No doubt gentlemen that you guys are great Light Infantrymen!The only thing that sucks in the U.S. Army is when they mean Light Infantry is that we fucking walk instead of riding Infantry Fighting Vehicles.The 82nd Airborne,101st Air Assault,and the 10th Mountain love to fucking march 25 to 50 miles the only exception is the 82nd Airborne,them bastards love to drop you by parachute a 100 miles back and march and fight your way home.Shit!That FUCKED ME UP!
What is the initial selection like for the rifles or is it the same as any other Infantry regiment? It doesn't say anything about fitness standards etc for the rifles on the army web site.
@TheDude8584 basically you have to attend a course called 'chosen man' which lasts five days, its selection before selection lol i failed my first chosen man because i didnt preper good enough. its hard!
@TheDude8584 Fitness is the same standard of other infantry units, get the 1.5 mile in less then 10:30 and you be good, you have to attend a course called chosen man, as lomg as you in shape and have abit of confidence you fly through it
No bone of contention lads, but The Rifles are not an elite Infantry group in the British Army, however, the Parchute Regiment is along with the Navy's sea soldier the Royal Marines.
@Supernova031 The RIFLES are the future. Paras are out of touch and over manned by ego maniacs and chavs that blow their own horns and dicks. Utmost repect for the Parachute Regt but its just not the same anymore which is why ive opted for Rifles.

@JakeSeeds YOU TAKE THAT BACK, its scientifically proven sharpe was real, evidence suggest's him and chuck norris had a fight,sharpe won. and the resulting combat method was taught to all rifleman.
