Pretty nifty if you ask me. Shooting some cut shells is always an option. Besides, a bit of sandpaper and sealer will get the perfect fit on those wood grips if they're not jiving. And at $500. It's one of those "Why not" things I tend to keep in my truck.
I actually wouldn't mind seeing a line of these coming out in multiple calibers, especially if they had that Buntline-carbine style from the Civil War era, but in double-action. Just like the Mare's Leg: not exactly practical other than hunting, but must be a lot of fun to shoot!
I would agree that this firearm really serves no true purpose, its not good at one thing or another, not even home defense, BUT it is a sweet looking firearm. if you can get over that useless is the one word that best describes this gun then great. Thats why I want one!!! Accurate to about 75yrds at best in the 45lc and the 410 shell isn't good after 15yrds. For the fun of it, This makes for an expensive to shoot plinker if you don't reload your own. Cant wait to own one.
wow i want one, sadly irish gun laws, mean i will never have one.
in Ireland it took me about three months for all the paper work just to get a 12 gauge DB shotgun and my .22 air rifle took about 7 months to get. you guys can have your guns in a few days. no fare
@GunWebsites im gonna pick one of these up hopefully within the next 6 months is the colt 45 ok for deer hunting white tail deer? if it is ill be een happeir to get it cause im not sure about a 45
@loflaherty21 And I add my sympathy to you. I love cash and carry gun buying. I also love living in my NorthWest state: Idaho! I can shoot fifteen minutes from my house at two different locations and no problems! Love to have a gun range in my backyard someday
@loflaherty21 i can have my gun in 1 day. We believe in freedom here in the USA. :o) time for an Irish revolution so you can maintain democracy and the freedom to defend it!
@loflaherty21 Well brother, what you need is a second home in America! You can own any gun you want in the south as long as you are not a felon and you fill out the paperwork. You can even take classes and get a permit to carry a concealed firearm for self defense. I have never needed mine but it is a comfort. Hunting is a way of life for many in the south, it should be every man's right.
Revolvers with buttstocks aren't really that popular in practice because the cylinder gap puts a lot of gas and debris out near the face of a shooter once they get their face down near the gun-sights.
Its a cool looking little thing, but it probably won't be too pleasant to shoot. Also, .410 shot has a limited range, and a non-rifled barrel limits the range of the .45 longs too.
That gun would be so awesome if you could get a rifled barrel for it. It could do anything... Wow, I think maybe this could be my first "rifle" someday. Awesome looking gun
strange little cuss but i would like to check it out on the range to see what she is capable of doing and nice comment maddsmokerbbq that was some funny shit
It has no rifleing on the inside of the long mag. However there is the Taurus Circuit Judge and it can handle 410 45 acp and 45 mag. They look almost alike but the circuit has riffleing in the barre. Gotta love the judge series tho, safe reliable and ready to take on wat u have in store.
Ps there only legal in a couple states like Nevada.
I'll be honest, I think the gun is super sexy. Kind of has that steampunk theme.
I don't own any guns yet, but I'm in the market for one and am wondering if this will be a safe bet, it being multi-purpose and all. I'm curious to see how the .410 patterns from this thing, and how accurate it is at 50-100 yds with the .45LC. Seems though that a lot of gun enthusiasts are talking smack on it, but I just want to see what it can realistically do.
@deathisglorious Im with you this gun is so cool it will be my third gun i hope to get it as soon as it comes out. I love taurus just a bad ass gun if you ask me and i can shoot it at my local range 3 min away most rifles i have to drive over an hour to shoot because I live in the liberal state that is Illinois....
@mzmadmike i comes with a rifled choke and the bore on both the rifled and smooth bore its .454 for safe use with .45 colt and the rifled one comes with a choke take has straight rifling to stop the spin of the shot
@BearCIaw Don't need a Saiga - I already have a Safir Arms 410 upper for my AR system. Besides, what we're talking about here is a firearm that can shoot both 45 caliber cartridges and 410 shotshells (mix and match, in any order), and still maximize each caliber's effectiveness. I don't think that can be done with a semi-auto.
I bet that next year it will come out in .454 Casull/ 45 Colt/ 410 shotshell with six shots in a larger frame. If it does, i am going to have to get it.
I wonder if they could make it a trap or skeet gun. That would be cool! because it is light and not front heavy like the pumps or semi. The OU shotguns are not front heavy, and I suspect this is a cheaper way to get multiple shots into a really light gun.
The thing about using revolver tech in a long gun is that you don't have to slim down the cylinder like you do for a handgun. You can make it 10 rounds, 15 rounds or more. I don't know why Taurus/Rossi decided to go with the 5 shot cylinder when they already have a 7 shot Judge line.
I like the comment about using these as the ultimate home defense or truck gun. Revolvers always go bang when you pull the trigger, no FTE's, no jams, etc. Fill it full of rifled slugs or buckshot!
Well, at least it makes a hell of lot more sense as a shotgun vs. a handgun. I can see it as a safe home defense shotgun. The reviewer had no clue why the cutout was in the stock. Clearly, this is for a speed-loader.
That's kind of a neat novelty item, not a whole lot of practical use for it though. I'd take the smooth bore model to the opening day of dove season just so all the guys could see it, but then it would need to have a 3 shell limit to meet regulations.
I would buy it! It would make a great truck gun. Snakes, varmints, small game hunting, etc. It reminds me of the old cattlemen carbines. Those are cool guns too.

frenchtoast2eat 1 year ago
@deathisglorious It's cool looking but a waste of money.
.45 Colt is more powerful than .410, so why bother with .410?
The case diameters are similar but the bores are substantially different.
In the smoothbore, the .45 is inaccurate (as in REALLY inaccurate).
In the rifled bore, the smaller .410 is inaccurate (as in REALLY inaccurate).
So for the cost of a decent used revolver and a good new shotgun you've got something that does neither.
