Looks like a cross between an octopus, a sea spider and a jellyfish. Maybe they're all interbreeding and it's a plan, and eventually it will create a superspecies which nature designed to eradicate the human plague!

Oh gawd, this is soooooo amazing. I like the way the camera moves around for no reason and never gives a stationay shot of the squid. I like how the only thing moving on the squid is its head fins and doesnt seem to want to move. Then the fake video bucket at the end is cool too. I like that the most cause for some reason the camera stays on that longer than the squid. What a discovery.
the camera's main purpose is to monitor the oil rig parts and such, however scientists take shifts at keeping an eye on them as well in case something like this pops up. obviously they are trying to get it in the middle of the frame, hence the moving so they finally just zoom out. then they lose track of it/it leaves, so they go back to doing to what they're supposed to.
The camera is moving violently when all it has to do is move SLIGHTLY to get the squid in view. How could they "lose track" of the squid when it is clearly NOT MOVING? When this video first showed up on myspace, it didn't have all the writing and numbers on it or the oil message at the end. The bubbles are suspect and it is incredibly clear under this, "water". Then there's the video game bucket at the end. Fakelicious.

I take it back. After looking at a few other segments of this thing, it DOESN'T look like the head & mantle of a Humbolt. It has some squid like characteristics & some crab like characteristics. Question: Can a crab do a squid?

I had, or I THOUGHT I had, a fair working knowledge of squids 101, but this is a new one for me. Spooky looking critter.

It's from the squid genus Magnapinna. You can search it up on wikipedia if you want. I don't know much about them (no one does, really).
