I think over Christmas break I'm going to call major business owners for Graphic Design to see what their opinion of Art Institute graduates are. That may also be a good idea to get more followers...
I am an Art Institute of Dallas alumnus. I graduated and got a job working in the games industry. I did very well there working on AAA titles (the big money games) until I left to start my own business.
Many folks that graduate from Ai do very well and many do very poorly, just like any college. The curriculum was laughable. It was super easy and definitely FOR PROFIT. The only ones that will do well are ones that will do well no matter what. Research before you decide to enroll ANYWHERE.

I made the unfortunate decision to go to the art institute online and just too close to finishing that I have to finish. 180 goddam credits for a BACHELORS... NOT A MASTERS... Less than half way through I tried transfering. AIO Counselors and advisors are flat out useless and will never help you with it and other schools wont take any credits?! I feel a class action lawsuit coming on. GREAT VIDEO BY THE WAY. :)

Employers-I know of American Greetings, Stan Winston Studios, EA and various special effects studios. I also have other children in other universities that are "non-profit" but when I look at the tuition-its in the same ballpark as the tuition for AI so I think college anywhere is expensive!

They do not prepare students for the high paying jobs they claim they do. Recruiters and advisors lie and distort employment rates, along with just about everything else. There are terrible things going on at these schools that are not happening at colleges everywhere.
@spattdaman The only reason the accreditations are different is because EDMC buys out dying schools, renames it, and tries to either keep the accreditation or patch it into an existing one with one of their other schools and leach. They're like McDonalds trying to get their grab on all areas of the US, except they're a college. They're flooding the fields with people who will not be able to find work or pay back the debt.

IF they're such a scam....how come they have over 100,000 alumni, many of which are stars in the industries? For profit versus non-profit colleges? Give me a break. compare the tuition of Art Institutes and other EDMC schools with other "non-profit" colleges/universities. My daughter attended an AI on-ground school and loved her experience including staff, faculty, the labs, everything.

Let me pose this question to you - IF they're such a respectable college - why are none of their credits recognized by ANY other schools? Why are they non-transferable to their OWN schools? Because they're accreditation is bogus. Why are there literally 100s of outraged students? Why is the DOJ suing them for fraud? Why are recruiters aggressive? Do your research. The evidence is irrefutable.

Of 100,000 students, maybe 6 are "Stars in the industry" the rest are working at Walmart/Target/FedEx Office (Kinko's) or other Retail jobs if they don't live off their parents and blaming themselves. These schools concentrate on being "hip" and "cool" and "social". What they DON'T concentrate on is their INSANE tuition and the fact their classes are rubbish.
There wouldn't be 1,000s of students speaking out against these schools if everything was as YOU think it is.
EDMC had a settlement with the Department of Justice in 2008. So everyone who attends ai, brown mackie, agrosey, look up disability measurements and measure the doors, bathrooms, water fountains, barriers that would not fit wheelchair regulations! EDMC is not immune to disability laws!!!

Anyone else get charged get charged class room and equipment charges while attending the online division? It makes no sense why am I paying for classroom upkeep when I'm at home attending poorly structured classes at home?
