  • 2001+newer ss has the ls6 intake which is about 10-15 HP more than earlier models, also no its not stock if its got mickey thompsons...

  • shit man....my stock 02 TA went a 8.50 with a miss (bad plug/wire) and intake gaskets leaking and a dirty maf and no stall. now its got everything. cept a 9 inch a procharger painjob and 315's and a drag suspension. but its coming. gotta work alot of hours comin up to get there. i almost own it too. 39k miles currently. loving the guys at texas speed.

  • Say goodbye to that cars rearend. The only weakness of that car imo. Rearends were not made for the cars hp. For those that  dont believe its possible dont know how to shift. A stock 02 ss with slicks should net you easy 12.70s-12.80s. Stock tires I was netting 13.10s with my 4speed auto and 12.80s with slicks. 6speed can dip lower. Only downside itll rip the rearend outta that car

  • dont believe that its stock with only mickeys on the back. buddy had an 01 ss 6spd with 4.10 gears, mickeys, headers to 3 inch exhaust dumpin before the rear, short throw, an a k&n filter not really a aftermarket lid but atleast a filter an the best he got was 12.87 an that boy can drive believe me. without the gears he was 13.00 flat all day. but hey nice run an nice car just hard to believe it only has good tires an nothin else.

My buddy in his 02 firehawk 6 speed on stock tires after he picked it up in 03 ran 13.1-13.3 @108ish all summer long, then he took it down in november in 60's temp, that same year still 100% stock and ran 12.7@110. It dyno'd 321/333 100% stock as well.

  • let me get this straight to all u fucks all ls1s meaning z28 or ss came with the 350 at the crank and 300ish at the wheels there was never a bullshit package for itt my dad has the same car and my bro has a 2000 z28 puts the same dam humbers off by like 6 horses.

  • My 01 z28 put 320 WHP bone stock, did a Y pipe lid and K&N and had a custom tune made 346WHP

  • I have the same camaro and I ran a 13.2 with stock tires, I heated em up real nice and still spun off the line and barked through 2nd so yeah they'll run 12's stock with Drag Radials only.

  • @SSCamaroMan345 heating up stock tires will make them greasy and you will spin more. only slicks and some dr's need to be heated. mostly you just want to clean the debris off the tires. avoid the waterbox as well if your on street tires.

  • @SSCamaroMan345 np. if i could do it over again and was on a budget. my first mods would be slicks on some 15" weld wheels and atleast 4.10 gears. great bang for your buck mods and the ls1 makes great power even in stock form. free mods and pull some weight off doesnt hurt either, cheap too(free) haha

  • Hey guy there could be a difference... If your talking about a 02 z28 and a 02 SS well they could b the same except... The SS may have a SLP package or a CMMG package.. Alot of people may not notice that part when buying a 35th aniversary... But that's a pretty fast car for stock! I wish I was that fast when I was stock!! Good run!!

  • @ViciousGMz The only difference between an SS and a Z28 of that year model(02) is that SSs have the Ram Air intake hood and the Flipped up spoiler. Z28s have the straight hood and straight spoiler. No difference in engine or tranny.

    Now there are SLP and CMMG Edition Camaros but the difference between an SS and Z28 is just the hood and spoiler. Oh, and the Z28s have Traction control. Other than those three things. Same exact car.

  • .... ls1 in a 99 camaro is a corvette engine without the heads and cams the corvette has reducing its power by 40 horses.. ls1 stock creates 300 to crank 283 to the wheels beastly engine. very underrated and fuck japanese cars. only bad thing about this car is the fucking interior and thats just because they dont give a fuck about interior.

  • 97 Corvette and 98-02 had the LS1. Its the same engine without an EGR provision(01-02 had LS6 intake). Same heads and cam. Mine put 319 to the wheels

  • a 98 ls1 was rated at 325hp and they had the same cylinder heads as the corvette. and you lose alot more than 17 hp to the wheels, but the engines are under rated from the factory. it takes every bit of 400 fly horse to run a 12.69

  • the only difference between the current ls1 crate engine vs the 97 ls1 is the intake manifold really. the internal difference is so small that they are really 5hp +/-. the current crate ls1 is rated at 350hp and 375tq at the crank. the ratings for the f-bodies were 305hp-345hp(options) at the crank, but the same vette ls1(aside from egr they are identical) was rated at 350hp at the crank. the ls6 intake comes with all ls1s from 01+. the only power difference.

  • my bone stock 99 z28 ran 13.2@ 110 3 times in one day with stock tires, i put on some nitto drag radials on the same day i was running 12.7 @ 108, my friend owns a pro shop and tells me ls1s out of the box are putting 290 to 310 at the wheels on his dyno all the time, i now have 130000 miles of racing the shit out of my car and the only thing i had to replace on her was the power window motor and the water pump!

  • Nice run tudds, how many miles are on the car? My 01 with 59K, the clutch would slip on good tires. And the clutch stuck the the floor after the 1-2 if I power shifted. Your right on you have to shift slower without the drill mod. I think 02 got LS6 clutchs too? I think I noticed a diffrence changing the stocks on some 02 cars, over -00 cars
