  • IS THAT A SHINE GUITAR??

  • @dru42or3 I'm playing a Yamaha AES1500B that has been equipted with Gibson Country Gentleman pickups. It's a great playing guitar. What is a SHINE guitar?

  • @bgdenham I JUST STUMBLED ON THE SHINE GUITAR. THEY ARE CHEAP KOREAN GUITARS, THAT COPY STANDARD ARCH TOPS GIBSON/GRETSCH AND TELE/STRAT/LESPAUL.

  • One of my favorites there Bill..good picking buddy..KOP...Bill

  • @KyThumb Thanks, I'm glad you like it.

  • Billy, do you play regularly at any of the local jam sessions in the Soddy area?

  • My brother and I played last Saturday at the North County Jam in Sale Creek. I use to go to Charlie Taylor's garage on Friday nights, but I do security work on Friday nights now. Send me your email and I can let you know when I do. Thanks

  • I just confirmed today that my brother and I will be playing at the Bakewell Music Festival Saturday April 17th at 7;00 pm.

  • Often I just let you play in the house when I am going about my things, your better than a radio! I let my girlfriend hear you the other day and she said "Why are there two people playing at the same time"? ;-) That's talent! I play myself and I wonder..... why bother after hearing you play... but I am thinking of trying to learn this and you will be my inspiration.

  • "Why bother after hearing you play", I'll tell you, because hearing someone else play doesn't even compare to playing it yourself. It's a whole other ballgame. Go for it! You can do it, and I will help all I can. How about if I send you the CD of mine that has Trambone on it? Throw it on your player and play along.

  • I was spellbound and still am. I gave you five stars Plus one more because you play so soulfully.

  • I am deeply touched that you are so blessed by this student of the guitar. Thanks

  • * * * * * + *

  • You started to say something? The difference between this and the other version is here I'm playing along with my own CD recording, which is a little different. Thanks

  • I checked out many of your tunes. I like 'em all. Nice playing.

  • MrJimdeb, Thank you very much.

  • Still jammin' with you !

  • Sounds like you're having all the fun, shucks!

  • 5* Excellent

  • Good arrangement and good playing

***** If you like Chet see my channel

  • One of my favorite Chet-tunes; great picking, Billy.

    Martin

  • Some ask me why I don't use the Bigsby on this tune. I say, there are two reasons. 1) I'm not Chet Atkins, 2) I didn't own a guitar with a Bigsby until I was 40, by then I was already set in my ways. Thanks, Billy

  • Man,you are great. I have this on an old 45RPM record by Chet Atkins and it has always been my favorite. You sure do the song justice! (Do you by any chance know the song on the flip side called "Blue Echo"? Would love to hear you do it)

  • Blue Echo is one of my favorites too. Like many Chet tunes, I played it years ago, but I haven't set down and picked through it in a long time. I have to give it a shot. Thanks

  • Cant get enough,

Chet's gone but his legacy continues,

    Thanks very nice work.

  • Chet himself is gone, but his music lives on in thousands of guitar players, of which I am proud to be one. Thanks, Billy

  • Just when I learned your original version, you go and change it just a bit.... Slowed it down and sounds Great!

  • Sorry about that. I rarely play a tune exactly the same way twice. On the other version I played solo and I tend to speed things up when I play by myself. I also added a little single string improv. Glad you like it. Now, get this one down.

  • good job!

    thanks for sharing!

  • Billy,
