In Muang Sing Laos Exotissimo Travel agent gave the minorities orange pills and asking me if I had any pills to give to the villagers. I thought that this was weird the travel agent is no doctor and handing out random pills. Weird
Such swidden farming is not solely to hill societies, but also in lowland areas. But, due to demographic pressure, permanent farming is inevitable. However, instead of swidden, the Lao are familar with multiple cropping as we can see in Amazon: banana, mango, pine-apple, papaya, coffee and so on on the same farm. This system is very creative and good for global climate (CO2 emission problem).
I agree completely, Only now If Amazon crops stead in the amazon and Asian crops stead in Asia suppose to having the crop shipped to America or European countries. If wealth counties are making money framing labor exporting fancy fruits, also that minority should have Land Rights Language Rights, raise their children how they see fit. It's unethical to remove children from a village teach them a bible text of their original language,dump chemicals on the soil. Is part part of the C02problem?

What makes me unhappy and what village elders have told me about their languages is that it is unfair that their Traditional Language is being Reduced to the biblical Text. What if the languages where translated into the Declaration of human rights instead of the bible. Why are the ethnic villagers forced into the bible way of life? Bible translator gut nouns & verbs from languages destroying and distorting traditional culture.

yes, your are right.. I don't have to say that people eat dogs but I ate dog for the first time in my life because I asked to eat dog. it was really good and tasty... Just because most people in the global north don't eat dog doesn't mean that eating dog is bad. In fact so much food goes to waste in the global north because of bad distribution...
