And of course it for some reason isn't on the Virtual Console.... Nintendo, what is wrong... I am throwing my money at the Wii and you just won't take it! (and yes I know I could DL it easy... I also still have my NES and the cart... but I would like to throw money at Jackal anyway!)
I keep coming back to listen to this. It's such an awesome nostalgia trip for me. When I was a little kid it was one of the first few games I had for my NES, I always wanted to play the game with my dad. Such good times.
...I should check for it on the Wii virtual console and force my roommate to play it with me. Love this game and it's music.
What if this game used Castlevania's music? Then we would have: Stage 1: "Vampire Killer" (aka "Deja Vu") Stage 2: "Stalker" Stage 3: "Wicked Child" Stage 4: "Walking on the Edge" Stage 5: "Heart of Fire" Stage 6: "Out of Time" Boss Theme (stages 1-5): "Poison Mind" Victory Theme (stages 1-5): "Vampire Killer Stage Clear" Final Boss, part 1: "Nothing to Lose" Final Boss, part 2: "Black Knight" Final Victory: "Vampire Killer Final Stage Clear" Ending: "Voyager"
Since the NES Jackal repeats BGM pieces 1, 2 and 3 for stages 4, 5 and 6 respectively, I would think the Castlevania music selection here would be broader. What do you think?
wow, now this is some old school classic ish right here. like i was playing this in the arcades in kenya around 1989-1990 i believe. easily you can see why it was just sooo easy to get hooked on gaming as a kid back then, with the golden era of gaming being ushered in and literally being in the presence of legendary titles everywhere you look.
I've been humming and whistling this tune almost daily for nearly 21 years. Seriously. It's so catchy. Mainly the part after the jeep really starts moving
i was jammin out in my car to alot of theese songs and i gotta say the third track in this video is like gettin kicked in the chest on a 800 watt system
@FuryBrand220 arcade version is called top gunner and I have had no luck searching it up by that name either. I played the machine the other day it was tooo fuckin boss
Jackal, Contra, Double Dragon II, and the 2 Zeldas were the games that defined my early life. all had amazing music and to this day, i am 21 now, I still think about these games and how amazing they were in every way. They should remake Jackal for 360 or ps3 or something.
plz tell me where i can download this music. PLZ PLZ! much obliged and thanks in advance. I was a teenager back when i played this game and now i am in my 30's but this music still has the same effect it had on me way back then!
Have you all noticed most of the Konami games of that era had the best soundtracks??? I get really nostalgic when I remember when I was a kid and played these games. What a beautiful time. Peace.

Man, I LOVED Jackal! I remember when my cousing got this game, we spent hours playing it. Games were so much fun when 2 could play at the same time.
This shit was fun as hell! Another game Vitual Console needs to add

I think it's the fact that your jeep could only fire its machine gun upward that made this game so difficult.

Catchy soundtrack. The game almost looks like a precursor to some of those twin-stick shooters on XBLA.
