  • probably the same reasons reagan pulled perfectly functioning solar panels off of the white house that his predecessor had installed.... as one of the first acts upon taking over the presidency....

  • WTF? Gerkin in Alaska. What does eating herbivores have to do with shooting wolves mercilessly? What herbivores are tamed to slaugher? WTF? Maybe you need to wait til the sun comes out next year. The 20 hours of daily darkness makes you fuzzy. Yeah go butcher your herbivores. And judge others. Great. Ever think some of us are vegetarian? no, didn't 'think' so.

  • oil whore

  • Now Palin.. another oil whore, is promoting shooting wolves from a plane.. and tried to get the cut their left paw for the $150 bounty. Was it $500 for the kill? Ah nice lady.. so Hunters can KILL MORE moose.. and the eco system is totally messed up in a beautiful "clean" part of OUR nation.. not hers and hunters.

  • TREY OLD HIPPIE man you are so wrong. How many wolves have you eaten? How many moose? Believe me when I say herbivores are better to eat than carnivores. You have all domesticated your herbivores and kill them in a slaughter house. We prefer to keep ours wild.

  • Excellent.

    Instrumental.

And a DONE DEAL. Down the river, McC.

  • Z 19-F-hottie here. I'm just saying that girls LOVE this vid. H

  • fuckin repos would vote for mickey mouse and goofy if they were on the ticket.

  • Bush/McCain and the Neocon-artist's Primary Agenda:

    Privatize the Profits:

To allow for unrestrained monopoly building and profiteering by the wealthy elite under the guise of a bogus "free market" mantra.

    Socialize the losses:

Get the tax payers to cover the bail out costs when the greedy super corporations screw up, and when the financial markets fail due to deregulation and rampant speculation.

    ENOUGH!

    Stop Corporatism!

For the UNITED States of America!

    Vote Obama/Biden 08!

  • The bottom line is that new offshore oil drilling would likely not help anyone much, except politicians,(& Palin can help them do it!). Not oil companies, who didnt actively press for it until after McCain raised the subject. Theyd rather let things go along as they are, since they cant process any more oil in this country, anyway. Not consumers, who wont see prices drop much soon unless they continue reducing consumption.

  • Fact check:

"Obama has accepted more than $213,000 from individuals who work for companies in the oil and gas industry and their spouses.

Two of Obama's bundlers are top executives at oil companies and are listed on his Web site as raising between $50,000 and $100,000 for the presidential hopeful."

Your argument is void unless you apply your same logic to Obama. No double standers!

  • That's exactly the same. In reference to your first point, he's probably also received contributions from employees at walmart, sears, mcdonalds, starbucks, etc.

As long as those people are employees and not lobbyists who are paid solely to influence the creation of new laws to create a disparate impact favoring the paying companies, then I don't see the big problem.

  • Fact check:

"corporate lobbyists often have a big say as to where a PAC's donations go. But a PAC can give no more than $5,000 per candidate, per election. We're not sure how a $5,000 contribution from, say, Chevron's PAC would have more influence on a candidate than, for example, the $9,500 Obama has received from Chevron employees... contributions that come in volume from oil industry executives, or are bundled by them, can be every bit as influential as PAC contributions, if not more so."

  • i cant think of a better way to solve our oil crisis...... drill drill and drill this is stupid and it wont work plus the results from the drilling wont be seen until 2030!!!! we are SOL if we elect mccain

  • we drill now; so idk wut u mean by 2030, they are jus droping some restrictions on how close to shore it can be.... but I hope we drill some alaskan reserves soon, idk about timelines up there

  • You do know the oil needs to be refined first, this takes time as does building more refineries that will be needed if we start drilling at the rate these people want

  • "You do know the oil needs to be refined first, this takes time as does building more refineries that will be needed if we start drilling at the rate these people want"

    It doesn't take 20 years.

  • the refining process is quick yes, but getting through all the red tape isn't, McCain will loosen and lose some restrictions sure, but its still gonna take time to get the deals made and the process started, do you think we have enough refineries right now to handle the load all this new drilling will create? do you know how long it takes to setup a drill and actually start drilling? do you know how long it takes to construct an oil refinery? 2 to 4 years to construct a single rig

  • Compare this to how long it would take to find ways to use renewable energy, start building the buildings that are needed to create this energy, building new factories to create the things that use this new energy, and then transitioning everyone over to this new energy. Obama said it would take 10 years.

Why not have cheaper gas while we are waiting? Nobody is saying oil is the answer, but it is part of the answer.

  • "Nobody is saying oil is the answer, but it is part of the answer." So whats the problem then? I thought it was oil, cool its the problem and the solution, looks like we are all done here folks. All kidding aside I agree with you to an extent, but the longer we procrastinate the deeper in trouble we are gonna be

  • Oil is not the problem. The problem is that oil runs out. More oil is good.

  • And just so you know I support neither Obama nor McCain, Green Party all the way.

  • Demand is artificially high because of speculation on the future rarity of energy sources. Building any form of future energy source, or providing a significant cut in the usage of those energy sources would dissuade the speculation enough for the prices to visibly decrease. Supply and demand does not necessitate that the demand be product consumed, only product purchased. Any definitive plan will lead to lower gas prices. The question is who should reap the rewards of the new energy system.

  • 2030? That's 20 years from now. I heard 5 years until we have full production. Obama said it would take 10 years for his plan to begin working. McCain says why not drill, and get new resources.

  • Any adult who watches this or similar videos and thinks the democrats are so much better because there are no wealthy lobbies with questionable scruples that they are in their pockets of suffers from serious clinical delusion.

  • I can't wait to have another oil man as president. good luck if we elect McBush/Chelin.

HELP STOP BUSH 3 ANY WAY YOU CAN

  • Very effective video. Thank you for taking the time to create and share it.

  • With this music in the background i thought 31 was gonna be McCain and Bush shooting up together, that would explain there policies =)

  • Great vid. And I agree, the Obama camp or Move-on need to hire the maker of these vids or the guys who work for The Daily show or The Colbert report. They hit it out of the park everytime.

  • The only thing that needs to change in this video is the overuse of the requiem for a dream soundtrack..

    I mean it's a great soundtrack but it's overused..

    Maybe Yakkity Sax? :D

  • looooool yakkity sax ftw,

but seriously, if McCain is elected we may as well have a nuclear war seeing as London, New ork, Hong KOng, New Orleans and hundreds of other major cities will be under water creating billions of global refugees.

Hes gonna need more than that 1.3 million in bribes from the oil companies to clean that up!

  • The Obama team needs to hire the maker of this vid.

  • Here's a note for retarded Republicans that think off shore oil will lower prices at the pump (instead of just boosting oil company profits. A) It will take billions of dollars to get that oil and refine it. B) It will take ten years before any of it actually is processed into gas, C) The gas will be sold on the global market with most going to China, D) We export 20% of our oil, much more than we could ever get from off shore wells. Stop being a stooge for the McCain Oil Company.

  • For a man who is 72 years old and has had four bouts with cancer to have chosen someone so completely unqualified to become vice-president is shockingly irresponsible. Suddenly, Mccain/McInsane's age and health become central issues in the campaign, as does his judgment!!!!

    OBAMA - BIDEN '08

  • I am new into politics, can someone explain this to me?

why did obama vote for the cheney/bush energy bill, and clinton and mccain voted agains it?

I would really like to hear from obama supporters because they are really smarter than the rest of us.

  • because the plan was ok in theory, but not in practice, Bush screwed it all up. nothing got done. nada. That is because of the oil companies who want to hike up the price of oil. we dont need to drill, we need more price control so people wont have to pay $5 dollars a gallon at the pump.

  • Advocate. please do one thing. try googling Al Gore's website and you'll find something posted on his website for sure. Global Warming is not a sham. What do you think about hurricanes intensity and frequency of hurricanes, floods, etc.?

  • McCain Probably uses his dick as his windmill.

  • McCain has 7 houses,Romney has 7 wives.that's 14 reasons to vote for OBAMA.

  • Advocate... you really need to take a class or 2 before speaking on something you have no knowledge on. 50% of the world's population wouldn't die...if we switched to renewable resources... in fact... it would increase life expectancy by decreasing CO2 emissions... Oil is nit a long-term solution. Hence why they call it a nonrenewable resouce. Get your facts straight... and don't talk unless you know how to back it up.

  • advocate is illiterate as being demonstrated by him. he is just ignorant. hey advocate, u need to watch documentary 'AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH' by Al Gore, who received Nobel Prize for spreading awareness about global warming.

  • we already have researched renewable sources of energy. We don't need to look for them. Even other countries, like China, use renewable sources of energy. If you agree that U.S.A. is more technologically advanced, then you'll also agree that this country can easily have access to renewable sources of energy. If China can do it, so can the U.S.A. It's just the lobbyists of oil companies that do not want us to switch to renewable sources. They want to drill so stock prices go up.

  • If we all switched over to renewable energy like wind and solar, 50% of the world's population would die in a week.

China can't do it you abject idiot. They built multiple coal fired power plants in a week.

Oil is the long-term solution. You've just demonstrated that my tax dollars were wasted to pay for your education.

  • what u r saying does not make any sense. FYI-i have used my own money for my education. you have given away most of your money to oil companies u idiot. other developed countries want to switch to renewable and they have based their decision on sound scientific research.only a lot of republicans are against it. also, have u died by going out in the sun to a beach? sun is the ultimate source of energy. i guess u didn't spend your money on your education. i can see that.

  • Did you go to a private school or a public school. If you went to a public school anytime in your life, I paid for it.

If we switched off oil, 50% of the world's population would die in a week.

  • which state do you live in? I don't believe that a dumb person like you with no sense of logic paid for my education. I have loans dude. I did not get any government grants. You don't have any clue as to what you are saying by stating 'If we switched off oil, 50% of the world's population would die in a week.' Even world scientists didn't conclude that. Get some education on global warming. Go to any state college because maybe I might have paid for your education as well.

  • Day 1 we go off oil:

Everyone in Great Britain begins to starve because they import most of their food.

Most of the people in Africa and Asia die.

The price of all goods will go up.

We will have no plastics or synthetic material.

Anthropogenic global warming is a joke. It is based on a correlative study and the ice core record shows that the CO2 lags behind temperature by hundreds of years.

Then add to the fact that NONE of the climate models have been right.

  • I don't know what crops can be grown on U.K.'s soil.I don't buy into the argument that people in U.K. are starving. U.S. imports are greater than exports.Prices of all goods are going up anyways in U.S. Look at the weather pattern in the last few years. Hurricanes are more powerful than before. Look at the effects of the 1989ExxonMobil oil spill. I would trust Al Gore since he is a Nobel Prize winner. You know the reputation of Nobel prize, dont' you?International scientists say global warming.

  • No, I'm not moving on to another subject. You challenged what I said and I threw it back into your face and made you look like a fool. Answer my questions.

  • You didn't ask me any questions you IGNORANT FOOL. Read your previous reply you IDIOT. You don't even know what are you talking about without any credible basis. I'm sure that if you took a debate class, you flunked pretty badly in that class. You're using these abusive words because you are frustrated by my comments, nothing else. I have also paid taxes, so you please go to college and get some education and then debate about global warming.

  • How about you explain how we are going to get off oil. Really explain it to me how we do it without people starving.

What about Global Warming. It is a total sham.

  • go sit your azz in the hot sun for 4 days with no water and needing a basic medication like sudafed and see if you don't believe that Global Warming is real. The next hurricane that comes, i will send you to Louisiana to my home state so you can FRY

  • Obama plans to disarm America and stop military technological advances. Our military is what keeps us safe and we are the country the world depends on to keep them safe. Without our technological advantages we won't be able to defend ourselves or our allies. Our military needs to keep ahead of the rest of the world if the free world is to remain free.

  • John McCain 08' bitches

  • Why shouldn't we be drilling for oil? You folks don't make any sense.

  • Do you know that it takes millions of years to make oil reserves? It is a non-renewable source of energy. If we keep using it, we'll lose it forever. Now does it make sense? We live in a modern era. Be more cool with renewable energy sources. I wouldn't be surprised if he, like Bush, has ties to the oil-rich Saudis.

  • But shouldn't we use what we have WHILE STILL researching renewables?

  • mc cain will be a DISASTER for the country..sorry but it's the truth.

    I vote Obama'08

  • You Leftists can starve your own people...but I want prosperity for America.

    Drill Here...Drill Now...Pay Less!!!

  • thinking about short-term only. look at the big picture, you rightist.

  • forget about McCain, after all our country is been through. Check out my video

  • Neither McCain or Bush have the intellectual assets to be good Presidents. So experience is less important, after all, no one has experience being President unless they are an incumbent. We saw where a C-student could take this country do you want to hire an F-student now?! McCain, like Bush, has gotten everywhere he has because of his daddy and his daddy's daddy.

  • even if we drilled more oil - our refineries couldnt refine it. Our refineries are at 100%. So no.. not McCain 08.

  • no sir they are at 80% efficiency.

  • Obama 2008!

  • ATENTION ATENTION

Volunteers needed at the obama headquarters to adjust the tin foil hats of the supporters.

    Please help out. thank you.

  • We need LESS dependenc eon OIL and MORE use of sustainable power methods and electric vehicles--who's electirc chareg could come from things like SOLAR or WIND. If we put the same money toward further development of electric vehicles and sustainable power sources INSTEAD of drilling, we could get ALL the ENERGY benefits without the DEPENDENCE on OIl. Stop doing and supporting the same old crap Stop OIl Dependence. Vote Obama and vote against MCCain; Mr Same.

  • Liberals : get your new tin foil hats at the nearest obama headquarters.

  • Tin Foil Hats??? Oh do you mean the tin foil hats all the right wing republicans wear??? The ones they wear while they are watching FOX news or other LYING, propaganda filled media sources? Huh?

  • Georgia Congressman says we have the pipelines in place should we find oil in the Gulf. It's ready to go when we are. Watch the oil prices go down when we start to get serious about using our own resources.

    McCain 08

  • The more insular we become with domestic drilling, the more it's going to worsen our relations with the middle east. We need to abandon the Rep. isolationist foreign policy, and quick.

  • Georgia Congressman says we have the pipelines in place should we find oil in the Gulf. It's ready to go when we are. Watch the oil prices go down when we start to get serious about using our own resources.

    McCain 08

  • In TEN YEARS, those new oil wells will reduce gas by 1%. Coincidentally the same 1% we would gain if we just did routine maintenance on our cars TODAY. Let's look beyond the end of our own noses for what we'll be doing in 10 years. Which I sincerely hope will not be funneling huge bags of cash to the (worthless) oil companies (who are sitting on millions of acres of drilling permits already). Also, oil prices have gone down because the Enron Loophole was closed. Learn. To. Read.

  • State the source for those ridicious figures you came up with.

It wouldn't take us ten years, that's another figure that is quoted all the time by the left and can not be backed with facts.

    *************

    " Learn to. Read "

    *************

    What is that statement?

Depending on what one reads; truth or fiction.

I don't believe the majority of democrats.

Their moto is lying is justified if the end result is what they want to achieve.

  • We don't need to "find" it we just need to drill and pump it. There is plenty of oil that has already been found that is on land that is already leased. The oil companies just want to add more unrecovered reserves to their annual report to push the stock price up.

Drilling will be a bit of a problem because basically all of the rigs are already in use.

  • what old man time forgot to them that same bill increase their tax 2.9 billion for net increase of 300 million a year over 11 year

  • McCain told a group this morning in Lima, Ohio that "I think Senator Obama might be a little bit confused. Yesterday, he accused me of having President Bush's policies on energy. That's odd because he voted for the President's energy bill and I voted against it." McCain said the 2005 bill gave oil companies $2.8 billion in "corporate welfare."

  • Why is John McCain lying about Barack Obama? McCain says Obama will raise taxes on middle class Americans. In fact, Obama will give middle class Americans a $1,000 tax credit.

John McCain doesn't have the character to be president.

    Character counts.

  • He's raising taxes on capital gains- that affects the middle class

  • He's not raising taxes on anyone that makes less than 250K p/y,for capitol gains or anything else. McCain is a liar, and now that oil prices are plummetting, and there's a huge oil spill to remind us what could happen to our beaches. I would like him to explain why adding 3% to the worlds oil production in seven years is worth drilling in Alaska and all along our eastern sea. I know it would be great for the oil companies, and McCain, but why can't we focus instead on using much less oil?

  • Obama doesn't have experience. He's been in senate since 2004 and want to be president now?

  • TOO OLD.

  • We can thank McCain in better ways. I agree with General Wesley Clark in that McCain doesn't have more administrative experience that would lend itself to the position of Commander-in-Chief, and torture only degrades one's ability to rationalize and focus. About oil, speculators are the issue affecting price: not supply. More oil does not liberate us from dependence on it and does not help mitigate greenhouse gas emissions. About Wright, I'm sure you have some relatives you're not proud of.

  • my last post was for jim4bigblue, in case youtube doesn't show who I replied to.

  • Are we idiots to assume that the oil companies are already drilling on 100% of their current oil leases? Supply isn't the issue. It is not like we have odd-even gas rationing, like when supply was an issue. The issue is run away profits for the oil industry. The petroleum needs a leader who isn't afraid of cracking the whip on them. McCain won't stand up to the big money oil companies.

  • Let me shoot it to you skrait. Your time is up crakers. All you crakers looks at this old whitey and now his time is over and you gone finally pay us our preperations.

My boy Obama gone smoke his ass and we painet the white house black. Free at last free at last, Amon!

  • Why do I get the feeling you're a white Republican sitting in his mom's basement?

  • Maybe it's Ludicrus himself....?

  • McCain says Obama is just like Britney and Paris--but McCain wears $520 Ferragamo shoes???

Obama's family dressed him down on national television for owning the same suit pants for over a decade; and McCain wears $520 Italian shoes????

I think one of these candidates has confused his lavish Washington lifestyle with the 'experience' needed to run the country. I for one think it's a GOOD thing Obama hasn't spent his adult life living it up in Washington!

    $520 Ferragamo shoes?????

  • Senators usually start in their 40's- give him time and he'll be a veteran soon.

  • when will you wake up? when your homeless and on the street and you look and see how every Republican screwed you...and you bought their image you dumb fuck piece shit fuck John McCunt their trying focus the attention away from him and on to Obama.

  • Forget the drilling..windmills, solar panels and other alternatives are the way....let us get our indepenedence strong again....

    Good vd..thanks

  • drilling for oil now would effect gas prices twenty years from now

  • great video. john mcshame. the first one to go negative.

  • are u being sarcastic i hope???

  • They can drill in my backyard. I'm sick of paying these prices.

  • Who gives a crap why he wants to drill there, so long as he does. I don't know about you, but I'm for whatever will drop oil prices.

  • you're wrong. congress won't allow them to drill. if we were able to we would be able to tap into 4x the amount of oil reserves that saudi arabia has.

  • "we would be able to tap into 4x the amount of oil reserves that saudi arabia has"

I would like to see where you pulled that statistic from, but I fear you'd have to bend over to get to it.

  • obama's plan will not save us any money. and mccain was opposed to offshore drilling until just a few weeks ago. this is by far a liberal propaganda agent.

  • When Bush lifted the execitive order on drilling oil went down $16.Israel will attack Iran soon and gas will be $8 or $9 a gallon!Plus we will be lucky to get much oil if any when it breaks loose in the Middle East!I guess Democrats want Americans to ride bicycles and trucker's to make deliverie's in covered wagons ! Why can't we do everything drill, research, nuclear energy and higher standards on car maker's ? Real oil experts say all inland and offshore drilling would take 1 1/2 yrs to 6 yrs !

  • Every society need's to understand that to be free is necessary to learn the limits of the freedom. a fueling sistem which gives to much freedom to the big oil conpanies,is at the same time slavering all the population.

  • Maybe they need to get hook up with the mist

    Brazilain companie.

The Brazilian oil companie PETROBRAS is the best on the world when comes to drill off shores.

They can do it in a year in Brazil, I m demm

sure that with some of they tecnollogy , America can come up with even better time. the Americans can do anithing that they set they mind to it.

  • The Bush Administration's Department of Energy admits that removing the ban on offshore drilling would not produce any new oil for at least ten years and would NOT have a meaningful effect on oil prices. The American people deserve to know that.

  • just hope that the big powerfull boys, find a common ground and smartly and responsable catake a decision that is really best for America. Obama or Mc cain needs to make America free of Venezuela and Iran's oil. I love America, and u all.

  • America need to concentrate on alternative but at the same time, can't depend on Hugo Chaves and Almajad "s will.

I do understand that is important to take care the reserves. But I do believe that in 30

years more oil will be a fuel of the past.

then what good going to be?

  • Does anyone know what song this is that is playing in the background?

  • On the 70's Brazil was totaly depoendent on foreign oil, the gas price was rising 4 times a day sometimes hourly, Brazil concentrated on pump off shores and on ethanol. Has been a decade that Brazil is totaly yndependent of foreign oil and have a

very stable economy. Today Brazil can build

and pump off shores on a estimate time of a year sometimes just in months. So let's pump off shores to solve a imediate problem and at the same time concentrate on alternative energy.

  • Let's grow up and put aside all the leatle

political games and regardlees who get s your vote, let's look for the American future stability.

    America can due it!!!!

Eather of those two boys only going to be there for just a 4 years period and the future of the American kids still going on.

  • BRAVO!!!!!!

  • Air this ad!!!!

  • Wow, that's a GREAT fuckin' ad, man. If that doesn't get the point across, nothing will.

  • SPOT ON , KUDOS.

McLame will make his friends mucho denero while we all get McJobs...

    I didn't get a Masters to work a McJob.

    GO BARAK GO

  • This ad is absolutely brilliant. Spot on!

  • Shocking..! What do republicans have to say? McLame is surrounded by interest groups... big oil companies is just one of them! For REAL good and necessary change, go Obama '08!

  • Bah! Anytime there is the discussion of economic fairness or holding cooperates accountable, the right threatens higher prices. It's bologna. Without regulation, the prices are driven up by rampant speculation. I'll risk price increases for economic sanity. What is the point of low prices when no one has money to buy anything? The corporations literally pay pennies for widgets and charge consumers premium prices. CEOs use foreign banks to evade taxes and launder money - we are being duped

  • You are so right, but they hope that we will let them slip by AGAIN.

  • John McCain standing near an oil rig and pandering about drilling. Really? He is already a slippery slope himself, with both feet on a banana peel. So his claim to rather loose an election than a war, like when he spilled his guts saying whatever they wanted him to as a SUPER AND GREAT POW, certainly does not make him very presidential, you know. But no matter what, Obama in a comma can and will do more for us all than McCain, Bush and Cheney all put together. Wake up all of your drones.

  • yeah you are right because that's exactly what COWARDS LIKE YOU DO. No matter what you degenerates try to do, IT'S OVER FOR YOU. Have a nice life, jerk.

  • 1 of 3

Look, I'm not a McCain supporter. I'm waiting for VPs, but I'm extremely likely to vote Obama.

All of that aside, McCain's energy policy is superior to Obama's, though we should not be drilling on our coasts, we should be drilling in Alaska.

This is all beside the point. Follow the money is right. The groups who oppose coastal drilling are funded by wealthy (often Republicans) with beach front property, and resort hotels who don't want their million dollar views obstructed.

    cont -->

  • 2 of 3

Come on. 6 years ago McCain was ready to leave the RNC party and become a Democrat. He is frankly about the most liberal Republican there is. To play him as a wing-nut in the pocket of big oil is absurd. We have an energy crisis, and he's putting a mix on the table, one of which is offshore drilling-- that won't happen, no matter who is elected.

    cont -->

  • He was never aiming to become a Democrat, he was looking to become an independent. He is by absolutely no rational measure the "most liberal Republican," that is simply as a result of his 2000 campaign branding. If you look at his actual record, he is, and has ALWAYS been, very, very conservative. He has almost 150 lobbyists working for or fundraising for his campaign. He's not in their pocket?

  • 3 of 3

On the other hand, the US needs a modern nuclear energy strategy. We're being left behind on a technology we once led. Though I will likely vote for Obama for other reasons, I find his energy policy rather disappointing.

    /end

  • I don't think that this ad will touch the intended audience, though the message is important. I think that Move On has done better, and can do better.

  • Who said anything disparaging? I simply asked a question about a medical condition you show evidence of having. You naturally taking offense at the question you're obviously asked a lot, coupled with your contined silence, speaks volumes.

  • This ad seeks to make it clear that the reason John McCain supports more oil drilling in the U.S. is not to lower prices and reduce dependence on foreign oil but to please big oil companies and help line their profits. The President of the US has a social responsibility to do what's best in the public interest for the nation but even our existing President caters to special interests. We don't need another special interest President. Support Obama!

  • Only the truth will set us free!

  • elegant display of factual evidence that implies a conclusion that McCain is influenced by these people in a way that he makes policy plans for them and not for the ordinary American. I'm sick of America, Inc. Didn't we reject monarchy in 1776? These "Captains of Industry" are only different form feudal lords by their self-chosen titles.

  • Excuse me for being blunt,

    but is this CHANGE?

This is the same bullshit partisan negative campaigning most of America is sick of...

I'm soo tired of liberals trying to drive this country apart.

I thought BHO(Barrack Hussein Obama) was suppose to be different, to bring people together..I guess not.. He's just more of the same 'ol same 'ol.

  • Uh, Barack Obama didn't do this. Are you retarded or something?

  • Ouch, that musta hurt ya

    :)

  • Oh, not at all, my simpleton friend. But I did notice that you avoided the question. Hmm...

  • BRILLIANT

  • It really is a terrible shame that more people do not realize who McCain really is. A traitor..? Go to Vietnam Veterans Against John McCain and decide for yourself... in my mind he sure is no hero..!

  • Move over Titanic! This is my new favorite movie!

  • All politicians do that in some ways, but Ma c Cain, following the Arizona tradition do it openly, exaggerate and without regard for public opinion

  • powerful ad i must say.

  • The main stream media has been unforgivably negligent when covering John McCain. The fact that he has had SO MANY big oil lobbyists on his payroll, recently reversed positions on offshore drilling AND accepted millions from the big oil companies (who are making windfall profits at a time of record prices at the pump) that he is supposed to legislate IN THE NAME OF THE COMMON MAN. This is a conflict of interest that is unforgivable, as is the media coverage of a man who will say anything to win.

  • wow great add... and the music makes McCain that much harder for the average American to support... what's the name of that piece that's in the ad? Anyone know?

  • money money money...

    Obama 2008

  • Great music! This video really captures the creepiness of the situation in which the American public finds itself and the invidious nature of the deceptions being perpetrated.

  • Thank-you Progressive Accountibility!

  • If McCain has it his way we will be subsidizing the oil companies so they can get every last drop of oil out of the ocean. This is a solution to nowhere!

  • e1040, you truly have no idea what you're talking about. Drilling more will hurt the environment, make us more addicted to oil, and make the oil companies richer and richer. Which of those is the reason you support it? Or is it just sheer stupidity?

  • -5 points for using Requiem for a Dream song.

Now, I am no fan of McCain but they could put the same ad out for Obama in regards to Wall street:

"Why does Obama support the banking bailout bill?"

insert list of the hundreds of banking lobbies here.

  • Only difference is Obama hasn't taken over 1 million in donations from the lobbyists since making that decision, as McCain has in the MONTH since deciding he wanted to drill offshore. Oops! Try again.

  • Wrong! Obama has taken no Money from Washington's lobbyists pushing thier agenda into the White House. McCain and his other half Bush will continue to support Big Oil which has put our country into an economic crisis. Drilling for oil is literally digging a deeper hole for our progress for a solution. Oil=Prolonging a Problem, we need a solution= Hydrogen. Lets spend our tax money on research not SUBSIDIZING OIL COMPANIES!

  • Let me ask one question of those who say off-shore drilling is a viable answer:

What will your children say about this decision when the environment suffers the consequences which they will, in turn, be left to deal with?

  • No way in hell will i support more handouts of public land oil leases to international oil traders when theyve already got approved leases they havent even touched. They have them in alaska they have them on the ocs etc. No way we sign off on a perpetuation of the same policies that created the mess we are in right now. It is the lack of developing alternatives that has created our dependence on imports. Show me something new in the way of alternatives and MAYBE I'll talk about more leases.

  • We have a moral responsibility to save wild places like the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge for future generations. Six months of oil is not worth the plunder of ANWR. Money spent on drilling would be much better used for energy alternatives. Thanks to our country's over-dependence on oil, gas prices have reached record highs, global temperatures are climbing, the polar ice caps are melting, sea levels are rising, and the U.S. is forced to import millions of barrels of foreign oil every day.

  • FUCK NO! Don't let them drill. You're a moron. The negligible savings that the average consumer will see from this is not worth the elevated risk of oil spills and wildlife endangerment.

That and oil companies already have plenty of other areas they can drill and are not! They are just trying to take advantage of the current hysteria of gas prices to get unfettered access into protected land areas, it's unconscionable!

We can't drill our way out of this problem.

  • ok, you dont agree. but im far from being a moron, try to make your point without name calling.

  • I'll call you a moron if I want to. It doesn't detract from the validity of my argument. So get over it.

  • call me anything you want just try to be original, freedom of speach is a womderful thing , dont waste it.

  • Instead of drilling for dirty energy we should be promoting efficiency and clean, renewable energy to address our nation's growing energy crisis.

  • absolutely

  • The big oil companies LOVE OPEC, they're not going to undercut OPEC. One reason Saddam Hussein drove the powerful crazy is that he started selling oil in Euros and undercutting Saudi control of OPEC. That's why PNAC signers including McCain called for getting rid of him way back in 1998.

  • The amount of oil that we could get from drilling in oceans would be very small. At the rate we use oil today, just here in the US, we would only get at the most 18 months worth. I'm not willing to risk damage to the environment that could take thousands of years to repair for 18 months worth of oil.

  • We need to invest in other energy options. There are plenty of other alternative energy solutions out there. One problem is that these energy companies don't want to effect their profit margins over the R&D it will require to bring them to a larger scale. Drilling offshore will prolong the transition, not to mention the environmental problems it will cause. Though we might see a drop in gas prices, it's not guaranteed to last very long.

  • the oil companies will not provide an alternative and will do everything they can to deter an alternative. we need to let them find more oil while we find an alternative that does not have fossil based feuls in the chain, like hydrogen from burning oil in the manufacturing proccess, it has been done look in the patent office

  • I'm going to have to suggest that you do your research here, these companies already invest into alternative energy R&D. The amount in which they do so depends on the limits in which we set for them to bring a form of energy to market. Remember that these people are selling energy, not oil.

  • yes they do research, and receive grants and tax breaks to do so. so far the best they have come up with is a process for creating hydrogen from burning more fossil based fuels than we currntly do in the conversion proccess.they have us by the short hairs until we find a more efficient means to convert hydrogen

  • That's one way to look at it, but the picture is a lot bigger than that. Our biggest problem that goes mostly unnoticed is that we are horribly wasteful with energy. From incandescent light bulbs to ICE engine that are less than 30% efficient. A combination of requiring higher efficiency standards, and developing a low ESR form of capacitor technology could make it possible to aquire most of our energy from solar and wind. This technology already exists. This is just one of many options.

  • hydrogen from solar is probably the best option, nano technology is starting to look good, more research into this area is needed

  • Exactly, and if we can stand firm in opposition to drilling and not allow them to continue to sell us energy in which we utilize very little compared to what's wasted, they will scramble to be on the front line of the alternative. They won't have a choice. There really isn't any better time than now to get a transition underway.
