Generic how? In what game have u been able to counters someones attack by breaking their neck. The game has 3 different fighting stances that u can change on the fly which is a 1st. Pick up anything to use as a weapon which isnt in many video games. I dont see anythig generic about this game honestly
Breaking a neck as a counter is no more original than your average counter move from a wrestling game 20 years ago. It looks like a fairly standard hack and slash/fighter gameplay wise set in a pretty generic fantasy world.
I could be wrong but it's giving off a very "been there, done that" vibe...albeit with amazing graphics.
Don't forget this is a camcorder vid. Not HD, so those comments regarding textures and low poly will just have to wait for the real footage... another few days or so until it hits.

Gears totally rocks on multi-player. That's why it's been #1 on Live since release to this day, which will not end until Halo 3. Talk about legs PS3 games can only dream of.

The cutscenes are nice but you'll notice that actual gameplay shown doesn't look better than Gears of War. It is the best looking PS3 game though, which isn't saying much when your competition is turds like Uncharted and Lair.
Go check the Neogaf forums for hi-res shots from the trailer and proceed to eat your foot. Not even going to ask how a game that isn't even out yet could be overrated, how you would know it's overrated without playing it, or how you could compare to 2 other games that aren't out yet, that you haven't played either.

Uncharted, Lair, and Heavenly Sword each visually demolish Gears of War. On top of those two, we've got Final Fantasy, Gran Turismo, and Metal Gear to seal the deal forever on that misbegotten franchise.
Heavenly Sword was in the designing stages when MS turned it down... didn't go into development until after Sony picked it up, you check their blog. Unfortunately MS couldn't envision what this game was going to turn into. I'll be buying my PS3 around the time this game comes out and I can't wait to play! If Mass Effect gets pushed, I probably won't even keep my 360.
Two years later and the 360 STILL doesn't have any games with as much detail on screen, or that much draw distance for that matter. The PS3 is proving to be a beast for the amount of action that can be shown onscreen at once.

If I rmeember right was this game not in devolpment a while before the PS3's release so the game from the very start was made for the PS3 it would have been more qork taken longer and more money to make it multi.
This game was in the making long before PS3 was around. At first they just developed it for SOME next-gen console (not any specific platform, just that it'd have to be a next-gen console with great horsepower). They tried to get Microsoft to publish it (since they published NT's first game) but they weren't interested and so some months before E3 '05 Sony snatched the title up.

yea its too bad we dont get to play crappy shooters like Call of Juarez and Shadowrun huh? yea poor ps3. 360 hasnt had an action adventure game to match this yet and until Too Human comes out (which seems like never it always gets pushed back). And ps3 is in its first year. MS has been with next gen for 20 months and the games coming for ps3 this year will rival it (Good luck with all those shooters.

The xbox 360 will overheat and you'll have to send it back for repair, and keep doing it until the warrenty runs out. You get what you pay for with the ps3. It's still very early in the ps3's life, give the developers time to utilize the cell processor ya dick.

Gears totally rocks on multi-player. That's why it's been #1 on Live since release to this day, which will not end until Halo 3. Talk about legs PS3 games can only dream of.

Lair looks like total poo. Both literally and figuratively. Ugliest game ever.
The fact remains Heavenly Sword is vastly overrated by PS3 fanboys.
The actual GAMEPLAY clips do not look much if any better than Gears of War. It's just a few crap low poly characters battling in front of bland low qaulity arena backdrops.
The colors and brightness of the game is very pretty. Technically it's nothing amazing, though.
Go look at Battlefield: Bad Company X360 shots on IGN. Trashes this game.

The cutscenes are nice but you'll notice that actual gameplay shown doesn't look better than Gears of War. It is the best looking PS3 game though, which isn't saying much when your competition is turds like Uncharted and Lair.

Heavenly Sword was in the designing stages when MS turned it down... didn't go into development until after Sony picked it up, you check their blog. Unfortunately MS couldn't envision what this game was going to turn into. I'll be buying my PS3 around the time this game comes out and I can't wait to play! If Mass Effect gets pushed, I probably won't even keep my 360.

This game was in the making long before PS3 was around. At first they just developed it for SOME next-gen console (not any specific platform, just that it'd have to be a next-gen console with great horsepower). They tried to get Microsoft to publish it (since they published NT's first game) but they weren't interested and so some months before E3 '05 Sony snatched the title up.
