause for global cool down. then you upgrade your cloths, because this shirt has 5 more endurance on it and a better crit ratio :D Finally... you'll walk around shopping, with a light saber ready to bash any imps(imperials) you see :D
FACT: Years and Years of tanking 2002 -2010, I was going to retire in FFXIV, but it sucked so I retired MMO's and went on living a videogame-less life. I was asked to come to SWTOR but I refused I was done with MMO's. Then one day, I was bored and did a little research, which lead to more research, ect So here I am out of retirement for.?
I hope that somewhat describes how amazing this game is. Yes it has its flaws, but so do our women, but we still love them
@MrFrumpleGrump you should come join the adventure then! A person's 1st MMO is amazing... Just like the 1st time you had sex, its new, fun, but after hundreds of different MMo's coming out (about 1 a month) its hard to find a quality one :D SWTOR is a quality one and if its your 1st, you'll have really high standards for the rest of your mmo life.
Triforce, is rumored to be good, Squad Two is rumored to be the biggest, Starship Enterprise is rumored to be the highest lvl. And thats all I've really heard so far. there are alot of Small guilds and I hope they start merging.
@EnmityDawning I think they will eventually, that was forced to happen in other MMO's I've played when Endgame became a challenge. I came from Squad Two....and they were fricken huge
To guild or not to guild. Eh, dosnt really matter ,Like Lumberjack said. Except for endgame and eventually as a guild makes its name, it gives a MMO social status.
In previous MMO's being in a top end guild would get you picked up by pugs ect before a member of a bad guild, imagine its dodge ball... And 1 guild has all the fat kids,... you dont want to be in that guild :D
To alot of people guild is the same as a sports team, you eventually know if they are good, or bad.
@EnmityDawning OMG you're right. Weird I always thought it was Emnity. Thanks for the clue bat. And yeah yeah on the leveling. This weekend I shall be going big.
