  • I saw this group in 1978 on the same bill as the Trammps and they blew the roof off the place! Love this group, this was my song, and this was when I developed my love for the sax and bald men!!!

  • @riskyriesco Back in 1977, many of us N.Y. DJs used to mix those 2 songs in & out, extending them for awhile.

    It was a natural!!!

  • The trumpet player Ajaz Baynard still gigs around here in Brooklyn & every now & then Ray Reid pops up, sometimes when there's a special party at Sugarhill.

  • Hey everyone i been bless to have the man sit here on my couch i just saw this video man can you see Johnny Ray Reid Dancing like James Brown. Dont STOP Dancin. As a teenager growing up in bushwick brooklyn. I use to want to be in a band but instead i became a DJ , In the parks then later on radio its all because of them Bert Reid and Johnny Raymond Reid.They have been a force for so much early funk, disco, and even hip hop. all you have to do nowadays is google his name.

  • @theradiorahimshow Saw em in UK,70s...live...they worked so hard...talented group....the Brass section was mindblowing...we had whistles...they took them off us and played in harmony with their sounds and the beat...unforgettable night...amazing group...we danced all night...miss them and their great music...and the people from this magic time!

  • @theradiorahimshow I grew up in Bushwick myself. Lived on Grove Street bwtn Knickerbocker and Wilson Ave. Went to Halsey Jr. High and I danced to this song like there was no tomorrow!!!! It's rare to read comments from a person in my ex-hood!

  • Almost forgot to mention, Arnold "Muki" Wilson is one of my bass idols, have all their albums on CD, they sound amazing on CD

  • badass band, I remember seeing them open for Kool & the Gang at the old Westchester Premier Theater in 1980, they almost upstaged Kool!
