@We are performing this piece in one of my ensembles.. there are 4 different parts Tenor (or alto 2), alto, lead, and soprano. I'm not sure where to get the music, however..
WOW, I'm doing a mix for another Choral group and I wanted to find the spelling on the song "Bring Me Little Water, Silvy" (wanted to make sure I was spelling Sylvie correctly) Anyhoo, I came upon your version WOW, its rocks. Your group is fantastic. Great timing and such a soulful bluesy vibe. 5 Stars!!!
Can you tell me which woman is singing which part? I'd love to know who's singing what! I love this video so much, and I watch it every little once in a while :)
@henrybutler09 i believe the alto part is always to the left and the sopranos are to the right. But that's from the prospective spot when your singing it. When you watch them the higher part is to the left and the lower part is to the right where Moira Smiley is.
I have always loved this song since I first heard Leadbelly play it. I am addicted to this version for its rythmn and upbeat qualities. My hat is off to these exuberant girls and whomever Moira is, hat's off to her also for a great arrangement!!! Keep it up!
"she brought me a cup of coffee .she brought me a cup of tea.she brought me nearly every damn thing but she did'nt bring the jail house key" comes from Harry Belafonte's recording of the song, which is here on YouTube.
they are very very good, but in the 50s record . she brought me a cup of coffee .she brought me a cup of tea.she brought me nearly every damn thing but she did'nt bring the jail house key i'm still looking for the song with these words. you girls are awsome
still trying to figure out who is singing the highest voice, the blond on the left or the dark on the right.Keep listening....Beautiful,amazing, and awesome...
I can't stop watching this. SO GREAT. love how the singers and voiceparts play off of each other and interact. what a diverse and great group of people and voices.
i will never get tired of this version of this song! ABSOLUTELY in love with it! heard moira perform at warren wilson years ago with the chorale and i fell in love with it then!!! THANK YOU so much!!!!
hey i was here in decorah when you guys came to the elks club and i want to say that i never liked singing, but now i do! thank you so much! i love this song! im always humming it and doing the body percussion! THANK YOU FOR COMING TO OUR TINY COMMUNITY!
I have heard a few differnt arrangements of this song, including the original, preformed live and i would have to say this is BY FAR the best arrangement....the Harmony is like WHOA....love the way it sounds, beautiful vocals....MAKE MORE!!!!

Hi Moira et al.,
Looking forward to your performance in Vancouver with the No Shit Shirleys next month!
A question: Are there 4 parts you are singing here? I can hear 3 - is the tenor doubling the soprano?
