@JustMumbles1 There are comparisons between Haake/Meshuggah and Fear Factory, due to similar themes. This record borrows alot from Meshuggah, whether you'd like to admit it or not. Hoglan, however, kinda pisses all over Haake here and owns his style. You, being a 12 year old emo kid who thinks Panic at the Disco is hardcore and revolutionizing, couldn't even understand the point I was making.
haha. First heard this band when I was like 12 and into slipknot. Someone was selling Obsolete on ebay and said 'like slipknot'. Heard it then and hated it, put it away for a long time. Now my favourite bands are Tool, Meshuggah, Nine inch nails, Opeth and thanks to a rummage round in old albums...Fear factory!
@SnakeSalmon8izback not sure but maybe they get there imspiration from the Termnator movies like there 3rd album remanufaction was inspired by the Terminator movies
Archetype is a Great album, Transgression was a little disappointing to me though. Christian is a Great guitarist and he did amazing when he stepped from bass. but lets all face it Dino Is The True Fear Factory Guitarist and so happy hes back! and its cool they have Gene as a drummer now but in a way i wish that it was the original Lineup...but all in all Great come for Fear Factory
This album is just as Dino described it, "The Future of a Classic". When I am 85 (God willing, lol), old, gray, and in my nursing home, I will have this song BLARING, along with Iron Maiden, Lamb of God, Opeth, and Megadeth. Keep supporting metal!
@TheDudeAbides281 Anthrax Slayer Overkill Dethklok System Of A Down Slipknot Disturbed Fear Factory ehhh....what else...? oh yeah Judas Priest and Pantera :D anything else?
Genres are really just there to help people understand a bands sound, if someone asked you what genre these guys play you might say something like Industrial Metal which would help the other person better imagine what FF sound like.
@picassopainter2 did i mention any genres? i just said this is on the weaker end of metal... u cant exactly say that industrial metal and technical death metal are on the same plane.
i was just pointing out that if he thinks this is way to hard or too fast he knows nothing of metal.
so please go call someone else a poser.
there is no point in arguing genres but there is a point in classifying genres. if something doesn't fit in any, no biggie. but each genre has its own distinct properties.
@darktrexcz You make a good point. It seems like alot of conflict arises over something as trivial as genre classification. I guess everyone has their own perception on what a band/artist's style is to them. But at the end of the day we can all agree the music itself is killer. That's all that truly matters isn't it? ; )
@darktrexcz I would say Iron Maiden and Blind Guardian are on the weaker end. Both mainly focusing on melody, harmonies, epic vocals and shredding solos. This song was not exactly meant to be a ballad, anyways.
@Grekis11 wow you think you know everything. ppl like you are the reason metal bands are struggling. perhaps you should listen to a different kind of music considering you obviously dont know what the fuck you are talking about.
Agreed. I don't normally like to leave biased comments on here but this is not a Fear Factory classic. It is good, but Fear Factory used to be way better. Still love em, no doubt
@dswyewtoob It's not an opinion it's fact. Saying that this is classic FF would only be possible if you started listening to records after digimortal was released and hadn't listened to any of the albums before it. Saying that this song is great is an opinion. Saying that it's classic is plain wrong.

This just shows that metal is going in circels nowadays, they're recreating the wheel so to speak.
Everything has already been done, and to make the songs faster and more intense is just making it unlistenable and boring.
