  • Xonotic would pwn all these games

  • what about quake 4, doom 3 and prey? those are very good games too!

  • did you forget minecraft?

  • Interesting games, but what are their names and how does one install them? For the n00bs, it should help to mention that everything is gratis.

  • where is amnesia the dark descent?

  • @DPthePcgamer this was before amnesia

  • xonotic, an open source fps with hands down the best gameplay of any shooter

  • what version of Linux you are running

  • @landoffire888 10.04

  • @lolxjks This is Ubuntu 10.04. Please notice that word "linux" alone refers just to system kernel. Ubuntu is a linux distribution. Others are: Fedora, Suse, Debian, Arch, Gentoo...

  • @lolxjks hahaha what version of linux are you running "10.04" that's awesome.

  • @landoffire888

What he means is he is running Ubuntu-Linux version 10.04.

Ubuntu is a "version" of Linux, a distribution. Linux is the over-arching name, like Windows 7 is a version of Windows, so is XP, Vista, etc.

  • The only thing what Windows gamers care is graphics.. Really? I dont need games with SUPER GRAPHICS. I think almost all Linux native games doesnt have any great graphics but they are great and fun games to spent time, i care about the idea in game, not the graphics. =)

  • @6250valtra Right on right on

  • Neverball!!

  • You want the top five native Linux games? Buy the Humble Indie Bundle 3. It's also for Windows and Mac.

  • @sonicheroes777 tnx for the suggestion

  • Pingus? Super Tux? Open Arena? Windowed mode? LOL, are we really in 2011? you must not to be...I'm playing Assassin's Creed 2: Brotherhood, and you?

  • @dersiraresmc Assassins Creed 2: Brotherhood thats a freaking fail and maybe you should read the title Top 5 NATIVE Linux Games there are tons of other games that you can play on linux using wine these games are the ones that work w/o wine and another thing the reason for windowed mode is because of the recording software

  • @lolxjks I readed the NATIVE word, and thats the reason of my comment, while games in Linux look like these, Linux will never become a playing platform. I love videogames, so i can't love Linux. I also know about Wine, but I think that since you have to use it, you are not playing under Linux itself, and anyways, Wine causes a lot of ingame bugs.

  • @dersiraresmc the only reason linux isn't a gaming platform yet is because of lack of support I bet you if Steam were to come to linux tons of games would be ported and it might even run better

  • @lolxjks You should consider buy some console If you want crying because not full screen. And if you Are thinking that Linux is not worth for gaming becasue you see online M$ $hits you should see Oil Rush

There is no problem port some games for Linux. Problem is with lazy developers and monatary system, everyone wants only profit which keep developers with Windows.

  • @angelxube yeah thats kind of my point once steam goes to linux developers will recognize it and support it more just look at what steam did to the mac

  • @angelxube Linux has some pretty cool games. For fun, I want to learn how to make games for it. I love the freedom that comes with linux. Don't get me wrong Microsoft has its uses, but right now I am not in the habit of buying more Drm plagued software. I keep Xp around to play my old windows games. What I notice, is that linux can play some old pc games on Wine pretty well. In some cases, it does a better job. I have a game called Heaven & hell.It runs smother in Debian with minor glitch.

  • @dersiraresmc Oh and I'm currently playing GT5

  • I beg of you for your recording software!

  • @BlenderBug gtk recordmydesktop

  • @lolxjks thank you :D

  • Your ubuntu is so beautiful :)

  • @TheJaakeee why thank you :)

  • Warsow is one of best first-person shooters I ever played on Linux. The graphics are outstanding!

  • Thank's!!!!

    What's your version of Ubuntu?

  • @zetlio it is 10.04

  • Doom 3

    0 A.D

    Sim city 3000

    Americas army 2

  • @TheFelixxRevolution ok tnx for the suggestions

  • @lolxjks just thought id share :) Americas army is only up to 2.5 they stopped linux support after that but there is still a small community

  • which distribution of linux u using?

  • @technocastle69 ubuntu

  • Have you tried sauerbraten great fast paced fps.

  • @TheLifelessPlanet i really dont care if i get thumbs down. it seems i set off a lot of linux pansys, including you.

  • @0neofthem nope you didn't set them off they just hate ignorance

  • @lolxjks Maybe they should do something about it instead of whining

  • @0neofthem haa they're not whining

  • @0neofthem They did do something about it. They dumped Windows and switched to Linux.

  • @0neofthem lmao another windows user with a microdick coming into a linux tutorial to rank on how bad linux is...lmfao....you know why we dont go into windows tutorials and say linux is better? because we dont have to...we know its better xD ...and if you have to do this to realize that you got ripped off when you payed 300+ for an FREE open source customizable BETTER operating system...come talk to me...btw go and take your ssd and stick it in 4 different computers at the same time....see if...

  • @0neofthem microsoft is still the good safe company you thought they were..when the fbi is putting you into one of their big black suv's because you broke the user licence....have a nice time with windows...before it crashes LMFAO xD

  • @0neofthem and excuse me i made a mistake in my first comment because i was laughing to hard...i meant to say 300 + for a SHITTY ass OS based on a 16 bit Operating system instead of linux XD ...have a nice day :]

  • You forgot Savage XR :)

  • Mby Urban terror native Ubuntu game

  • @0neofthem ok dude sure whatever

  • @0neofthem Sure.

  • @0neofthem average idiot..

  • @0neofthem Torvalds loves you too.

Also, Bill wanted me to let you know that he'll be releasing an extra special new operating system specifically for extra special kiddies like you. He hopes you'll enjoy your entirely restricted computer, unable to set themes without hacks, nearly entirely deprived of any user customization...

  • @TheUltimateHusky: Not even close to the truth.

  • @MDxm3000 Yeah, it's too bad that I was too lazy to read the long article listing all of the restrictions coming with it.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheUltimateHusky Not to mention a prodigious service pack that kills your $100+ investment!

Every OS has issues; just let everybody choose their crazy partner(s).

  • @0neofthem oh yea i forgot to tell you! we can run windows, mac, android, iphone, and mytouch games AND apps ass wipe xD

  • @0neofthem yah Ubuntu is pretty bad and these games aren't the best. linux has better 1's available. though if your a gamer, your better off staying with windows, for compatibility. i use linux cuz i dont do much gaming

  • @0neofthem I agree =D

  • which theme are you using in this video ?

  • @metal095 well im not all to sure but i think its dust

  • And people say Linux doesn't do games. I am proud to be a Linux gamer. no directx monopolistic bull crap. Opengl is the way to go

  • @Chintendoeddman lol. Linux only has like 2 or 3 decent games.

  • @Avatarass dude if you have ever used linux for more than 4 hours and you would know that is false linux not only has great games of its own but also has counterparts of windows games

  • @lolxjks i like your sarcasm, but really, i cant come up with more than 20 huge game titles on Linux.

  • @Avatarass Next time you get the chance to, open up Ubuntu software centre and look at the games. Playdeb.net is another good website. Wine runs your windows games. DJL is like Steam but for Linux games. And Valve is planning on porting Steam to Linux. And there are plenty of good games you can just simply download and install the old fashion way. Don't be a noob(as hard as that is for you.)

  • @Chintendoeddman wine is a pile of shit, i have no time to do look for software, i want to install the game and play it. I had 3 different Linuxes, in everyone of them WIne glitched during installation, and to fix it,you have to have a good knowledge of command prompt, hell, like not just Wine, with every Linux software. After installation you have to spend a shit load of time on setting it up. Screw that. Noob? hah, Linux will become widely used when they fix its interface, that is when pigs fly

  • @Avatarass So you are telling me that you would rather search up a bunch of different sites the manually download the game then install instead of clicking one button to do that (and you can install several games at once)? Have fun with that

  • @Chintendoeddman I dont need to search, I have Steam. lol noob.

  • @Avatarass Arguing with you is like arguing with a brick.

  • @Avatarass Oh yeah and I also have steam......noob.

  • @Avatarass stereotipinis lietuvis esi, gėdą darai ne tik sau, bet ir Lietuvos vardui.

  • @GhoulZP fu guk

  • Comment removed

  • @Avatarass Why the fuck complain about something that is free?!

  • @Avatarass there are many different interfaces for linux... and most linux software, from the distros repos at least works right away, though sometimes requires "setting it up" as if you don't do that in Windows

  • @defenestratebob im gonna wait for 8 months before i give you my response as well

  • @Avatarass lol it bothers you that i didnt answer right away? anyway your response isnt important enough to me to be sad i have to wait lol

  • @defenestratebob it appears to my that this conversation is important enough to you to revive it after 8 months it was over.

  • @lolxjks I'm a long long term linux user and yeah, the games are shitty. There are some good games don't get me wrong but over all its hard to find a game worth playing.

I use linux regardless however because gaming isn't really part of my internal rating system for an Operating System.

  • @ov3rcl0cked yea dude i know most games are shitty but a lot of people have misconceptions that it has no games but it does as shown in this video

  • @Avatarass Well Call of Duty has Native Linux clients so I guess that sucks. Savage 2 is also pretty bad. And Valve's plans for porting STEAM to Linux...... WTF. Steam obviously has no good games. Neverball is out of the question. Enemy Territory sucks as well. I completely agree. But you spend all of that time you need updating your drivers with windows. And how could I forget Direct X's speed. I feel like I need to drink coffee playing windows games (on windows).

  • @Chintendoeddman I have a lot of machines, some have Linux, some have Windows. as much as i dislike the corporate conqueror-ness of MS, DirectX is definitely superior to OpenGL in the technical sense.

  • @kingcrimson234: But man do I miss the old days.. wheń games came with both API's for graphics.

  • Native Linux Games or Native & Free Linux Games?

  • @chadkellycolorado Native and FREE

  • @lolxjks Try Savage 2 (native and free) and Heros of Newerth (not free) to see if they make your top 5.

  • @chadkellycolorado yea i should have included savage but it was still downloading at the time plus the first time i started it it was all white so i wasn't able to include it in this vid
