  • Too bad the unborn can't vote. There the ones who will pay dearly for all this "free" stuff.

  • this guy is a racist spewing nonsense and hatemongering!! /s

  • @1androo2 LOL You sound like another lockstep Liberal. You have to call the man a racist because you can't deal with the facts that he presents that show that there really is "no free lunch" in this world. It shows some idiotic courage though to call this inteligent elderly black conservative man a racist, I will give you that. LOL You couldn't be more lockstep liberal if you followed up "racist" with calling him an "Uncle Tom", or how about slave to the white man. thats original!!! LOL

  • @CyberSpaceman81 LOL.... i love how you don't know what /s means.... it's kinda hilarious in fact, because that's exactly the response i was trying to illicit... /s means "sarcasm Off", or in other words, "ok, i'm done being sarcastic"

your laugh gave me a good laugh, thanks =)

  • @1androo2 just be more direct next time, dont assume that people know what you mean

  • It's got bad cars of the road; instead of keeping them ion the road and the new car do pollute let then that old car did

  • Just let me keep more of the money I work for. I'll decide what I want to do with it.

  • Free money is bad so lets end no bid contracts for coporations.

  • I want my free money now!

  • Join the Historic revolution of the Zeitgeist Movement. a better world. a world without money!.

  • There's another way to get FREE MONEY from a debit card ... legally. :)

  • Great video, Mr. Hicks.

  • wrong Roosevelt

  • Socialism doesnt happen overrnight. Its gradual. First one industry, then the next is taken over by the feds. Obama just so happens to be very abrupt and obvious in doing so.

  • this program basically is the government going into debt to the Chinese to pay you to trade a perfectly functional car for which you have no loan and go into debt too to buy an imported car, hence stimulating the trade deficit. i wonder where these idiots came up with the idea(probably some unions did it lol). you people need to read the broken window myth of hazlit.

  • Just one of the many epic failures so far, with many to follow. Gotta love the redistribution of wealth.

  • Wrong,

    Wrong,

    Wrong,

    Wrong,

    Wrong.

  • @Relugus

You are the one reason I'm leaning toward government regulation of the Internet. Relugus, you should be arrested for wasting our time. Reading your list, actually made me dumb.

  • This economic strategy is a mere step to Obama's eventual socialism goals. The underpinning idea of economic socialism is to pay more in taxes so that the national wealth is distributed more evenly (you are investing in your country with the return of better public services). Such specific policies become questionable but government always have avid reasons to their approach.

  • @badluck1986 any economist worth his salt knows that its inefficient as fuck. lol. the reasons are political, but from a scientific approach, i can say its inefficient.

  • hey jackass carbon credits are not real, carbon savings dont exist, its just like my 401k in pixie dust it dont mean shit,

Sure i can save 10000% in butt fag fag dollars but that is not the same as saving one real dollar,

Point is, no one gives a shit about Carbon savings, its fake currency, made up by jobless ass fags

  • Well to be correct some of the forign auto makers are more american made then say Jeeps or Chevi, but with that said , can the Govt stop spending our money already? If Americans want to donate to help out poor families they will, and are doing that already, but to take that which is not theirs and give it to some1 else, anyway you turn it, it is still reminds me of theft.

  • Thanks for sharing your good sense, Mr. Hicks!

Expasion of government into our lives.... No thanks, I don't need it.... Keep your change, Marxists.

  • "7 series benz" lol

  • This guy is a racist...oh wait.

    Damn you Libertarians. ;) jokes.

  • st4ticblu3 lol

  • Slate looked at the economics vs. environment issue: IF everyone keeps their govt car for at least TEN YEARS, then the COST will be $176,000 per ton of CO2 'saved'. Right now, a ton of CO2 is going for $17 on the Euro Climate Exchange! 17 freaking dollars! For the non-economic, this means we could have 'saved' the same amount of CO2 by buying them from the Euros for a measly $290K instead of wasting $3 BILLION, OR 10,353 TIMES AS MUCH MONEY!

  • ... I need to add that this was BEST CASE.

Most people don't keep their car for 10 YEARS. The CO2 savings is over the full term of using the car, not all up front. So if they buy a car at only six years instead of keeping it for TEN, then total saved CO2 is either zero or into negative territory.

Obviously, the environment was just used to cloak the whole attempt to boost car sales for the sake of the govt motors/unions. This is further suggested by the fact that Ford had some trucks excluded.

  • Yep, you are right, wrong Roosevelt (that's Teddy) , though they were distant cousins.

  • I agree completely with this video, but isn't that Teddy Roosevelt in the video and not FDR, like it should be? I'm sure this has already been brought up, though. FDR plowed under crops when millions were starving so he could increase prices. Win for the farmers, but a huge huge loss for the American people who were struggling to make ends meet in the Depression.

I love these videos. I found one off of Reddit's libertarian section, and now I'm addicted to watching them. Keep up the good work!

  • Love watching your videos, keep them coming.

  • Didn't "Cash for Clunkers" come out after Government Motors, I mean General Motors was taken over by our government? I thought I heard or read somewhere that their "Green" cars did not make nearly as much money in sales as the other vehicles that they (Obama & Co) want to get rid of. Perhaps Obama was attempting to increase sales and the legitimacy of the government takeover by boosting sales of "Green" cars by paying people to buy them. Isn't that attempted fraud?

  • Loved the video but when he was talking about President Roosevelt during the depression years having farmers destroy their crops it was Franklin Roosevelt that was the president during that time, and they showed video of Teddy Roosevelt.

  • spot on!

  • Government Motors (GM) and Mafia motors (Fiat/Chrysler) didn't fare so well w/ this program.

Ford - No bailout - did.

  • I love this guy!!!!

  • The French economy is pulling out of a tail spin and starting to make a strong turnaround. They didn't get into bailouts and government takeovers, it was to socialist even for them. If the lazy, 32 hour work week, 6 protests/strikes a month, come to work drunk french can dig out with out the government then why not America? Is the economic recovery because of the bailout or in spite of the bailout?

Obama = the grinch who stole the economy.

  • This isn't your best work man and I'm a huge pjtv fan. As for the government and cash for clunkers, yep its gov stepping way into what they shouldn't be doing, but if they were gona give the auto industry a bailout they should have done the whole 30 billion that way. At least we all would benefit from it, not just the unions and politicians. I'm sure they will have nice lobby job after their terms, which will be up in 2010 for alot of dems ,lol only took them 2 years to screw up this bad.

  • Only 4 star this time, For using Teddy not FDR

  • Thanks for the video.

A connection I haven't heard anyone else make yet...

We (much of the world) are in an economic tailspin, a portion of which is the result of U.S. government politicians bringing about a situation where people too poor to afford a mortgage were given mortgages?

Bankers and politicians profited (and continue to profit) from this. Taxpayers and poor people lost.

How long before these cash for clunkers partakers will not be able to afford their new car payments?

  • Great video 5 stars.

  • What is it that liberals find so complicated to understand? We don't want "free anything" because the price tag is too high -- the government in YOUR back pocket stealing MORE money from you and redistributing it to a bunch of slackers! I don't want big ANYTHING in my bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, television, etc. Allow me to choose - not some bureaucrat! The price of free stuff is always FREEDOM!

  • your government at work. good ol' marxist thinking. if we're lucky we'll be set up like germany say,,,,,, in about,,,, 1937. yeah their progressive regime really worked wonders for germanys' future...... f#ck this regime and anyone that is still backing him??,,,, f#ck you

  • i have 5k for the continental @ :19 . if it got crushed, that's enough reason for revolution alone....seriously!!!!

  • This Guy = AWESOME!

  • I don't understand why the Cash for Clunkers applies to so many manufacturers. It should have only applied to GM, Ford and Chrysler vehicles. (if it was done at all) That way, you could at least claim that you're removing excess inventory from American dealerships, which in turn means that you can fire up the US automakers production plants again. But roughly as many foreign vehicles were purchased as domestic. Big Government Fail

  • We need more people helping PJTV. It is better than MSNBC and produced with less than a millionth of the money.

  • Outstanding points in this video but that was the wrong Roosevelt. Should have been FDR and not Teddy. Oops.

  • Wrong Roosevelt. I like to watch you guys but you seriously need to make sure like that doesn't happen. It really makes you look stupid.

  • do your research, poor brainwashee. roosevelt was a hideous moron ( or a damn traitor). he did exactly what was said on this vid. do your own research, don't depend on nbc for your historical knowledge, it makes you seem very uninformed, righfully.

  • Fool, they used a video a Teddy Roosevelt instead of FDR, who was the Roosevelt they were talking about.

That was my point. Teddy was a VERY different president than FDR.

  • The Agricultural Adjustment Act (AAA) (Pub.L. 73-10, enacted May 12, 1933) restricted agricultural production in the New Deal era by paying farmers to reduce crop area. Its purpose was to reduce crop surplus so as to effectively raise the value of crops, thereby giving farmers relative stability again.FDR not Teddy. Theo Roosevelt was a great President, he was assertive, did what he had to do to protect the American people kind of guy. He didn't bend over for bureaucrat bastards and big money.

  • While that Cash for Clunkers is going on, Fannie Mae wants an additional $10.7 Billion. WTF? Where is my $25,000 bailout from the government? What is the point of giving money to failing companies?

Am I the crazy one here, or every citizen should be upset and ask for the same as well? LOL

  • I think I'll keep my 1965 Ford Falcon... lol Not that I would sell it in the first place.

  • OMFG FREE MONEY SUCCESSFUL???? I didnt see that one coming. Stupid govt.

  • People around me have been buying Toyotas for the last few years. I must ask: Aren't they built here? There are plants, dealerships and repair shops here, right? Jobs created here, right? I'm not sure it's wrong to buy Honda or Toyota.

These "foreign" cars are not Ford, Chevy or Chrysler, but they are part of your local economy.

I just think GM should have cut costs and NOT taken any bailout money. Ditto for Chrysler.

God bless the FORD Motor Company.

  • yeah PJTV you showed the wrong Roosevelt

  • thats what i thought. thanks for making conservatives look stupid

  • hey dude dont generalize and dont be hating conservative and liberal are only titles we as Americans all want to get to the best lifestyle for all we all just have different paths of getting there ones not better than the other just different lengths and we all must bond and work together to get there just my thought but please stop the labeling there is already enough division in this country already lets work together!!

  • One is better than the other. When you use "we all, bond, and together" too much it outs you as a communist. Stop trying to subvert me you pinko commie trash. ;)

  • Which Pres Roosevelt did you mean to show?

Anyway, they took $4500 of my money to give to someone else to buy a new car... And a new car payment and higher insurance. Then they destroyed the old car, preventing it from entering the market as a low-cost option for someone who can't afford a NEW car. Great. Create new consumer debt, and sell a bunch of SUVs (yes, there's even a Hummer that qualifies on the plan). Nothing more than vote-buying tactics. ='[.]'=

  • Yeah, when they lose their job, they won't have a car. At least the old one was paid for. I can't wait to hear about all of the reposession of these vehicles. The gov't did the same thing with the housing market.

  • Wow...how about if we just don't spend money that isn't ours to begin with? I think the movie is spot on. Just one thing. they should site sources when making statements like "studies have shown that there will not be a significant impact on the enviornment". Where did that come from?

  • Well, it takes energy to scrap those vehicles, it takes energy to build new ones,. Those factories and scrapyards don't run on rainbows and good intentions. Tons of fuel will be expended, it also does nothing to affect the people driving the real clunkers, you know, the people who can't afford a new car with the smoke belching jalopies. It also hurts the economy.

  • I find it very funny that they ran cash for clunkers for putting better MPG cars on the road. THEN Government Motors brings out the Chevy volt @ 230 miles per gallon AFTER the money is gone. Correct me if I am wrong here. But if the government now owns part of GM shouldnt they have known when the best MPG car in history was going to be released? Maybe held back alittle so people could buy that? Now they want us to trust them with our lives"Healthcare" ? I THINK NOT!!!!!

  • I agree on that, though it should be put to productive use in the free market, rather than be wasted in inefficient, short-term government spending. The U.S. should have a production-based economy, not a consumption-based economy.

  • You are so right. When are you running for office?

  • There is no such thing as a 'free market'. There is such a thing as a market that is free of rules, Somalia is a good example of this.

I wouldn't consider building public infrastructure as short term. A bridge build by government funding will pay dividends for at least half a century.
