I am crazy about Jethro Tull (I finally saw them live in 2005 - almost died of ecstasy). But this particular song is specially moving to me. It is both rousing and yet, pensive, even contemplative. 'so slip the chain and I'm off again. You'll find me everywhere 'cos I'm a Rover'...and the music at 2:15 for about 30 secs is just unforgettable. one of Ian A. and co.'s many masterpieces. Wow. Thanks for post
Ian was never in better voice than on Heavy Horses. Such a shame he needed a throat operation due to vocal cord damage a few years later. His voice will never be quite the same, but thank the Lord we have his best work recorded for our continued pleasure and that of future generations. Long Live Tull!
@BillySeagull his voice was quite hoarse (pardon the pun and spelling) on this album..IMO (great album by the way) I never heard about throat operation you are talking about
I love the 'Heavy Horses' album, some great songs. Amazing really, as in 1978, a lot of the bands of the Tull generation were really running out of steam and producing some awful stuff. This is quality though
@halohump899 open up itunes then stick the cd in the computer it should appear on the left side of itunes where the playlists are...click on it brings up the songs and stuff and in the button right there is a rip button click it and tht puts the cd on itunes then sync ur ipod with it...
@leganewu Igot it on vinyl but it was a second hand record.Supposing the first owner played it 1 mill times and then my million, that makes ... a (almost) broken vinyl.

It's nice. To let everyone who THE MAN is. A video would be nice, but it's nice to let everyone know who THE MAN is.

Warm thanks to Mr István Götzinger who introduced me to listen this music in 1977.
I have been loving it since then.

Great song. I'm going to record a cover of it I think. I'll use a little more drums, and I think a rickenbacker electric 12 here and there.
And i need to capo at third fret rather than second to help match my voice.
leswatts1 3 years ago
please, if you recor the cover and you upload it, tell me, I'd really like to listen to it =)
Aqualung1989 3 years ago
I will. I was just trying the guitar parts. Man they're hard! It will take a good bit of practice, and a lot of tracks to record it.
