I'm NOT AT ALL a sports fan, but fuck these intrusive commercials. You guys just sit there and take it in the ass. Hell look what youtube has become.... an ad for every view (now mostly unskippable). At least here we're not paying for the content.... right?
@blakec33 or, you know, a punt and return. in overtime. in the nfc championship game. but who cares, right? no big deal. this was the 4th time, btw. but, like, whatever.
@blakec33 easy for you to say, 48 hours later. imagine you're actually watching the game in real time, though. (wait, first imagine you're a sports fan.) a single play - especially on special teams - has the potential to be uneventful or game-changing, or anything in between. and 30 seconds of game time is a LONG time (how long does it take YOU to sprint 100 yards?) - but again, whatever, nothing happened, right? an entire region is outraged for no reason.
@rubenstein your argument is moot because I have to imagine I am a sports fan for it to be relevant. It would have more impact to say imagine you were watching something important to you and it got interrupted by commercials at the most dramatic moment. I have had this happen countless times because sports run over their allotted time and cause my dvr to miss the end of a show. But I do not throw a fit and boycott my cable company because of it.
@rubenstein Also, you claim you will use this as evidence for leaving comcast when they had nothing to do with it. Do you think comcast said to fox "You need to play this commercial over an exciting moment. That way we ensure maximum viewers?" Leaving comcast because of this is like not using UPS anymore because Amazon shipped you the wrong product.

"the problems ... were caused by local-ad insertion equipment at local affiliate WTTG Fox -- not by something done by Comcast." ... ?

It appears you missed a replay. And possibly an incomplete pass, or a timeout. Nothing of consequence.

@rubenstein exactly, who cares! less than 30 seconds. And nothing of consequence happened while it was out.
