@WiNKsound I've finally saved enough money to buy better music software. Any suggestions as to what to start off with? I want to be able to do sampling from records (beat machine I was thinking), but I'm also familiar more with Pro Tools..
@beatryda U must not be a pro tools user because they do make a sampler that comes free with pro tools and it's much more than basic. It's called structure free and u can upgrade to le or full for extra $.
i use pro tools but i never paid attention to anything having to do with making a beat since i usually just take care of mixing the vocals and instruments. however, i just began to want to create my own beats and to sample. I've discovered the structure free sampler now. i have pro tools 8 m-powered but once in structure free, i put the file i want to sample n it won't let me edit the parts i want to sample. so in order to use this fully i need to pay extra or upgrade to le right?
Real great and easy to understand video. I had a question... i just bought an akai mpd18 and was wondering if you knew how to sample songs in Pro tools? i'm trying to look for videos but keep stumbling into tutorials that use other program and not pro tools when showing this... any help will help much. thanks and keep up the good videos.

To do a fade what you want to do is use the smart tool and just go to the top cornor of that region and a little fade icon will show up. Then just click and drag to get teh desired fade length. Hope this helps out
You cant import sounds into boom. Kind of a dissappoint but you can only use the sounds within boom. The sounds are pretty good though. Let me know if you have any other questions about music production. I would suggest getting battery 3 form native instruments it will allow you to use your won sounds and has amazing tweak ability.
Thank you for the support and positive feedback. Let me know if you have any questions,c omments, or ideas on music production. Hope to hear from you soon
Thank you very much for the vid.

How did you draw the fade at 1:16? Did you use a shortcut command or do you have to set some sort of automation for it?
