@base5ballsspilot Not really, in final approach plane already needs to be in landing configuration with landing checklist done. Speedbrakes may be used to descend faster when still far away from airport, but when in actual approach to the runway you just go around if you are too high and do not use speed brakes in final approach.

@FlightSimulator4life They do. Few years ago I was coming back from Thailand in an A330, and pilots used speedbrakes to descend faster. In final approach they indeed never use them in normal operation, but when further away from airport & descending its standard thing to use them if its needed.

Wow this approach makes the Space Shuttle's approach-attitude look shallow! Perhaps an approach from the opposite direction might help... no mountains and adequate time to set-up the aircraft for a landing.

@ajkpark he may still be using a joystick, as some of they keys play a roll as "hot keys" or "shortcut" keys such as engine control, flaps, spoilers, radios, etc. Most people do not play with arrow keys as there very difficult, if he isnt using a joystick, he may be using the mouse yoke which is just as effective as a joystick.

@TheThomasTT Actually in some publications, some flight schools said they felt X-Plane was a more better product for training new pilots and current pilots than FSX. They felt the effects on X-Plane were more true to life than FSX. So, maybe you ought to tone down your comments about X-Plane users. X-Plane is an FAA certified flight training simulation program, I'm not sure if FSX is. I'll check into it. Perhaps it should be if it isn't.

@RogueKnight12866 Actually cheap normal version of X Plane 9 is not FAA certified. And FSX cant be all bad anyways as Lockheed chose FSX as bottom to develop their prepar3d simulator which will be used for real training and will be FAA approved.
