@finnja414 i think it happened to quickly for the driver to do anything significant, the horse also looked way too stirred up to pay attention to any of his signals, i was thinking the same as you but then i thought it might have happened and ended too quick for the driver to have been able to make any significant change... his life could have ended then and there i think if he could have made a difference he would have.... anyways just my opinion :)
