  • i love how graham always has these getups to wear

  • A bit of class!

  • God I love oasis!

  • Always loved this performance and song. Would watch it on my VHS tapping once in a while. Thanks for posting.

  • The choir isnt as good as on the album version

  • @lonewolf091 Are you kidding?????The Harlem Boys Choir probably had one rehearsal whereas the recorded version got to be edited. These beautiful kids were inspired and inspiring.

  • best uplifting song since hey jude. and none been better yet.

  • watch?v=46CNp89_52Y

  • When blur was on Letterman doing Song 2, Alex was wearing shorts now he's an oversized parka.

  • I guess Letterman wouldn't let Alex smoke.

  • Graham's cap!♥

  • I love this song

    I like much

  • i wonder if damons smirk at 1:12 is beacuse he saw the choirs head bopping in the monitor.

  • His new Gorillaz album (Plastic Beach) is great, I wish he would come out with a new Blur album.

  • Che Dio E Piezz....

    What a song....

  • Brilliant!

  • The Choir "ruins it"?

Listen to the production on the original CD. This is virtually the only way that you could reproduce this song live!

  • @cfov Search 'Tender basico 40' That's quite a different version and really good.

  • I was in the audience! This was filmed March 29, 1999. Hard to believe 10+ years ago! Diane Lane and Marv Albert were guests. David Letterman isn't anything like he used to be, glad he is still around though! Nice post!

  • I think the Harlem Boys Choir is what makes this a very poignant version -- they so get into singing back-up with their unison dance moves -- each chorus a bit different move. And some of those young kids are soooo joyous as they sing.

  • I agree with you. They look so joyful just to be singing. It just made me happy to watch. :D

I was soo overjoyed when this came on the radio earlier this morning because it was FINALLY a good song. It saved my day from being miserable!

  • Yeah I think even Damon and Graham seemed to have been tickled/moved by those young gospel voices.

  • la caterica, frate

  • isn't the guy standing on the right of Damon (playing Violin or something) from Radiohead?

  • it's a double bass,

and no it's not jonny greenwood, it's alex james, the bassist from blur

  • oh well. i'm not that familiar to blur, though i love their music. but thanks for the response.

  • unsurprisingly , considering this is blur

  • AWESOME DAMON

  • he never hated it. in fact he co-wrote it with damon.

  • I took me a while to sort of get used to this song but after hearing it a few times I couldn't help but love it.

This is a great live performance of it.

  • Chills

  • loves it!!!

  • Impressive

  • it actually is the worst vocal performance. why are you giving him thumbs down? it's the worst but it doesn't mean that it isn't at least decent

  • Because if you dare to say anything on Blur video boards that isn't either a) an unqualified vaunt or b) a comment on Damon's 'hotness', you're scum!

I think Albarn intentionally fucks up his voice here.

  • Damon is so hot

  • This is the best version of the song modafocas.
