there isnt a unqualified rate as such but just sometimes rules are lets say twisted a bit in thailand and a job can be obtained but sometimes not always at the probable earning rate of around 30000 baht and can be half of that.there are better teachers in thailand now but some still have no qualifacations at all.
if you are coming to thailand to teach for a living you will not make a good living.pay is poor even for those with a degree and you will have to pay airfares food and accomodation out of your monthly salary of around 15000 baht unqualified to 30000 baht qualified which at todays exchange rates is about 120 pound a week minus all the above expenses.only teach if you have other money to fall back on
Actually i don't know where the 15,000 baht rate for unqualified teachers is coming from. You can't legally teach here if your not qualified. Times have changed you can't just be English and get a job in a school teaching English of course it is Thailand and the rules can be bent so yes you could get work but it proberly wouldn't last long.

@OscarDanDan76 good luck with the teaching but you will not get a fair wage in thailand for teaching english.most people teaching here are volunteers and get no pay at all,but do get basic accomodation and a meal.most teachers are only employed on a 12 week rota as you will still need to leave thailand and get a visa after this amount of time.most teaching posts are in remoter areas of thailand so u will get to see the real thailand instead of phoney pattaya

@OscarDanDan76 im not sure if your sister is a teacher would help you at all,i know teachers have a decent salary in the uk but thailand is not the same.if you take a look in the bangkok post job vacancies there is a teaching post going at the moment pay is 18,200 baht a month for deputy head.hua hin is definitely more expensive though for hotel accomodation and food
