  • "misguided", yep that pretty much sums up MSNBC

  • Was there something worth the 1:38 I spent watching this non-news?

  • both of you are not as smart as ratigan... fox is not news.

  • msnbc faking things??

    NO way!!!!

btw....ever notice republican women are usually very hot looking? but liberals are always ugly dykes?

  • @Hydrocodone Ever notice that republicans have only two digits in their IQs? Some of the most stupid people belong to the Republican Party.

  • @brt929 Ever notice that democrats have only one digit in their IQs?

The most stupid people on the planet belong to the Democratic Party.

  • how do you "mistake" clearly Photo shopped pictures?

  • I hate MSNBC!!

  • That was some funny ass shit! LMMFAO!

  • the guy at the beginning answered his question of why people are "infatuated" with Palin within the first 20 seconds of the video... The ONLY reason is because she was "covered" by the media... literrally covered, smothered and exploited. No one really gives a crap but the unemployed people who have time to follow her every move. the rest of us are still trying to pay off her bosses debt and feed their greed.

  • Mistakenly used...LIAR. "We took measures to make sure it would never happen again." Of course, because this no-balls loser is petrified of the Palins and he and the station knew they'd get their asses kicked if they didn't grovel. What a poor excuse for a "man."

  • MSNBC is a dick

  • I hope Sarah Palin makes porn soon. Before she gets too old. That would we awesome. At least some naked pics!! C'mon!!!

  • msnbc is a fucking joke

  • @cocobear33 All our media is a fucking joke. Fox, MSNBC, CNN etc. etc.

  • Yeh right, I am sure! That is the most unsencere apology. Go take a hike MSNBC.

  • Our media has lost its way... its unfortunate....

  • Has this A-Hole been fired yet?

  • The left sexualizes women they disagree with in an attempt to put into question their legitimacy.

  • Dylan Ratigan wouldn't have to apologize if he were an honest journalist.

Then again, he wouldn't have a show on MSNBC.

    Tough Call

  • @kh739 It's the liberal equivalent of Fox...

  • hahahaa . he wanted to laugh at the end . he was actually trying so hard for a serious face

  • Palin will never become President. America isn't dumb enough to do it...wait, we did elect George Bush to two terms. Crap.

  • Don't forget that America also elected Obama, a moron who believes that there are 57 states.

Why should anyone be surprised that the country is hurting right now when you have a community organizer in charge ? I mean, the USA has a freaking community organizer at the hel who is way in over his head -- is it any wonder that there are record high deficits & unemployment ?!!

  • Don't forget that America almost voted for a Vice President who...

    Doesn't know about economics.

Doesn't know what a Vice President does.

    Can't answer questions...at all.

    Wants to profile Muslims.

Makes fun of old politicians when running with...old politicians.

You can criticize Obama all you want, but we can also criticize Palin all we want too.

  • America DID actually elect a moron like Obama who thinks there are 57 states. Brilliant, hahaha.

Obama is a dumb community organizer who has doubled the deficit and lost more than 3 million jobs in only ONE year. Nice job, genius !

  • Well, America DID elect a lot of morons in the past...I don't think I should list them because one most recently is universally known.

57 states...BIG FREAKING DEAL. Word of mouth. Oh well. Did I lose my job because he said that? No. Did we get attacked for that mistake? No. Did he get impeached? No. Oh well. I guess this "moron" will continue to be PRESIDENT.

  • Comment removed

  • Pimping your country ain't easy, son.

  • And Obozo.

  • The 3 million jobs lost wasn't because of Obama you idiot. This disaster in job losses started in October 2008 under Bush.

The capitalism system is the job loss problem. In the last 4 presidencies, It is a well known fact that Democracts have lowered the unemployment rate more than Republicans.

Obama was given a mess by Republican president.

  • And Obozo and the best economic advisors money can bribe said if the Stimulus Bill passed unemployment would NOT go above 8%

  • Have you looked at individual states? More than half of states unemployment rates are still under 8%.

Plus, layoffs are being cause by corporations. The stimulus plan isn't giving them money like Son of a Bush in his bailout.

  • LOL, and yet Obozo keeps the bailouts flowing like water. Look's like Obozo is just another Bush term. And so what does state by state unemployment have to do with anything? Each state has it's own makeup of types of jobs and businesses so it will obviously vary. I don't know any unemployend Farmers here in NJ. But I know a lot of manufacturing people out of work, myself included.

  • How many bailouts did Obama flow exactly? ONE. Manufacturing companies aren't told by Obama to get rid of you, they do it on their own. They want to make money, not have you make money. So don't blame Obama for your companies layoffs.

  • Actually Obama has extended the $700 billion dollar TARP until October 2010.

  • you need some documented facts to support your claim...

during the nineties, UNDER CLINTON, noted economists claimed we would never go above 95% employed rate in America. UNDER GWB we broke inside of the top 5%.

the mess started in the derivatives market during the nineties, under clinton again this exacerbated with the Community & Reinvestment Act of 1979, ahem CARTER, led to the housing fiasco

BARNEY FRANK: FREDDIE MAC/FANNIE MAE are sound and solvent. HEY WAIT BUSH LIED, IT'S ALL HIS FAULT

  • @kh739

No no no. YOU need to get some documented facts. You need to check some graphs but unemployment rate lowered under Clinton to the top 5% point. The mess started with George W Bush, he completely lifted regulations with the banks.

Carter was a fiasco. So was Nixon, Hoover, and Ford...Republicans.

  • Ignore all the facts you like, docuboy the fact remains that when clinton left office he was running his mouth about all of the "new home purchases" that occurred under his terms. Bush tried to stop the looming housing crisis and it was killed by party line votes by Dems every time it was tried. These "liar loans" started during the 90's and this led to the collapse. That is why Frank's statement is important. Go back and study the real graphs you haven't read and then STFU. :D

  • Hey, that sounds awfully close to about the time that Democraps had taken control of both the House and Senate. Therefore, it was those idiots controlling America's purse strings. Added is the fact that the banking meltdown, due in partly to the mortgage loan mess created by Frank, Dodd, etc. (something Bush had warned these Demoraps about) was under the Democrap's watch.

    Hmm...makes you wonder...

  • Comment removed

  • When she becomes your president you'll be kissing he ass or else.LOL!!

  • No wonder these guys ratings are in the toilet. gee whiz.

  • Does he think we really believe him??

    Get real buddy.

  • not a Palin fan or anything but that would have never happened if she was a man. As horrible as Bush was even to the extent of throwing a shoe at him they never did anything like that to him. I winder if its people being pushed to the edge with Americas politics, Palins politics or if its just because shes a woman. I dont see them doing that to anybody else on national television.

  • Why bother apologizing? I'm sure their 16 viewers don't care.

  • Stupid MSNBC. Does anyone even watch this Obama propoganda channel?

  • No worry's MSNBC

I couldn't think any less of you!

  • When does MSNBC apologize for Keith Olbermann?

  • Sarah doesn't wear a star spangled bikini and shoot Ak47s by the pool ?

  • I have my suspicions about "mistaken" use of the photos without checking the veracity, as the photos were not shot by msnbc.

However, just like the fixed and bullshit channel using their own footage to bolster the bachmann bat shit rally, an unconditional apology was warrarted. The times oreily has been busted, he has fabricated a lie or thrown out an excuse or qualification. Malmedy, twice.

  • wow, for a so called news media source, this is just shameful. Sometimes I wish there was a hole in my screen where i could just reach through and choke an ignorant "newscaster"

  • Where the fu** is liberal viewer?

  • fact is if she had aborted 2 kids, expressed interest in women sexually, and hated men, the Liberals would adore her no matter what else she said or believed in.

it is as if they have this cue card they read from.

  • now i understand why msnbc only has 17 viewers

  • Poor libtards, just can't handle the truth!

  • No one watches that pisstank news network PMSNBC where they have host who get thrills up and down their legs everytime that Obama Guy opens his mouth.

  • apologize? r u kiddin me? keep them comin guys! only drives up sale of her book! cant wait to get a copy n find out why d hell u guys r so deathly AFRAID of her!!!

  • Fuck that whore! Photoshop the shit outta that stupid ass bitch!

  • Quit flattering yourself. You wish you could get a girl like me. Unfortunately for you, I know dust rags that are more interesting.

  • Yes, much better than FOX, which "Throw[s] up ANyTHING and then" never even bothers to let their audience know it was fake. e_e

  • You know, most people can say what they need without resorting to profanity. I guess you're the exception to the rule, though. e_e

  • PMSNBC is profanity. Maybe someone will flush them down the ratings pisshole soon.

  • The reason people like to pick on Palin is that's she is a sucessful woman who owes nothing at all to the liberal side, and that simply can't be allowed (ask Linda Chavez). The left has a tougher "Fair-Game" policy for conservative women than Scientology could ever get away with.

  • Fox News gets better rating because it's a fucking sideshow. They report on articles from the onion and spout racist horse shit on a daily basis. The Fox and Friends host spent some time discussing racial purity the other day without getting fired. Case closed. MSNBC apologizes when it makes a mistakes - Fox News only makes mistakes.

  • I've never seen that guy before... lol MSNBC

  • fuckn liberal gay channel....

  • what a douchebag fucktard. Eat a dick you moron.

  • Why apologize everyone knows MSNBC lies and fabricates and is just a propaganda arm of the white house.

  • MSNBC should be apologizing everyday on the air for the bullshit they spew out, especially Olberman and Maddow.

  • Ron Paul draws crowds and money from the PEOPLE, not the lobbyists.

  • "mistakenly used" geett the FUCK out of here. It's not like they "accidentally" found those photos, cut them, and then "accidentally" placed them in there program.

You guys over there at MSNBC are so jealous of Palin's good looks and popularity you can't help but try and cut her down. Bunch of haters. Fuck you!

  • oh im sure she'll thank msnbc for the publicity and no wonder FOX news gets better ratings!!!

  • Now be fair and use some clearly photoshopped image displaying Obama as the political cyborg that he is. Maybe one that depicts a teleprompter attached to his head.

  • "Our staff MISTAKENLY used some CLEARLY PHOTOSHOPPED IMAGES of Governor Palin." I'm not buying it MSNBC.

  • Meh, this is no different than when Fox aired footage of two different tea parties to make the crowd look bigger. In my opinion, most of the news networks are bogus.

  • Shameful. This is the network level folks, and you knew these were fakepics going to air.

Again, shameful. Imagine if they had done this with Hillary Clinton.

    Double Standard? You bet!

  • MSNBC, CNN, ABC, & CBS air FAKE NEWS

  • Which could explain why most if not all of those networks are tanking in the ratings. Look, why do you think this Obama Guy and his gang of merry Henchmen brought up all of that negative horsehockey about Fox News? Fox is one of the few news networks that will try and present the other side of the arguments. Their hosts do not get tingly feelings up and down their legs at the sight of this Obama Guy.

  • Dan Rather aired fake new's why can't the rest of these losing networks follow his footsteps.

  • I guess this little pantypuss thinks those little comments funny. A lot of us would have dunked this little twerps head down the ole flusssheroo when we were in high school. Just another little pantypussy dweeb.

  • hot? aka no one in the republican part is below age 40.

  • Dream on Angel. You will see in the 2010 elections just how many people across the age spectrum are conservative. Peaceful and legal change in 2010!

  • "Peaceful and legal change in 2010!" Yeah, thats why we need to continue to bring guns to peaceful protests.

  • these were pics posted by roves

third knee employees as she was picked is my bet.

    some say so.

  • Cant even tell photo shopped pics, yet we are to believe, when these idiots report the news? Abrams was the only one who actually knew what he was doing and kieth made sure they got rid of him..the most important thing is,These are the people our PRES has in his pocket, makes you wanta go uhmmmmm....

  • wow, MSNBC has gone off the deep end. They honestly believe america is going to believe that was a mistake? lol. ok......

  • FOX NEWS sucks, how could you even call that News ? MSNBC CNN they all lie, its just a matter of who lies less. Fox is proven crap when it comes to news

  • Awesome YOU'LL NEVER SEE FOX NEWS APOLOGIZE OR ADMIT to their purposeful, meticulously laid out radical stunts. Most Americans will respect what this guys did while radical right wingers are playing gotcha with it

  • they just appologize last week for using the wrong footage of a rally. Get your facts straight.

  • obviously YOU don't watch fox news-it's waaay better than the commie/progressive nbc msnbc etc otherwise known as the obama networks!!!

  • Hannity just said he was sorry for posting a wrong video of the tea party rally, and I have seen bill-o do the same...

  • Damn!

This was hysterically funny from beginning to end!!

American news TV is the best joke on Youtube :-D

  • Faux news does this all the time

  • MSNBC is not a credible news network . In fact its a joke.

  • I don't know who he is But I Respect Him!!! MSNBC got a good person there.

  • Thank god they apologized for that. MSNBC should not stoop to FOX-level tactics. Unfortunately, every day they seem to be becoming more like that that station. -.- BBC it is, then. Much better.

  • "Taking measures." Translation: somebody got shitcanned.

  • Dylan Ratigan is the same bastard that tried to cover up the black guy's race when he carried a gun near Obama at an event.

    Same shit different day.

But of course Hannity used that old footage on purpose. Right ?

  • Well, no: I guess it is inexcusable to use photoshopped pictures, but a colleague of my Wife's was putting together a package for (now defunct sports channel) Setanta and needed their logo so pulled it off the web. He didn't notice that it wasn't just the logo, but had 'Like sky sports, but shit' written underneath. You can understand using photoshopped pictures by accident - you just do a google images search and use what you find. Splicing together film 'inadvertantly' is a lot more difficult

  • there is a difference between using photoshop in an obviously joking was as opposed to using another events film to change a persons perception of an event

  • Uhm, not really. Especially without mentioning that the photo was shopped. It's not that obvious, otherwise. FOX has tried a similar defense before, and that was BS too.

  • In other words they fired some folks and sent some interns packing. lol

  • haha the pic in the middle was so fake i saw it few months ago

  • Nailin Palin

  • MSLSD never had journalistic credibility therefore the apology is a joke.

  • So what you're saying is "Whatever they say is wrong".

  • Mr. Gstate has been kicked one to many times in the head. The facts are 4 mill. lost jobs, 11 trillion in debt.. SS,Medicare and the Postoffice going bankrupt. We are about to insure 30 mill. illegals, let people with aids in this country and pay for everyone's abortion's. If you want to pay for all that go right ahead. Send the bill to this idiots house. We don't need terrorist to fly planes into our Bldgs. or plot to kill us ,we have President Obama now. He will do it it for them.

  • "We mistakenly used CLEARLY photoshopped images".

That's like saying "I mistakenly had sex with a girls who was CLEARLY a 12-year-old. Woopsie" Ugh.. sometimes I don't know what's worse: Fox or this crap.

  • You got to be kidding a mistake. You did this to embarass the lady. The Democratic party could only hope to have a Sara Palin on there side. Just look this womans record up as Governor of Alaska and see for yourself what she did for that State. The only one that looks stupid is Dems. and MSNBC. Mr. Obama as president: 4mil. lost jobs, 11 trillion in debt.,he will destroy this country as we know it.

  • You mean there there is someone out there watching MSNBC, I thought they were placed on the endangered list. All you sheep out there keep following Mr. Obama right over the cliff.Mrs. Palin's State was not in debt, created jobs and there banks where never in trouble. You will never hear that about Mr. Obama.

  • They also have reservoirs of oil that are not trusted to the governor. She hardly does a thing but cuts the checks that the oil industry doles out to the people. You could call it a localized socialism actually.

  • I think a lot of states lease land to oil companies for drilling. Some of them throw the money in their general fund which in turn can lower or eliminate the need for state taxes. Alaska may be the only state that just cuts everybody a check. Power (or money) to the people

  • Which I wouldn't be mad at if a) she hadn't acted like Alaska was some self sufficient place that didn't happen to be owned by Exxon and that she didn't preside over the meth-iest of cities in said state before becoming the governor b) she wasn't at the vanguard of the "scaring you with soshurlismzz" movement and c) the oil industry wasn't making our planet unlivable and the beneficiaries weren't lying to the dumbasses in the populous about it having no effect.

  • I think the natives would argue that it was self sufficient. They seem to have been self sufficient for thousands of years. As far as Oil companies polluting I would rather drill here than in other countries. I've seen kuwait and Iraq and they are filthy turdholes. Their power plants leave scum on parked cars and you can see the reddish brown smoke in the sky for over a hundred miles. When the government owns the oil and the power plant, inefficiency and waste are not big concerns.

  • I would rather, as President - sorry - Candidate Obama said, be at the vanguard of non-polluting energy sources. Having oil supremacy does us no good if we're all dead and dying.

The Gov't may be inefficient but the private sector is only driven by a profit motive so some things should not be fully left up to them. This profit motive gives them the means and motivation to successfully misguide large segments of the population to ignore cataclysmic warnings based on scientific research.

  • Squal if theirs one thing history has taught us it is that their is no Normal temp for the planet. It goes up and down sometimes to extremes and it will do it again. We'll have another Ice age and anything in its path that was built by humans will be ground up and erased. Populations will migrate south or north for a few thousand years and when it receeds we'll slowly migrate back. It is folly to think we cause it and sillier still to think we can stop it.

  • I'm no scientist myself so I'm not going to debate the finer points but I will stick to what the more credible experts say on that score. To say pish posh to green house gasses, ozone layer depletion and decreased air quality even as asthma and cancer proliferate at a rate the never did before seems like folly to me. The planet is millions of years old. It will endure even if we make our own environment poisonous to ourselves. I'd rather stop that cycle then pretend it's false. That's just me.

  • Only businesses are driven by a profit motive? No, everyone is...especially politicians. Don't say the government isn't interested in profit.

Al Gore will sell his movie and books and what not to make himself as much money as possible while telling us humans need to fight global warming - and then go back to his 20 bedroom house that uses 20 times the electricity that average houses do.

  • People are profit or gain driven yes but at the very least if a politician is seriously on the take they can either be arrested or voted out. CEOs that fuck up the economy and/or environment for everyone dont' have any such threat. How do you know Al Gore doesn't buy clean energy and have solar panels? No one is saying it's wrong to make a buck but to do it at the detriment of others all the while denying your ill effects is the problem.

  • How have CEOs fucked up the economy?

The only good impact the government has ever had on the economy is when it regulates and makes businesses pay for the extranalities on the environment and on others. (every other time the government has intervened in the economy, it has fucked it up...i.e. minimum wage laws, price floors and ceilings etc)

Are those solar panels powering his private jet too? Ha he probably doesn't even believe what he says. He's only doing it for the other green - money.

  • The bank CEOs that made up their earnings and did a bunch of trickery and either left their jobs with millions and millions in severence or got to keep them. If you're working class you can't screw up that bad and still come out smelling like roses but whatever that's not even the argument at hand.

Once you came out anti minimum wage though you helped me to understand exactly why we'll never agree on anything. Ever.

  • Any economist will tell you minimum wage is a bad idea that actually hurts the poor. There is a multitude of reasons why....I'll share them when I get back from my MINIMUM WAGE job haha.

  • Any economists that would tell me that is a total quack and I would not take them seriously. Go to one of the countries American businesses ship their jobs to because they can exploit the workers and there is no minimum wage or unfair conditions laws. Stay there for a year then come back and tell me what a wonderful paradise you enjoyed for a year. Hurts the poor my ass. That's just the double speak hornswaggle the ruling class feeds folks like you so you'll be their apologist.

  • You've obviously never taken economics...which makes me wonder why you would have a stance on the issue without being informed.

I used to support a minimum wage too (not a 7.25 one though) before I took econ. I was wrong. Lmao, you're saying the only difference between America being great and other countries being poor is because we have minimum wage laws? Hahahahahaha

  • Price floors (what minimum wages is, obviously) create surplusses. Some claim the increase from $6.55 to $7.25 will lead to the loss of 300,000 jobs. And who gets fired first in jobs? The least experienced and least qualified....many times the ones in poverty.

Not to mention, the way to get better jobs is through experience, and you can't get experience if you don't have a job. So good luck to those in poverty of the 300,000 who will stay in poverty due to minimum wage laws.

  • Not to mention, even for the people who don't lose their job, they may very easily see decrease in hours, benefits, etc.

From supply/demand graph, you will see a wedge in between marginal costs and marginal revenue created by the minimum wage laws. That wedge is the loss to society. Since you've never taken economics, I would adivse you to do that before taking a stand on the issue again. You're obviously either a far left liberal or a far right conservative...and my guess is liberal.

  • I don't need to take an economic class for something so common sense as to be laughable. In lieu of minimum wage laws what exactly do you propose? This ought to be good.

  • Economics proposes letting the market decide. Not exactly rocket science. If an employer is willing to pay 100 employees $6 bucks an hour and only 40 people are willing to do it for that price, either the employer will pay a higher price in order to hire their workers or won't. Sometimes a business can't afford to pay workers something as high as $7.25...that's one reason many small businesses go out of business.

How old are you anyway? It says 33 but I call bullshit

  • If you cannot afford to pay people a livable wage, you do not deserve a business. Full stop.

You can call whatever you like. I don't justify myself to people on the internet, more specifically those with such a poor idea about how the every-day human world works. There will ALWAYS be and have ALWAYS been people desperate enough to do whatever job for exploitative wages. Always. Your "logic" is cute though. I'll give you that.

  • You're a teacher? How can you get a job educating our youth when you're acting like a dumbass? I hope you aren't indoctrinating them with your senseless views.

""""If you cannot afford to pay people a livable wage, you do not deserve a business."""""

Is that out of the Holy Bible of Liberalism? You're a dumbass. I hope you never vote. If that logic were a law, our economy would implode.

You have absolutely no reply for ANY of my logic based points. Stop watching TV - do research

  • You are a clown. You have no idea about reality. You just spout off conservative talking points that mean absolutely nothing.

I teach in the real world where real people get really exploited because they think like you. Thankfully, there are those with the intelligence and humanity to at least TRY to teach the next generation something better.

Wait... you used logic? Where!? Let me see! *squints*

  • You admitted to never taking economics....and then you claim I have no idea about reality? You might as well shut up now if you have no facts, no counter-arguments to my facts and points, and no experience in even taking a basic economics course. Go back to your 9th graders....you obviously don't have enough intelligence to talk to anyone else.

  • Class =/= Reality... just so you know. Pull your head out of the conservative economic circles and actually LEARN something instead of cussing people out based on boat loads of useless theory.

    To ponder:

    1. Is there any amount of money that is too low to pay a worker? (Slavery is economically sound for instance)

    2. If you cannot afford something in a store, you can't buy it (except for special cases with haggling and the like). Therefore if you cannot pay your workers you =/= business. Simple.

  • I don't debate about the healthcare issue...I haven't done research on it. I would advise you to do the same on this issue. Either do research or shut up. Your argument is like a 5 year old arguing math to a calculus professor.

    1. If a wage is too low, it will not be taken for a job and that business will either go out of business or be forced to pay a higher wage. It's called the market.

    2. Umm...yeah if you can't pay your workers you don't get workers and no business. Very good timmy!

  • A course will teach you about reality from everyone's perspective. Your reality you see from your point of view in the world puts your personal views in front of what's right....which is why you'd be a horrible politician (not that many politicians don't do that....which is why almost all suck)

If you ever come to Arizona let me know. I wanna know if you're being serious right now and are really like this in real life.

  • If you're really a teacher I would seriously suggest you take a class on economics. I'm actually serious. You'll see how much you'll learn and what the vast majority of American's don't seem to understand. A lot of my economic views changed. And my new views actually have facts to back them up....my old views were based on what I deemed "fair". Exactly what you're doing now. Go take a class in the spring and tell me what you learned come next summer. You'll be surprised.

  • I have no interest in economics, but might I suggest you take some humanities courses, preferably something in the history department so you can have some idea what it looks like when there are no rules and regulations in place and the ruling class/employing class sets their own.

  • I'll take as many history classes as you want as long as you take economics. Politics revolve around the economy. You can't be taken seriously in almost any political argument without knowing anything about econ. Let me guess....you're a far left liberal who gets all his views from tv? TURN YOUR TELEVISION OFF! MSNBC, CNN, Fox....it's all garbage. Think for yourself.

  • You're using the far left liberal trope admonishing me for relying on television to formulate my opinions? That's rich, and I like real life irony so thank you for that.

I'm a Progressive. Unlike liberals and conservatives I believe that the greater good of the species should take precedence over petty ideological beliefs. Everything you've said has been ideological as far as I can tell. However, a look at historical events - things that actually happened can disavow you of some of your ideas.

  • Historical events such as? What ideas have I said? I pointed out the factuary point that minimum wages bring huge surpluses of workers and destroy jobs and hours, as well as bring a welfare loss to society, meaning everybody loses.

  • On top of that, who's to say what is a livable wage? $7 isn't a livable wage but $7.25 is? Watch out, facts are coming your way! I know how much you must hate facts.... (continued)

  • Out of people in poverty:

43% own their own home. 80% have air conditioning, compared to only 36% of the entire U.S. population in 1970. Only 6% of poor households are overcrowded. More than 2/3 have more than two rooms per person. Nearly 3/4 of poor households own a car; 31 percent own 2+ cars. 95% of poor households have a color television; over half own two+ color televisions. 78% have a VCR or DVD player; 62% have cable or satellite TV.

The poverty line in the U.S. really is not poor

  • With all due respect perhaps you should pass this info on to the govt because they don't seem to understand what public goods are (aside from their baby DoD of course), or the fact that they need to be provided (be it public health or useful social services that minimize demand shocks). And the govt is loathe to actually force people/companies to pay for the costs of their output to society. I totally agree with you, but all this hate the govt talk becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

  • Palin who?

  • Rat-again apologized to his viewers.

    It's MSNBC.

    What viewers?

  • the ones that are smart enough not to watch the propaganda teabagging bullshit at fox news... thats who.

  • This is utter and complete bullshit...

Those shopped pics were out over a year ago...

Those assholes new they were fake and posted them anyway

    I guarantee they new it

  • I don't think anybody's watching MSNBC anymore anyway.

  • more people with a brain that enjoy the propaganda arm of the republican party that cant even hold its promise of being "fair and balanced" as much as it can do accurate reporting.

  • They do better than CNN.

I think the reason more people watch fox is because it is part of the lowest tier cable package. There are places right here in Pennsylvania that don't even get MSNBC or CNN and all they have is the spewdom of Fox.

  • All American Media is Trash.

    End of debate.

Your best bet is to watch Al-Jazeera English for world news and read online and papers for local and national news.

Unless you really feel the urge to have someone give you commentary and not just the news.

    Enjoy your Representative Plutocracy, guys.

  • The BBC is pretty good too, probably not on all issues but they often have a fresh perspective.

  • I wish we had a proper network for Dylan to be a part of.

  • I do not understand why MSNBC are always belittling Palin just because she does not have their liberal bias ideology.

It is one thing to point out a political view but acting like a 'bully' at a grade school is nothing but lowering their once professional reputation .

No wonder their ratings are so low.

  • I totally agree... They thrive off of Sarah Palin and if you think about it FOX NEWS doesn't even cover them as much as MSNBC . I stopped doing a tally count on how many times Sarah Palin's name was thrown out today on MSNBS.

Fuck the mainstream media, misleadin' ya.

  • FOX NEWS knows that Palin will cause a suicidal GOP primary and a definite second term for Obama. At least they get it.

  • Obams second term is only in your mind....

  • Like Fox News hasn't done similarly without apologies and with more malice a 100 times more.

  • Agreed. A similar incident to this occurred a while back on FOX, and instead of apologizing, they just ridiculed the complaint.

  • good for apologizing on an obvious fake pic, what incident on fox are you talking about

  • hannity used a vedio that the tea party had when there were alot of people ..and tried to pass it off as the most current, and jhon stewart noticed it and called him out on it...so he aplogized for doing it..now if only john stewart would of got this one..I would believe he is not biased but oh well....

  • Search Media Matters for "doctored photos" and "new york times". Unfortunately, I can't get any of the addresses to post. If you can't find it, PM me, and I'll try sending the addresses again.

  • Glagh, almost forgot, set the network you're searching for stories about as FOX News! My bad!

  • roflcopter

  • Did she call Palin a "stuporstar"? I like it.

  • I think "completely unacceptable" is a bit strong. This was a humor piece. The images ought not be taken that seriously if the content itself isn't. Sure, they should have recognized that the images were faked, but just acknowledging that fact would have been good enough. Something along the lines of" "By the way, that shot of her with the assault rifle? That's photoshopped. But we think it gets the point across."

  • finally, a sincere apology from the media. none of those "we regret imposing our misguided judgment on using inherently offensive.... blah blah blah."

    score 1 for the media

  • though they should have researched this a little more before using the pics i don't think this was as serious as sean hannity putting to clearly different clips together for that las tea party rally in washington. i'm sure hannity knew exactly what he was doing because he stated there were over 40k demonstraters when there clearly was'nt.here msnbc was poking fun at palin but it still does not make them not checking thier sources any less wrong.

  • i agree, what hannity did was an outrageous and clearly intentional attempt to distort reality. stewart's new slogan for fox captures it perfectly: "we alter reality. you are sold a preconceived narrative."

  • there you go, that's the way you get people to agree with you. don't make any attempt at a logical counter-argument. don't let yourself be bound by 'facts' and 'reality' and all that liberal bullshit.

    just insult people. multiple people.

    ...with the same exact insult.
