You can read the story of British El Alamein veteran, Sergeant George Bush, by Googling the "NVA FRIENDS" website. George also landed in the first wave at Ver Sur Mer, Gold Beach, and landed on D-Day in Sicily. He further travelled up Hell's Highway with XXX Corps during Operation Market Garden.
this happens due to lack of coordination between the british americans and polish troops and completely relying on light paratroopers with no armor support
Hmmm.......I think if you check the history books, pretty much the first thing to go wrong militarily (and there were plenty of British mistakes too) was the failure to capture the Son/Zon Bridge intact (a US objective) which put the whole ground operation 36 hours behind schedule.
But, hey, we were/are allies so let's not split hairs :-)
@TruthRaider George Patton was an American general known for his flamboyant behaviour. He always carried two pearl handled guns ''cowboy style'' on his waist band and believed he was the incarnation of Alexander the great.
His best known feat was the mad dash north to the ''Ardens'' ending the battle of the bulge.
He also proposed a tank push trough the ''sigfried line''(to the east), as opposed to market garden(to the north). His plan was rejected in favour of Montgomery's plan.
