I love how people only compare the hardware of the Mac against that of a Windows PC. Obviously it's about the Operating System / Kernel. I use both a PC I built and a black Macbook. The PC has Vista for games, but defaults to OS X 10.5 Leopard on boot. The difference? I did have to pay for a second license for Leopard, and so Apple profited. Theft =/= EULA violation. I had to install all of my hacked drivers using bash, and to this day some hardware just doesn't have a working or bugfree driver. Apple also charges more for clever engineering, buildmanship, and aesthetics that separate AAPL from competitors; Honda vs. Audi: style.

* By upgrading i meant hardware. but in the case of laptops any sort are hard to upgrade the hardware so no black mark against apple on that one.

* A mac can even be triple booted with ubuntu, mac os 10 and vista via a double partition. The live disc is all that is needed to install ubuntu.

* "parralells" desktop can be used.

Logitech is supposed to make a great line of webcams, including one that is right on par with the built-in iSight. Unfortunately, a webcam at 2.0 or 2.4 megapixels is going to be pricy, I would try to find an original USB or Firewire external iSight, on eBay or CraigsList, free local want ads, or garage sales. Not only is it going to work better, but there's no doubt your PB would support it.
