I think as a director he has a nice sense of style and build-up, but his plots of just gotten weaker and weaker as he's gone on. I had a film teacher who once said M. The Last Airbender is a classic case of why you should NEVER listen to fans when making a movie. Whenever he deviated from the source material it showed real promise, but no, the fans kept on bitching and moaning every step of the way. If you read all the complaints whilst the movie was being made now, the fans basically got exactly what they wished for...
