I come from watching 2012 version... no fucking comparison, the new one is 10000 times better. I used to hate when people came to her live vids to insult her but now I totally understand them because this is crap compared to her new performances. Its incredible how she has improved her voice. She's no longer the bad substitute of Tarja :). It's awesome, no huge belting sounds any more. And by the way she has now more charisma on stage. And add that I'm not a fanboy, it's just my opinion :)

@toshirosan23 Well, it's more than just the fact that she's used to the song, the sonds were made with her voice in mind. Anette needs to make more changes to the song, and make it her own, it's a more subtle version of the problem that you always get when you have a guy trying to cover a song made for a gal's voice, and the other way around. Anette needs to almost rip the song apart, and put it back together to suit the way her voice sings.

@toshirosan23 You have a point, they are completely different, however in this particular song you can compare them, I don't think that Anette has done enough to the song to mould it to her voice, Tarja had a much more operatic tone to her voice, that suited this song, and the other older Nightwish songs. That said, I do like Anette in the newer songs like Bye Bye Beautiful, I just don't think she can sing Tarja's songs.

@BloodyBooze It's personal opinion in the end. I like the classical feel Tarja brought to Nightwish and live when she sings Phantom or even Fantasmic, it feels natural and awesome. Dark Passion Play and Imaginaerum are amazing albums which I think epitome Nightwish, but I feel Annete's live performances are lacking in the strength she gives in the album i.e. you can tell the album was heavily mixed and edited when you listen to her live. But to each his/her own.
