Sorry, but I do not buy this idea. It may work with zealots (walling with supply depots it's better), but having your army trapped is never a good idea. Can you send an example of a Pro using this type of building placement. I have never seen a PRO do something like this. They normally put the buildings together blocking the enemy with the buildings and allowing new units to appear at the other side of the wall only if they were unable to detain the enemy at the ramp.
@killerridok Don't get me wrong I have learned a lot from these videos. I just disagree with this technique. I think is too risky and limited to one scenario that only happens early game and in case of zealot rushes.
A setup that's one space wide will have any tanks and thors caught in your base, looping endlessly being unable to escape save for manually directing them through the mineral gatherers. Using the mineral patches as a funnel was a better idea even though you lost, because it's more indicative of what would actually be available and prudent.
It'd probably be better to mention that you can place SCVs between the m&ms and zealots to plug up the hole.
In the scenario you showed, the Toss player could've gotten a lot of damage on the mineral line, and then forced the Terran army out of that hiding hole as well.
Nice :) Having that placement also saves yourself from getting units stuck in between the buildings. I always have such a tight building placement that some units spawn on the inside and can't get out. Surely going to use this 1 square of room placement.
@hellstoast +1 this comment also this placement is kinda off aswell to be honest a protoss player would never dedicate to a fight like that one he would most likely try to lure them out abit aswell but only noobs make Zealots with no Stalker/Sentry
TREBIS i missed u u noob cake

Personally I don't like this. One storm and you're dead.

Thanks man this is what I've been looking for my:)
One question though... Does it make drops harder to deal with?
TheAngryAsianChild 3 months ago

Wouldn't the protoss normally just run straight into the mineral line in such a scenario?

You could also put supply depos between buildinds then rase them when you get attacked.

@Deman92 It can be hard to remember sometimes in the heat of battle, but it's well worth it :)

to counter this as protoss: forcefield where you see the marines trying to hide and kill them all.
