  • hes just warming up

  • Damn... That's a whole band of like 25 guys totally in sync from a groove. It's inspiring as hell to hear him play.

  • hes not showinf off.he was and is so far ahead of every single musician of all times.it just looks like he s showing off

  • Like it when he's feelin' it, in the groove!! Not showin' off, just doin' his thang!!!

  • Two people evidently don't know good music. They must be from that new generation that likes people like Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber.

  • i would have loved to have heard him on organ!!!

  • Somebody gave him a bad haircut!!

  • How CAN all the white folks in the audience just sit there like bumps on a log while this is happening? lol

  • @Pauline6173 it dont matter, Ray wouldnt have been able to see them anyhows.

  • Nat King Cole much? Haha

  • wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

  • Yeah, this is Ernie Wilkins' arrangement of Oscar's tune Blues For Big Scotia from the OP Trio record Bursting Out with the All Star Big Band. And then Ray puts Nat Cole's intro from Sweet Lorraine out front.

  • This is an Oscar Peterson tune called "Blues For Big Scotia". Go 'head, Ray!! Damn, this shit is SWINGIN'!!

  • @FridgeNatious His childhood man, his childhood. Sure he probably had lots of women but that doesn't make your life that much better. And yeah his life turned out very nice in the end I guess.

  • I don't know why, but every time I see Ray playing the piano I get the feeling it's his way of crying.

  • craazy technique :O BRAVO

  • idc if he is blind or if he aint he had that talent sent to his soul

  • the start kind of sounds like the start of Sweet Lorraine by nat king cole (kind of)

  • You're totally right.

  • it very much does, and i think it is probably a hark to King Cole out of respect. Its an awesome intro

  • @mogstacm i think oscar peterson or duke ellington played a variation of this

  • @mogstacm ISNT IT? I HEARD A VARIATION ON A OSCAR PETERSON RECORD BEFORE. I HEARD THE BANDS WOULD GET SAD WHEN bROTHER MADE THEM CLAP. WERE GETTING PAID TO PLAY INSTRUMENTS NOT TO CLAP. IT IS WHAT I HEARD ANYWAYS

  • Go Ray! Get 'em!

  • This is how it looks like when human feels the music...

  • Ok, never mind, I can't play keyboards. :\

  • I've heard Ray play "Blues For Big Scotia" before in a more recent day, this is great hearing him hammer it out on the old seventy-three.

    We miss you Ray.

  • All that and he's frigen blind!

  • i want to believe he wasnt ha ha. just so i wouldnt feel so bad about my own playing. he doesnt mess up.. skill!

  • haha thats quite a comment man :) what great man he was

  • Man, what a feel . Just AWESOME !!!

  • I believe this is Ray with the Basie band. His swing/jazz chops were amazing. What a loss! Thanks for the post!

  • I stand corrected - it's Ray's band. I've seen footage with Ray and the Basie band - thought this might be it.
