  • yer can tell the difference between mavers and power man, both spot on. Just a shame we didnt get a bit more out of them. The kitchen sessions and the crescent sessions are 10/10, esp the kitch sesh. Although its good hearing it, it leaves a whole thet you think 'the la's should have turned the ;kitchens sessions' into an album (tweaked here and there).

  • I think both the La's and Cast are great bands. I read an article recently about Mavers slagging off Power and Casts music, but thats just jealousy. Magic Hour and Walkaway are brilliant songs end of......Basically Lee Mavers lost the plot.

  • @justhammers

Agree that John has written some great songs and they all feature in my record collection but in my opinion they are nothing on what Lee has written, such a massive shame that we haven't got five, six or even just two albums from The La's.

  • I dont think mavers liked the other members haveing any creative control, they could have been somethinng even more special than they already were with johns talent.

  • never knew he was palying cast songs with the la's..

this is a great song anyway

  • Seen Mavers in the Village on wednesday. i wos actually made up

  • God Lee looks pissed off haha,

Could've given John a hand on harmony there to be honest...grumpy git!

  • I wish that whoever made this video put more focus on john. Not because i could stare at him forever, because i could, but for the reason being that he's on lead vocals.

  • iv always thought powers voice is ace, him and mavers were amazing together

  • power must have felt a little like harrison going to mc cartney and lennon with his songs? i mean the stuff that mavers came out with and is still writing are amazing tunes to this day. powers when he was in cast was good, but not in the same circle as when he was in the la's.....

  • i think its kinda saying something that power has to sing harmanies along to mavers but mavers doesnt look like he's arsed to help power out

  • Do you think I miss you. Do you think I care?

  • talking about lee?

  • No, Just a great lyric, simple but strikes a real chord.

  • I still think this fits well with all the other La's songs.

  • John Power's tunes aren't bad but they're too poppy, too long, and just not in the same songwriting league as Mavers. They don't really fit in with the La's sound either....

  • So, did the La's write this song then?

  • Yes, it's John Power's song.

  • Oh, I see.

  • when was this gig?

  • 15/04/91 - Ancienne Belgique, Brussels, BE

  • Are you sure? I thought Cast didn't release this till 1996...

  • Yes, they also played Follow Me Down on the gig.

  • wow... where is this ? VK-club ? Thanks for sharing !!

  • amazin, never knew they were doing this in the la's days. its even better, more gritty . the song didnt need to be overcomplicated . ie' the Cast one'

    MUFC THE RELIGION

  • mavers is fuming aint he hahahaha

get over the first album mavers

    let it go lad

  • the la's playing a cast tune, sick, not sure who I prefer the la's or cast, mavers or power, obviously they were a force together and are apart aswell. Love British music.

  • no wonder power jibbed it la,wherse the bv's lee? thought it was all 4 1 1 4 all in the la's,nt my words
