I was there had to stomp and knock over 100 people to get out .. do i regret it ''' hell no ... only the strong survive fuck the rest... but props to the crispy critters that didn't make it out.... lol it was a hell of a night just wish the body count was higher. to watch it burn to the ground and hearing the screams of the people trapped inside was a laughf riot . still makes me laugh when i think back on that wonderful fun filled night...
@beerosterm- you're quite the asshole. Mrcelorapa was expressing his condolences to these poor people and you take your anger out on him? Ridiculous! I believe those poor souls are with God now. If you don't believe that, that's your prerogative but don't spread your vitriol and hate on here just because you don't know how to be a big boy and deal with your emotions.
I pray to God for these unfortunate people of this terrible night. That He has saved their souls. First of all, this video deserves respect. Respect for the souls of those who died so tragically. I knew about the tragedy by TV news at that time and I was astonished to see that is a Great White gig, since I always enjoyed the band! The owners of nightclubs should think in such situations to prevent tragedies. My sympathy for the victims and their families.
@mrcelorapa Shut the fuck up! If it isn't painfully obvious there is no God after this, then you're truly and hopelessly lost. Where the fuck was God when these people lay dying of smoke inhalation 2 minutes after the fire started? Where was he? Where was he? Where the fuck was he, you stupid, ignorant brainwashed hillbilly? Do everybody a favor and keep the mention of God out of it.
@beeroosterm Apparently you have some anger issues. That fact that you mention God several times you have a issue with Him. Then deal with Him so you don't spend the rest of your life in anger. The one that is ignorant and brain washed is you with your comments. Get right with God and you'll do better. If you want to challenge Him, go for it. Just wait for a reply. This was horrible tragedy and we may not know the reason behind it. :-(
@AJuarez764 Do I have "a issue" with anger? Yes, you stupid hillbilly - I certainly do. What tipped you off? Can't have problems with a supernatural being that doesn't exist. The problem I have is with superstitious dickwads who somehow cannot bring themselves to live in the modern world - that is, the post-Renaissance world where reason and reality rule the roost. You and your kind make me sick.
@beeroosterm Well first of all am not a hillbilly, so your wrong there. Tipped me off? Nobody just reading your comments. Can't have problems with the supernatural? Seems like you do. You commented it several times, your fault. I live in "modern world" as you mention, tell me something I don't know. Reason and reality rule? again tell me something I don't know. If your sick take some meds and get better. And your anger issues? Go see a doctor, that will help. Best wishes.
So Sad I remember watching this unfold on tv on all channels..I was heartbroken..then my feelings turn to anger againts Great White..when i realized why the fire begin with..Great White came there before there little concert..they saw the room that they had on stage..they saw the whole lay out..they should of said..Nope no fire works in this place..outside in open area..maybe..but in that small ass joint..commen sense should of said no!..sorry how i feel
they also enclosed the section of the dance floor with pieces of dry wall, funneling them all out the main two door entrance. They also blacked all the windows, for more dim lighting, so people did not know there were actually windows feet from them. The buildings fully involved in five minutes.
I have to wonder how many survivors were found after the fire was finally put out or at least pushed towards the back; I saw video when they did pull out several (I am guessing near the main entrance) but does anyone know many?
none.... not one. the ones pulled out were corpses or people right at the doorway, if you are referring to the original video. if you look at the video and the guy looks in the door around back, see all that black smoke choking the air a foot off the ground? noone can survive that. its so hot it might as well be fire. and even if they aren't burnt alive, if they breath it in and are pulled out and brought to a hospital, their lungs will be burnt beyond what modern medicine can repair.
@johnsmithy667 Interesting. Well I saw they were taking some people out in the stretchers so was not sure if there was people right there at the doorway who were lucky enough to have survived. I've seen the unedited version and know how the flames were shooting out that doorway. I guess it was just wishful thinking that someone or some, could have survived in that general area.
@Rogentx I think the only "survivors" per say were the people who had been burnt & gotten out before the firetrucks got there. Rarely do people "survive" or are found alive AFTER fires. And I mean rarely as in, you're more likely to survive a plane crash into a mountain than be found alive in the "aftermath" of a fire. Firefighters go into burning structures and die even with full turnout gear, scba, ect., never mind someone without the training or any of that. Notice at 4:55. Complete silence.
@johnsmithy667 Actually,at least 2 people survived, they were actually rescued from the front door by the FD,and at least 1 mnaged to escape with relatively minor injuriesbecause they were found at the bottom of the pile at the front door and were literally shielded from the heat, smoke and flames by the stack of bodies above them. You can actually watch their rescues on the videos posted by olauf1 over there >>>>>>
I'm not trying to be pessimistic but if you study only a few cases of deadly fires you'll understand how unlikely it is to survive that scenario. That time reference was to the original video and if you really listen, as soon as he goes near that door there is utter silence. There are so many factors that could have/had kill those people; smoke, heat, being trampled by other people... I could go on and on, but I think I've proven my point.
@johnsmithy667 Point was proven by the first comment you left me, no worries. And I just noticed some people were carried by the camera in strechers so that is why I was curious if they were in fact from inside the building near the bottleneck, within the building itself, although I had my doubts despite my questioning. It didn't hurt to hope though. There has been survivors in some very horrific scenes of carnage, unfortunely, it wasn't to be in this video apparently.
@journeyquest1 I've seen that video several times. I couldn't tell what was worse; seeing the people trapped in the door (and someone who came out literally engulfed in flames) or hearing the people trapped inside screaming.
I remember when this happened. I lived right down the street from the club. My mom was supposed to go that night but she couldn't find a sitter for me and my brother. I remember for like 3 weeks straight it just smelled horrible, burning flesh and etc.. so gross. and the reason why so many died was because bouncers that ran the club that night refused to let people out of certain exits. they should be trialed for murder
Perhaps the worst thing about all this is the fact that the band Great White did the very same performance a week or so earlier in a New Jersey club with the same pyrotechnics show which also started a fire except they were able to quickly contain it and put it out.
@kurtmorr A couple of years ago I saw the lead singer on a news segment ...he had a face lift and was showing off the results. It would have been nice if the money for that surgery had went to a victim of the fire.
@kurtmorr The REAL worse thing about this is the state of Rhode Island let this happen. The statute of limitations never run out on murder. The fire Marshall let this happen. His superiors let thsi happen. Instead they created a witch hunt for Anheuser Bush and JBL speakers (like jbl did this) and the foam company.
@analyzingfunny I understand your anger but it is misdirected. The fire marshall had as much to do with this fire as JBL or Home Depot. The building was up to code for the time it was inspected.
I come across building all the time where I am AMAZED that it passed inspections and fire codes only to find out it was built 20+ years agao. This HORRIBLE accident was a culmanation of MANY factors.
RIP: To all who passesd. And compasion and prayers to the Famalies and Injured
@marcusdolby1 How do derive anger from print? That was spoken just as calm as Im typing now. Just setting the facts.
One: the ceiling had some sort or black tar substance with stupid plastic reflective fragments (thousands of them. They are fuel, and the tar substance was too.
Two: The building had an addition that would have canceled the grandfather clause.
Three: They would have had to put in sprinklers and bigger doors.
So in conclusion, the State is responsible for murder.
@analyzingfunny Sorry about the implied anger part...... I guess I am wrong. But to say the state is responsible is far fetched at best. Although I understand what your saying, we can agree to disagree.
@journeyquest1 It's not only that, it's the fact that the exits weren't properly marked, and most ordinary people don't have training not to panic (and do panic), and also when you get too much CO in you're lungs you start to lose the ability to function properly and a lot of people were overwhelmed. If you see the video of how the fire started, you'll see just how quickly it spread. I'm a firefighter and I've never seen a building get engulfed so quickly
@journeyquest1 They couldn't all get out because everyone went to the main entrance...MOST anyway. Many escaped through the barroom exit, some out the kitchen door and some the stage door. The club was way above capacity so that also is a major reason they all couldn't get out not to mention the black smoke and the power going out.
Can you imagine what a ghastly site it would have been after all the fire was put our and the dead bodies were removed...Omg! the poor people...i just really hope that they didnt suffer too much..i can't begin to imagine the horror they would have been feeling trying desperately to "LIVE,Not wanting to DIE"...sends chills down my spine...those poor souls,God rest all of them.
@MovieMATTINEEChannel They died of suffocation due to all the toxic smoke. That's the worst way to ever die, Trying to leave while the toxins are killing you from the inside in just 30 seconds. Tragic :(
It just makes me sick to my stomanch that those responsible let this happen...those poor people...i can't watch this video again..i can't stop crying. :((
