Singaporean teachers please stop teaching your pupil to pronounce flour as /flɑ:/ . All native speakers, including Australians and Canadians pronounce it as /flaʊ-ə/. Go look up the dictionary if you know how to read phonetic alphabet. If not just go to any cake-making video conducted by Caucasians. My tutees ask me if they should pronounce the right or the wrong one at an oral exam if this word appears in the reading passage.
