@glen958 Sad maybe, but in reality, the ship was getting old and they have to make way for bigger, better ships. Just like they are supposed to be retiring this ship, the Pride of Calais, as their new flagship, Spirit of Britain, is far better.
@TazzChazz Over 10 years ago, I used to go on the ferries a lot too - going back and forwards to the south of France. We stopped taking the car down there in 2000, as we decided it was a lot cheaper, faster and more comfortable to go by air. Since then, we have used Easyjet from Luton to Nice three times a year. Never been on a cruise though.
@Amandamoo73 Lol I have just come back from Luxembourg and I was onboard the "Pride of Calais" again!!! It's still rickety and old! I'll be uploading that video in the next week or two. Thanks.
my first few holidays were great but now i've done it it all feels to familiar and one area of land feels the same as any other apart from geographical differences. It just seems ultimately dissapointing now and one city feels just like the next. I am learning that this planet is pretty similar all over and the differences make little difference to ur actual existance as a human being. it still feels the same.
@TheSlapdown Oh. That's sad. Although, when I went on her, she was beginning to show her age. I guess it's time for her to retire and begin life as a new vessel. She's been in service since 14th December 1987, so she's had a good long run.
@craiglsimons After a trip on the Spirit Of Britain (a freighter in disguise) I've made the switch to DFDS Seaways. Will travel on the Pride of Calais before she goes though.
@craiglsimons Spirit of Britain is modern, but with less on board. Plenty of que generators in akward places. Laughable aft bar (small), deck bar closed, smokers deck closed, dirty glass on stern deck you can't see through or over. Food court seating closed off on a busy sailing. Also there are no quite lounges! But yeah, she is modern. At least with DFDS I can lean over the railings and enjoy the sea!

@TheSlapdown I don't know which ship i'll be on when I travel to Luxembourg at the end of August. Hopefully, it'll be a nice, modern ship!
