Thank you for this! I have finally heard someone (after all these years) teach the way God has taught me in His Word. I have ministered to many people and it never ceases to amaze me how some things just do not click. Of course we know people are lead away with lies because of the position of their own heart. The Holy Ghost teaches us all truth!
@runrunawaynow He did not change His mind. What He had in mind was fulfilled by Jesus (Matthew 5:17). The law was a schoolmaster to lead us to Christ (Galatians 3:24-25), but unfortunately many people left Christ for the schoolmaster (Galatians 5:4).
Also in 1st Timothy 4:4] For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
[5] For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
Amen...the blood we do not eat or drink like the pagan worshipers do...
Acts 21:25] "As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written and concluded that they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication."
Praise the Lord those laws about clean and unclean where there for one simple thing, God in the old testament days wanted a people to himself...No other nation around Israel where keeping all those laws and regulations that they had under Moses etc. Now Jesus said this Luke 11:[41] "But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and, behold, all things are clean unto you." Peter was still an old testament Jew he wanted to keep the law of Leviticus in Acts 10
This is the best teaching on this subject I've ever come across thanks brother Hicks I'll put you up on my you tube channel and facebook I bless you and your family brother and I thank the Lord for this wonderful anointed message this day In Jesus name Amen.
@dfstarborn Thank you for the edifying words. I pray that the teaching is a blessing to those dear people that see it on your Youtube Channel and Facebook page. May the Lord bless and keep you.
This was a blessing to me and I would like to share one with you. You say that you don't eat some meats due to what they are putting in them nowdays. But remember this verse
Mark 16:18.They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
That is why we pray over our food for the Father to bless it,for He knew of the pesticides& sorcery potions that they would feed the sick animals beforehand.Blessings
@afaithfulone4you Amen, I do agree, but I think if you know about the quality of meat then you still eat it you can get into an issue of tempting God. We have to be very careful to not refuse normal reasoning because we think that we can do something that will make us sick and God will bail us out.
If someone has to ask if something is permissible then they already know the answer and to partake of it is to sin because they are doing something doubtful. We should have the Spirit of God and His wisdom. We know what relations are for and what things are perversions of the way God made relations between a man and woman.
gd bless you ryan . i love the part you talk on when you say how we treat one another and judgen one another people forget that comand that jesus left us with
I see people on bothe ends of the spectrum on this issue and it is really amazing how many misunderstand the whole Law vs Grace thing. Some say Oh i dont follow anything that is written in the Law and then you have those that think they are justified by doing everything to a "tee". God bless you brother for this class sheds much light on the issue of meats while bringing out some major flaws in some peoples teachings about the law.
@ithastobesaid1 I think many dismiss the fact that we have God's law on our hearts (which is far more strict than the Old Testament law). I personally wound up following the dietary law, but not out of any adherence to the Old Testament law, rather it just came naturally from walking with the Lord. It is a matter of the conscience and we should not sin against our conscience. I know eating pork can offend some people, so it is not something I eat. My goal is to show forth Christ.
Although I am not convinced that this perspective is correct.
Let me ask you this, In Mark 7:15-18. Was Jesus speaking metaphorically or was he speaking in a literal sense? From my understanding of the law and statutes of the bible, I find that when law is established, it is always done clearly, specifically and unequivocally. If the Messiah was not speaking in a literal sense, then wasn't he simply conveying an important moral pertaining to tradition and men's heart?
@Joe83420 The parable is in Mark 7:14-16 and it is literal, but He then goes on in Mark 7:18-23 to plainly explain that He was talking about any kind of food and that things that are without the body cannot defile because it cannot go into the heart. It is what comes out of the heart that defiles the man. He would not use an illustration of something unlawful to explain what is lawful. Also other verses like 1 Cor. 8:8 clearly show meats do not defile the soul. God bless you richly.
@bullenchris18 Did you watch the video? I dealt with Leviticus 11 twice in the video, and did not go into all of the food laws, because it was unnecessary. The New Testament believer is not under Old Testament law, including dietary law. Jesus made it clear when He said to His disciples, "Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him" (Mark 7:18). God bless you richly.
Praise the Lord for this much needed teaching, and thank you.I have been confused about this topic, not anymore. You brought something to my attention, so if meat has a little blood in it we shouldn't be eating it. In other words, meat should be well done/cooked?
@godislove633 I think the idea is that of drinking blood by itself (which is not common today), but it would include bloody meat that is not properly cooked. Even under the New Testament it was forbidden to eat blood:
"As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written and concluded that they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication." (Acts 21:25)
@BrotherRyanHicks The Whole point of the renewed Covenant was to have the Law of God which was written on stone to be taken off stone and to be put and written upon our Hearts and Minds. Jesus when he was hung on a tree (cross) abolished the hand writings and commandments of men. He also saved us from the curse of the law of "Sin and Death" not the Law of God. I think its lack of understanding people have today.
@JasionJones I appreciate your zealousness for Torah, but you miss the whole point of the Torah by going back under it. This is something I will not be able to convince you of. You will have to seek God and want the truth, regardless of where that leaves your current beliefs. If you love God above all and your neighbor as yourself then you keep the Torah. I do that by the grace of God, but I do not keep external laws to please other men that claim to keep Torah. God bless you richly
@BrotherRyanHicks Thank you for your response. Now if you look up the translations of the words and the true Hebraric form it is called the "Renewed Covenant." After all the Bible is a Hebrew book. I have been filled with the Baptism of the Holy Ghost and It is my job to work out my own Salvation with fear and trembling by keeping His Commandments. Its own my heart. Also it is not "Jew-Ish" its Gods.
@JasionJones I never said anything about "Jew-ish" so I have no idea what you are referring to. The Old Testament is a Hebrew book, the New Testament is fully Greek. Yes, I am well aware the people claim, speculate, and guess there was a Hebrew version of Matthew, but such is merely speculation. Keep His commands that are written on your heart, but do not get bogged down in Torah-keeping as they are not the same thing. God bless you richly.
@BrotherRyanHicks The "New Testament" was written by the Hebrews. It was just translated from Hebrew to Greek and Latin and later to English. The English is written in both Greek and English and it takes to go and look up the true meaning and Hebrew meaning of the words. Strongs is great but still have some errors.
I understand where you are coming from and I disagree with you but thats okay. I could provide more scripture but lets just leave it at that.
@JasionJones The whole translated from Hebrew to the Greek we have today is a myth. If you will openly examine most of the things taught in the Hebrew Roots movement you will shortly find that most of it is pure speculation and much is Gnosticism. They will tell you to "research" them, but people generally do not. I know people involved in that movement that I love, but it is an error not based on the word. Most of the teachings leading one to keeping Torah are erroneous. God bless.
@JasionJones "Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." (Matthew 22:37-40)
"Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets." (Matthew 7:12)
@BrotherRyanHicks Matthew 22:37-40. Yes and by keeping those 2 will have you already keeping all the other Commandments. Those 2 does not do away with the others but if you Love God with all your heart and love your neighbour as yourself than you will keep the others. Remeber the Lord changes not. Just trying to bring understanding. I hope we can continue to have a civil disscussion and work out things as we are both bro. in the Body of Christ. We have His Spirit.
@JasionJones The Lord does not change, but His dealings with man do. That is why we see things like, "For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ" (John 1:17). The Lord does not change, but He decided the send Adam and Eve from the garden. The Lord does not change, but He decided to flood the world and save Noah and His family. Changes that have occurred in the plan of God have been because of free wills and their choices contrary to the will of God.
@BrotherRyanHicks I felt like replying to this comment after I thought I was done here. Please bear with me. Remeber in Genisis it says that in the beggining was the Word. So the Lord does not change from His Word. He already had this forseen and planned out in the beggining. So He does not change from His Word. We find He changes in the Word but he does not Change from what He wrote or had His Holy Prophets wrote. Get what I'm saying?
@JasionJones Genesis does not say that, John 1:1 does. My friend, we have to be diligent in studying the word of God and not what men say about the word of God. You need to read the prophets more as you see so many examples of God telling in advance how He would have a NEW Covenant. God knew all along what He would do. Much that people try to keep in the Torah was to point people to the Lamb of God. Do not miss the Lamb in your desire to keep outward laws. God bless you richly.
@BrotherRyanHicks The Laws are of God and the Lord does not change from His Word. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Go read the info on my channel if you like to get an understanding. Pastor Dowell is my Pastor so you can have an open debate with him if you like.
@JasionJones God does not change, but God is not His law. Too many are deifying the Torah and demeaning the LORD Himself. He makes the covenant, and can put in it what He wishes. What He calls clean call not thou unclean :-)
@JasionJones I am not going to "debate" anyone as that is contrary to following peace with all men and holiness (Hebrews 12:14). Romans 1 mentions people who "debate," and it is not believers. Modern "debating" is foolish carnality. Two people arguing points and not changing anyone's mind is unproductive and contrary to the gospel of Jesus Christ. The only "debate"commanded in Scripture is not open (Proverbs 25:9). God bless you richly in Him.
@JasionJones If we are going to just be having "questions and strifes of words" (1 Timothy 6:4) then it is best to end this discussion. Nothing good or holy will come from it at this point. May the Lord bless you and keep you in all that you do.
