  • i wonder if people went to equus just to see dan radcliffe cause hes harry potter.

  • I'm sure many did, but perhaps they got caught up in the play after the novelty of seeing him wore off.

  • Did I tell you that you were the best?

  • Yeah, but you can say it again ;-)

  • Even with what we disagree on still, you are far ahead of the rest. What a difference one little thing can make. THE BEST! :)

  • yay at australians at 9:09 wooh i can just ehar them...

  • Now that you mention it, I hear them too.

  • I saw Equus last week and it was UHMAZING!! Unfortunately, I went to a matinee, and no one from the cast came out. I will be going back in a few weeks to try and meet Dan and the rest of the talented cast. =)

  • He is quite friendly. Richard Griffiths was accomodating, but Daniel seemed to enjoy interacting with the crowd.

  • I accidentaly met Dan before Equus last week when I was going to see Phantom of the Opera! The video is called "Meeting Dan Radcliffe - Before Equus NYC" He was very nice...for the 4 seconds he was in the video =)

  • Daniel is cute!

  • Yes, but I felt like a pedophile thinking that. He is very small, like a child.

  • lol, size doesn't matter!

  • Get your mind out of the gutter, Felix :)

  • Are you listening to Chris Crocker? Oh men!

  • Thanks for showing me something new Phil. Not being a big theatre fan, i never knew this sort of thing actually happened. It's good that the actors take the time to sign & chat :)

  • I'm glad you watched, Andy.

  • thank you, Phil

  • Thank you for watching.

  • Hi i am patti lupone Driver and she is a very cool person everything was perfect thanks fantastic babblings for everything you are a very good person too.

  • Thank you so much for giving me an interview.

  • Thanks for standing in line for all of us!

  • My pleasure.

  • One of my all time favorites Equus and Richard Griffith! How neat! Thanks for sharing this, wish I could have seen the play...think you can sneak the camera in? :)

  • I wish, but then I would get thrown out without getting my money back, and these tickets are $116!

  • I saw Patti Lupone in Evita a couple decades back - amazing.

I am not much a celeb stalker nor do I get the whole autograph thing (maybe I'm too shy), but the stage door is a more intimate sort of thing than other venues where you might seek autographs or catch a glimpse of the stars. I have met several a-listers (you know - the left cost type and not these real actors of the theatre! lol)but never have met a *normal* one! haha

  • One of the things about the stage door phenom is that when the door opens people get keyed up, and when not-so-famous actors come out, there is sometimes an audible groan of disappointment. I feel bed for those guys and sometimes want to cheer for them just on principle.

  • I like the underdogs too :)

  • Thanks for sharing this. I've never had the opportunity to see a broadway play. Patti LuPone is awesome! Thanks, Grams

  • She is awesome. And she has had quite a varied career, not just the diva roles, but a wide range of serious acting jobs for over thirty years.

  • Oh, I know, that's what is so great about her. So versitile and so down to earth! Thanks again, Grams

  • I have to say, I am slowly becoming a big fan of Richard Griffiths. He was amazing in History Boys, I've come to really respect him. I'm attempting to get Equus tickets as we speak...do you have any idea if they're sold out for some time like some people are saying? I also saw Gypsy a few months ago and Patti was wonderful. Thanks for this stagedoor footage, I haven't been in years...I should start going again. :D

  • There are some tickets available, but they are going fast. It is scheduled to run only until early February. Sometimes limited runs are extended, but not always. They are only selling tickets through Feb 8. I haven't seen it, but I did see History Boys. Richard Griffiths is wonderful. He represents old fat guys (like me) beautifully :)

  • Wow Boyd really knows how to work that gum.

  • Yes, he was chewing up a storm. I have followed his career since Heidi Chronicles. He is a terrific actor.

  • Funny to see the crowd differences between the 2 shows.

  • Do you mean the number of people? Because I saw both shows and there is no differerence between the type of audiences, people from all ages (from 20 years old to older ones) both men and women go to see these shows... But I have to say Equus audience was better behaved.

  • There had been a lot more people waiting at Gypsy, but the show runs much longer and Patti didn't come out until almost midnight, so the crowd had thinned a little. Also, Gypsy has been running awhile; Equus just started previews. When I saw the show over a month ago, the stage door crowd was about triple what it was this time.

  • Thanks Phil! That was great. That is something I would not be able to see!

  • Glad you enjoyed it.

  • OMFG MATT.

    HES ALWAYS HOLDIING PATTI'S STUFF.

    gahhhh

  • Hey, the man has to do something to earn his keep :)

  • How very exciting! I know, I love t hang out after for autographs!

I'm sure New York is a lot different than community theater! :)

  • I never get autographs (unless it is for someone else). But I like the whole stage door milieu. I enjoy the excitement, and I like seeing celebrities. Most of them are quite accessible and will chat with you.

  • I thought did Equus only once. I guess he still does it.

  • Dan played Equus in the West End (London) and it was a big success (both audience and critically acclaimed) so he is performing now on Broadway (New York) for a limited run of 6 months, and it's being a huge success too.

  • OMG you met Harry Potter (swoons).

    He looks little.

  • No, he saw Daniel Radcliffe. A very talented young actor playing Alan Strang in Equus.

  • Maybe he is little if we talk about height but he is big if we talk about kindness, talent, been polite, educated and grateful. :)

  • I agree.

  • He is short, but many actors are. He is very friendly, downright chatty. He was engaging directly with many people in the crowd. Quite charming.

  • Awesome... I miss being able to go to NY all the time.

I was lucky enough to see Patti Lupone in Evita years ago... she rocks

  • Hey, Diana. You have been on my mind this weekend. I finally got around to starting my first batch of Limoncello, which is aging as I write. But did you know you can't buy grain alcohol in New York State? I had to settle for 160 proof Vodka. Damn. I'm sure it will be good, but not as good as yours. Once it is done, I'll go have a toast with Patti LuPone. Wanna join me?

  • Very cool! Harry Potter and Corky's mom! :)

  • That's the kid's name. I couldn't remember. Thanks. Like Diana I first saw Patti in Evita three decades ago. I saw her in Gypsy last month. She is a force of nature. One of the great stage divas. I also saw her in Sweeney Todd a couple of years ago (playing the tuba, no less). It was a blatantly sexual performance and quite good.

  • Awesome Footage Phil New York Is The Place Of Great Plays And Brodway Shows!

  • There is always so much going on here. I try to keep a camera with me anytime I go outside.
