I like Raiden in MGS2 but I prefer the Cyber Ninja Raiden in 4 and I especially like the Raiden/Rose ending in 4 where they renew their relationship in 4 and Raiden says that he is done running.

I don't understand what people hated about Raiden. okay, it's probably because MGS2 was my first MGS, so it was basically my "first mission", so Raiden was a perfect character for me. Had long blond hair myself back then, but my hair was even longer. More like Liquids xD.

The only reason why people hate Raiden is because he's different. People now days can't accept people who are different. That's the biggest problem with the modern society. Just because Jack is different doesn't mean he's the worst character in the series. In fact, he's my favorite character so far.

I gave Raiden a chance after the initial surprise/shock at his appearance as the primary player character/protagonist in MGS2 then I satisfied with him as the lead (he's no snake but he'll do just fine just like Nightwing/Dick Grayson is no Batman but he's still a cool superhero) and found him somewhat compelling (his backsory was pretty dark and badass and his reactions/emotions towards the events in the game mirrored my confusion) plus he can do flips woohoo and he has a babe to flirt with.

@nonamexg18 However if you were "let down" by not being able to play as Snake, were counting on eventually playing as Snake in the future, or could not get past the physical design of Raiden (he's androgynous and everyone complined how come I never hear the same amount of hate for like every Final Fantasy/ Square Enix leading dude) then there was no way anyone even Kojima himself could convince you that Raiden was good enough to lead his own game (which Kojima has tried).

I like MGS2 jack more than MGS4 jack mainly because you don't know that much about him in MGS4 other than he saved sunny in area 51 n that he probly replaced his body cuz of wounds from the rescue mission.

ROse looks too much like Paramedic aka Dr Clark. She looks bit more sexier but still reminds me too much of Paramedic lol Love shaking her tits with the motion controller....hehehe.

@MetalBlossom606 yep, same here - i liked the idea of playing as Raiden throughout most of the game because it gave an "outsider" look at the world Snake fights for, and his impact. Focusing so much on a character besides Snake creates a more tangible world that we can believe in.
