I would like to see this film that I found through my favorite actor, but unfortunately it can't find it anywhere, could someone give it to me in English, please?

I would say my 5th favorite film of the decade. absolutely amazing, after the 6 hours i didnt even wanna leave. the acting and directing is so good u feel like ur part of the family.

Most films that aspire to capture epic, multi-generational stories have a great deal of difficulty with a cinematic form, but this film makes it seem effortless and natural.
I cried like a baby at least 3 times in this movie. This is from a guy who is emotionless. It's a very powerful movie, one of my favourites for sure. SO many powerful scenes. It is long, but I was never bored, funny. I watch a Hollywood movie and am bored to tears. The character of Matteo was one I could relate to more than another character in film. It just represents life so perfectly and its turns, the way that we are all connected and the greater good at the end.

I know it's not possible to draw a comparison between this movie and an other saga, "Once upon a time in America": there isn't here Robert De Niro, but I'm sure this movie will be reminded as one of the best of italian and international cinematography. The players, all players, performed their characters as good as possible, expecially Luigi Lo Cascio, that I consider one of the best italian actor at the moment (he made his debut on "I cento passi", still directed by Marco Tullio Giordana).
I watched it twice, and will watched it again when some bad movie is out =( ...

And then Mirella, it felt like she was treated unjustly and her love was hurt, she was hurt. So even it's a movie I would like to know if she's actually okay and say that I feel for her. What was her name, Maya something. Or am I too sensible

It's sad that this is probably one of the five best films ever made and 99.999999999...% of the world's population will never watch it because of its run time.
Oh well, that doesn't stop me from making an effort to pimp this movie out as much as I can so I can finally convince someone to watch it. People don't know what they're missing.

Why is there a blurb on the back of the DVD case that says, "In the tradition of Scorsese and Coppola" when the movie is a direct descendant of Visconti's Rocco and His Brothers (an alternate title could've been Luigi and His Brother). That being said, if your heart doesn't catch in your throat when Matteo TOSSES his life away, well, then you're not human.
It is the song that plays a few times in the entire series. As I mentioned, the song which is played over the scene in the country with the kissing and letting Matteo go.
@TacticaLGS I know this reply is way too late, but the piece you're thinking of is "Catherine et Jim" by Georges Delerue, from his score for Truffaut's film "Jules et Jim".
I'm not sure if this is right, but I think a country has to nominate one film per year as it's choice for "best foreign film" to the oscars. And then the oscars pick the 5 films it thinks are best from all those that countries nominate. So if Italy didn't nominate this amazing film for consideration, it couldn't have been selected as a contender for the oscars. Even so, I love this film. It was beautiful
