@futreslayer300 - Be true to yourself and don't be swayed by the political correctness brigade! There are plenty of artists who never got where they did by dumbing down their songs! Many artist have used 'real swear words' and their songs have been memorable because of it. Keep on doing what you're doing, you're doing great!! :) xx

@TheWalrusWasDanny Michael...the YT thing is a great place for the sharing of somgwriters to share ideas and stuff..amazingly I found dear Steph in here through an Argentinian fan of mine (do I call her a fan?)..and was astonished at the vocal and intimacy of the songs..I am impressed by Steph..and have told her so..and felt it a great compliment to cover some the material. When you write stuff..I think it's the ultimate compliment to cover the stuff....the song stands proud obviously....

I'm astonished by this song..again i've had a few cans so can't do it tonight (I was gonna have a go but gave up)but have a go in due course...I think this is your best IMO..my version is a bit angrier..I might have to take the capo off and do it in Am since I'm a bloke and all..otherwise it's a strain for me..I can hit it but Am seems more sensible..I posted a vid called "Seven Magpies" that uses that chord..I guess you have to give it the nod..

Detest is more poetic than "Hate"...I've always foundthe word "hate" to be a bit sort of well..kind of nieve and blunt..like when people say "I hate you"..sometimes it works as a lyric..but your song is too crafted for that word...maybe I'm talking bollocks but I don't think so..I don't like the expression "Shut up" (in everyday speech) either..too blunt..too everyday..and your song is too heartfelt for the word "Hate".it stuck out for me.

Another good one! I think the word 'hate' works just fine - it makes the point and fits and why should you change it anyway?? It's not like its a swear word or anything. :)

@futreslayer300 - Be true to yourself and don't be swayed by the political correctness brigade! There are plenty of artists who never got where they did by dumbing down their songs! Many artist have used 'real swear words' and their songs have been memorable because of it. Keep on doing what you're doing, you're doing great!! :) xx

@TheWalrusWasDanny -sorry friend -I respect you're right to your opinion, hopefully you'll respect mine - I still feel the song is fine - there's too much BS attached to political correctness. It takes away the gut wrenching spontaneity of the song if the artist is trying to find a way of putting it across without upsetting the tender hearted complainers.!Tell it like it is and how you first felt it, rather than dumbing it down for the minority who don't 'get it'!

@Hugs4Michael Of course the song is fine...just a discussion on the minute thingies of lyrics/songwriting/poetry bollocks..I covered Stephanie's song anyway...you need to grasp that such comments are not a criticism at all..but merely a development..and a personal one at that..I write material myself..which is athrowaway I guess..and irelevant..but I feel one of the values of this medium is the sharing ideas concepts words structure which can thrust the material further..including my own...

@TheWalrusWasDanny Michael...the YT thing is a great place for the sharing of somgwriters to share ideas and stuff..amazingly I found dear Steph in here through an Argentinian fan of mine (do I call her a fan?)..and was astonished at the vocal and intimacy of the songs..I am impressed by Steph..and have told her so..and felt it a great compliment to cover some the material. When you write stuff..I think it's the ultimate compliment to cover the stuff....the song stands proud obviously....

@TheWalrusWasDanny yeaaah, i totally know what you mean, my mums said something simliar lol but i think because the meaning in this song is quite blunt and honest, hate works as a word here, because as you said, its blunt. and i guess most of the song is about being honest....i would consider changing it to detest but because its two syllables it might not work...i'll have to have a think about that.

This is great Steph!! I'll try and cover it..will try and make it male..been messing about with it..you play my favourite chord..well one of them...you're like a female me! PLayed it over and over..the sentiment is just great..I just know where yer coming from...will post a vid attachment to one my songs that uses that F type chord.

I'm astonished by this song..again i've had a few cans so can't do it tonight (I was gonna have a go but gave up)but have a go in due course...I think this is your best IMO..my version is a bit angrier..I might have to take the capo off and do it in Am since I'm a bloke and all..otherwise it's a strain for me..I can hit it but Am seems more sensible..I posted a vid called "Seven Magpies" that uses that chord..I guess you have to give it the nod..

Yes that's the joy of the capo you can take it off or move it and find the right key for ya voice (I'm in love with my capo!) Detest is more poetic than "Hate"...I've always foundthe word "hate" to be a bit sort of well..kind of nieve and blunt..like when people say "I hate you"..sometimes it works as a lyric..but your song is too crafted for that word...maybe I'm talking bollocks but I don't think so..I don't like the expression "Shut up" (in everyday speech) either..too blunt..too everyday..and your song is too heartfelt for the word "Hate".it stuck out for me.
