  • wow

  • PutaLoca - the song is Agüeybana Zemi by Jerry González, Frankie Rodriguez

  • I'm trying to find this music track. Who were the guaguanco rumberos that played this song. My mom used to have it on a tape mix. I never found out the name of the band. Does anyone who did the Indio Poderoso song?

  • deep poetry of pinero - great acting preformence of bratt - i saw this as a teen the first time... actually this made me start reading books... i just love his poetry... great mov...

    this is my favorite part...

  • I think Benjamin Bratt did an outstanding job with this movie. Johnny Depp had the looks for the part, but this is not for Depp. Johnny Depp was considered for the part. This movie was so well put together and Bratt should have received some type of award for this one. Well he got a wife out of this one. It's not tiring at all you just have to understand the dynamics of the person, his work, the era, the culture,

the country, the cities, addiction, abuse and the plight of all people involved

  • this looks tiring

  • this is johnny depp meet al pacino in carlito's way, this what you get if u mixx the 2

  • I don't get it. Is he a Latino Hippi or something?

  • No. Pinero was a innovative poet. His style highly influenced what became Hip Hop like the Last Poets and Gill Scott Heron/

  • its good to know that im the cause !

    nice job miguel pinero......

  • Vibrant and effective friend! yeah!!

added to the LR p.list for music to sustain truthers souls...

with love and together we are already the change we need

    LR

  • Occasionally, Bratt looks out of his depth, but overall I think he done a gr8 job. I reckon Johnny Depp would've smashed this role !

  • Yeah, imagine Depp in this. I think Bratt was great though. Amazing scene, all parts of it. The pace, the music, the words, the roof.

Pinero's detractors can't take this away from me.

  • Bratt was EXCELLENT in this role! He is apparently underrated as an actor.

  • He was a male, lived on the planet Earth, occasionally went to sleep and was, at one point in time, alive.

  • EXACTLY!!

  • @normajeanxaild23 The more demons the better the artist.

Despite being a heroin addict he never let that side take the best and his talent can't be denied. All you present is false labels.

  • @normajeanxaild23 if you can get past all those then you can hear the beautiful poetry of human feelings and struggle... not everyone is perfect and many have made mistakes ,,,Kurt Kobain was a druggie but no one cared because his music was beautiful...if people focused on the positive instead of the negative and stopped tearing down each other the world would be a much better please

  • @m0nr0emisfit *PLACE ... not please sorry lol

  • he was a genious

  • @Krisznyo Yup! "POETIC GENIOUS". Miguel is a MAJOR contributor to ALL REAL, Hip Hop. He is TRULY a "Revolutionary" of the time. PeacE!

  • Does anybody knows the name of the song in the background?

  • Pinero 1 of my favs.Lf Basquiat somehow.I think Bratt did a great job.Got me interested in Miguels work.

    Great schene great film.

  • FANTASTIC!!

  • Pinero is an introduction to the movie he wrote as a play that rocketed him to fame, money, even greater despair.

Short Eyes is on the tube, 12 parts. I had to keep going back to the cockroach race and the singing scene to get through. It's relentless, breaks all the rules, works.

  • Yes! APTN.

I saw this again last night.

That bit about the deep sea diver

    eventually never wanting to surface,

    that's golden.

  • Yeah, the diver who didn't want to surface again, another unforgettable moment in this movie.

    The clip, please Agilo.

  • Agilo, thanks for this. Just saw the movie on APTN, the native channel. This was the scene I most wanted to experience again. And again.

  • did benny win any kind of recognition for this film?

  • An Awesome scene from an Awesome movie. If you hgaven't seen this movie - Rent It. You will be amazed by PIñero.

  • @Taz36Guevara Don't rent it, BUY IT!

  • I don't know, I bought it online.

    It's worth buying. ;)
